(9/29/25) - First timer: we ate early so not much of crowd but staff was super friendly and inviting. I typically judge a Mexican restaurant by their chips and salsa quality and this place was great! Fresh chips, salsa was high quality, even spicy version was good. The margaritas were decent and flavorful (not overloaded mix or tequila) The best part of our experience was the Mocajete dish! Mix of shrimp, steak, chicken, cactus, jalapeño, chorizo, amazing cheese... More than enough to share for 2. This was first time I've ever seen or heard of and came recommended from a friend but it was worth it! So fresh, so tasty, and flavorful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! As soon as we walked in, we saw 3 employees who were speed walking and practically jogging to tend to their customers. Despite a full house, service and time to get food and drinks was excellent! Madeya was our waitress and was so great. I ordered a molcajete, so delicious and enough for 3 people! Margaritas were excellent as well. I was excited to try this place, but left underwhelmed. The interior was fine not too crowded. I loved the decorations. This was on a holiday weekend, so I knew there could be a wait. We didn't have to wait long to be seated or have our order taken. I do feel like our server was not happy to be there. He would come over to our table and stand close to me and not say anything. I took this as my que to order. We hardly saw him after he took our order (when he dropped off our receipt and left). We even had to grab our own to go boxes. I prefer corn tortillas, so I was sad to get flour. I would have loved to change but no one came over after we received our food. The food itself was okay. It was a little on the bland side. 3.5 This is our favorite Mexican restaurant we have found at the lake so far. Chips, salsa and cheese dip are great. I had the house margarita and it wasn't my favorite. I might try one with better tequila next time. I had the quesadilla rellana with chicken and it was delicious. My husband had the carne asada tacos. I think we both liked the chicken better. They are clearly understaffed, but they were friendly and everyone was hustling. read more

The Waynesville/St Roberts has a new Mexican restaurant that can compete with the old school ones in town. The food is top notch. I ordered the taquitos plate that came with guacamole, rice and beans plus a small salad. The Taquitos were perfectly cooked, crunchy but not hard and the meat was very tasty. My wife had the Chili Colorado with rice and beans. The chili was so tasty with a savory but not too spicy red chili. The only thing that was disappointing was the small amount of rice and beans that came with the meals. Especially with the chili meal we're use to having enough rice with every bite of the chili. But we're definitely going back. They also have a liquor license so can't wait to try a margarita! read more

Amazing wait staff! We dined here for the first time on Cinco De Mayo! Even though they were packed and on a wait they got all of our orders right the first time. Our server was very friendly and accommodating to our party of 5! Food was fresh, hot and cheap for the portion sizes. The chips were super thin and crispy....I could've kept eating them. Eh.. Used to be quite good. Prices nearly double here what they were 3 years ago. Thh pollo (chicken soup excellent). Was 7.95. now $13.99. Pretty hefty increase for Zarkian fare. Ambiance is zero tho. Ordered side of rice to go $4. you get 2 cents of tiny portion of tasteless rice. Like to see some improvement. Nice thing is they forced Tres Hombres to clean up and improve their quality which hit rock bottom 6 years ago and graduslly much better. I wish them no ill will. Just encourage them if going to double their price, pick up their game. read more

Foot is always great, consistent, fast and reasonably priced. Staff is always friendly and accommodating! I've tried many different entrees and loved them all. A couple of my favorites are the shrimp tacos, burrito Jalisco and burrito Centenario. The fajitas are always a hit as well. read more

No wait on a Saturday night (big contrast to their neighbor) Great service 5 stars for taste (hubby and I shared the double or size chicken, beef and shrimp fajitas). Well, the waiters were nice, fast and really on the ball! Now, let me tell you about the food. NO...just...NO! Holy crap! El Centenario must be a reference to the age of the broccoli that was dipped in the greasy onion bath. Disgusting, floppy, and clearly a long time after it's "best by" date. In fact, I could argue that it was the Joan Rivers of broccoli. Joan Rivers or no, there aren't enough face lifts and fanny tucks in Hollywood to lift this meal high enough to edibility acceptability. Although, I think they may use fat from liposuction to fry the chips. This restaurant does a huge mis-justice to the fine Hispanic community. read more

I really wanted to love this place because it looks like one of those dives you find as a last ditch effort to find something to eat in some old ghost town. I wanted to be pleasantly shocked by the astounding food in a place you'd never expect. I wanted it to be one of those hole-in-the-wall places that knock your socks off with incredible food. THIS ISN'T IT. I can honestly say I have now consumed Missouri's WORST Mexican food. It tastes like the refuse pulled from El Camino Real's dumpster. The chips and salsa...The chips are pretty normal, tasteless tortilla chips. But these have many that are translucent from being soaked in oil insufficiently heated to frying temperatures. The salsa tastes and looks like ketchup or tomato sauce from a can. There is no zing, no zap, no flavor but canned tomato sauce. Adding habañero sauce to it doesn't help it, either. The fajita veggies are almost all onions! Flavorless onions. There are some mushrooms, peppers, broccoli and pineapple added in but it's entirely flavorless! It reminds me of the SNL Black Jeopardy skit where they make fun of white women making flavorless potato salad with unnecessary ingredients like raisins added in. The beans and rice seem to be straight out of the dumpster with a TRUCKLOAD of MSG added to pick it up slightly from the depths of Hell. THE LEMON IN THE WATER WAS EXCEPTIONAL, THOUGH! Tiny place. Big flavor. We are visiting from out of state (tx) and had no clue what to try around here. Thanks to yelp, we found quite possibly the best Mexican (TexMex?) food we've ever had. The salsa was perfect. Everyone at the table was digging in. These were the best refried beans I've ever tasted. And I rarely even order beans or rice anymore. I'm glad I didn't skip them this time. The hubs went with the chicken chimichanga. He was extremely pleased. The kiddo tried one of each enchilada - beef, chicken and cheese. This kid never likes anything and rarely finishes a dish. The plate was clean, my friends. CLEAN. That spoke volumes. Finally, I love all things shrimp, so I went for the shrimp fajitas. W O W . They were perfectly cooked. With the guacamole and pico and grilled onions and spanish rice, those fajitas were incredibly satisfying. And did I mention the best refried beans ever? Lol! We came here on a whim after driving the wrong way for a few minutes. We thought "hey we are already off track let's stop at this Mexican restaurant. This place has quickly become the fav of many of my friends and I agree! Good food, good service, good prices & great Margaritas! Fajitas and carne assada are stand outs, but the menu is huge & I've only tried a few things, but all have been very good. This week I had the carnitas and I think that is the least favorite of my choices. It was a huge portion of pork (probably the size of a baseball) in 3 chunks, but didn't have as much seasoning as I expected. It was just pork. It needed to be shredded up to put on the tortillas (not a big deal). But like most the meals here it was more than twice what I could eat at one seating & I got 2 more meals out of the left overs :) read more
