I'm a local and waited with anticipation for this spot to open. The physical space has a hip, comfortable indoor/outdoor vibe with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables along the creek. An Airstream camper is parked on-site for bikers/walkers on the trail want to grab a coffee. I love how they have multi-purposed this place! I have been here twice before I decided to submit a review. Cocktails were spot on for flavor and creativity, but as other reviewers noted, slight pours for the price. I liked the Caesar salad so much on my first visit that I ordered it again on my second with a piece of seared tuna. It was delightful and prepared rare, as requested. On my first visit, we ordered the cauliflower appetizer, and the Fun Guy pizza. While I appreciated that the cauli was on the menu for my GF friends, it left us wanting. It wasn't charred enough and the sauce was bland. Crust on the pizza had a lovely texture and there were ample mushrooms. There was not a discernable hint of truffle oil as advertised, however. And we really tried to find it! This pizza would have rocked if it was present. Everything was underseasoned. We found ourselves hitting the salt which we normally do not do. On my second trip, I ordered the truffle fries mainly to see if the truffle oil situation was rectified. They came out rippin' hot (as they should). The dipping sauces (we asked to try some extras) were all very good and elevated the experience, but we were again disappointed that the truffle oil was not present. Good truffle fries are so darn good that when you think you are getting them and then don't....it just plain bumms you out. Service on the first visit was good but our waiter seemed very busy making drinks at the bar. When we were trying to get some help other servers were standing around chatting, and not observant of the room in general. Service on our second visit was excellent with Mikalah as our waitress. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered good suggestions. It was clear that she was eager for us to have a good experience. Here's the deal. I'm rooting for this place! So much is going for it, but the food needs to be good consistently. With the dollar the way it is now, it hits harder if dining out isn't a home run. Food needs a little more seasoning(, beet salad needs more dressing , veggie sandwich on a different bread perhaps - very dry, burger needs just a lil more flavoring, chips were awesome Pizza was good but needs more sauce- most ppl left a lot of crust on their plates. I've been there twice now and each time we had Great service and Delicious food! My white pizza with artichoke hearts and spinach is my new favorite and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his chicken and arugula sandwich with chips. We both brought half of our meals home! Hellertown and the Lehigh Valley is VERY lucky this awesome establishment has moved into the neighborhood. Everything about PA House has been done to perfection. The venue design is awesome, starting with a well manicured outside yard that is the perfect place to stop for a coffee or smoothie while exercising along the rail trail. The classic Airstream serving daytime treats adds to the cool vibe. The perfectly positioned Adirondack chairs along the creek are a great spot to sip happy hour cocktails and hangout with friends. Inside, the modern-urban meets utilitarian design and indoor/outdoor vibe mixed with cool music playing at the perfect volume might make you think you've been transported to a chic NYC or Austin hangout. But even better, you haven't had to travel far from home at all. It's really that cool! On to the bar: The "Perfect Negroni" truly is as the name suggests. I was not a Negroni fan until I had one here. And the pizza... cooked in an oven from Italy, left me speechless. Crust, sauce, toppings all excellent. PA House is a much welcomed addition to the ever expanding Lehigh Valley culinary scene, and a place that I believe raises the bar. read more

So there was a mix up on a very large reservation I made for a work party. I thought I was going to have to cancel last minute but the manager went above and beyond to help me get this done. I was so grateful. The food was incredible! We got cacio e Pepe Fries, salads, flatbreads, and sandwiches and everything was incredible!!! Even though we were a group of 13, the service was impeccable. The venue was a nice size but still intimate. Sorry no pics. I would highly recommend for dinner, drinks, or a party! used to work at this restaurant and let me tell you all, it is a terrible establishment. The kitchen staff are absolutely delightful, but the GM Jesse is one of the worst people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. He does nothing but make rude/disgusting/passive aggressive comments, will tell you that the job is more important than your physical health, or even a family member passing away. The rate of pay is not even remotely fair considering the things the hosts are forced to do. At one point I distinctly remember being told that hosts/server assistants would get the opportunity to serve but the only people who got that "promotion" were white employees while the PoC stayed in support positions. I'm honestly surprised this place has stayed open as long as it has. read more

I have loved this place since it opened. It's been perfect, but literally never again. Drove by tonight, was not crowed. Which is rare. Perfect time to sit outside and have some cocktails and a nice meal by the creek.. Seated by the host. 30 min later, still no service. Finally they get a bus boy to grab our drinks. I worked in food service for years, I get it. It's a Friday night. Took another 30-35 min for a simple charcuterie board. No one came to check on us. No one offered to get us drinks. An hour and 40 min into being there. Still nothing, yet patrons all around us had full glasses, food. Enjoying their experience.. I finally walked inside and to my surprise 4 waitresses were standing around chatting. Again, I worked in food service for years. Totally get it and HATE being this guy. Calmly brought them up to speed shout the experience. I asked them to box up my food and get me out the door in 15 min and I would gladly pay my tab. Just chalk it up to just a bad night by all involved. Nope. 15 min later. Nearly TWO HOURS in total. Also the slowest night I've ever seen them have. No food. Couldn't fulfill a simple burger and crab cake. Offered a gift card but no genuine condolences or explanation why we were treated this way. I absolutely hate to leave a bad review and X out a local, independent business but I'm failing to find a viable excuse or even one reason to return. read more

I came here the other days to celebrate my birthday and the place is very nice and the food is very good, the only problem is the flies, you can't eat in peace with so many flies around you and stopping at your food is very disgusting, one of the flies fell into the sauce of my fries, I told one of the waitresses and she told me that it was because the doors were open and that they couldn't do anything since the owner or manager didn't want to close them, the waitress just brought a new sauce and that's it. I don't know what owner or manager thinks that eating with a fly is a wonderful experience, I don't even know how the health system allows it or how they pass inspection with something so disgusting. read more

Amazing new restaurant in Hellertown. Used to be a garage of some kind, but has been transformed into a modern, hip eatery. Eaten here several times and everything has been wonderful. Pizzas are fantastic, made in an authentic wood-fired one, and large enough for one person, even if you're quite hungry. On my most recent visit, I had the veggie sandwich on ciabatta with house-made chips, excellent. Had the bourbon sour to drink, amazing, made with a real egg white, the old fashioned way. Rest of my party had pizza and salads, all excellent. Staff was great, especially the kitchen staff, and dishwasher. Only complaints, the restaurant is a little noisy; there's very little to dampen the sound, so it can get loud when it's crowded. Also the parking lot is tiny, but there is plenty of off-street parking. Definitely worth visiting! read more

This building was once a garage and the restaurant kept the garage doors to open up the entire place to the outside! The atmosphere is fresh, the staff is helpful and sweet. The drinks and food were delicious. I had the Bellini and the delicious " s.o.p. Pizza" with carmelized onion, red peppers and chicken sausage. The pizza was flavorful and too big for lunch so I ate the leftovers for dinner. My friend had the burger and declared it delicious as well. There are picnic benches and Adirondack chairs overlooking the Saucon Creek for people having drinks from either the restaurant or the Hello Joe Airstream RV in the parking lot serving coffee drinks. First I want to decorate that the food is delicious, the pizza was excellent, the avocado hummus, the land burger and chicken grill delicious and the desserts delicious. The reason I give it 2 stars is because of the management, the management is awful, the General manager is very rude, my son went to ask him about the oven, and he completely ignored him, and I was also able to observe while waiting with my family at the table that he treats the employees very badly and yells at them a lot, I could see that the cooks were very stressed because he was yelling at them to go ahead with the food, some waiters stand talking while the cooks ask them for help to get the orders out. the restaurant It was full, honestly, as a retired human resources employee, I know that the way he treats employees is wrong, but that is up to the owner to decide. I recommend the place, but I think they need a more charismatic general manager who truly loves the public and his team. Went to PA house for the first time today. It's a beautiful space - they did a great job in the design and it really has a special feel about it. Had a great cocktail. A little pricey but I know that's the times. What I was underwhelmed with was the food. Everything needed salt and really was kind of lackluster. I had the beet and goat cheese salad I had to request extra dressing because it really wasn't dressed well and the amount of goat cheese and beet on it was very underwhelming just lacked flavor. Also got the roasted cauliflower with the romesco sauce. Cauliflower was not caramelized and chard enough - pieces were to big. They gave you barely any romesco sauce and it was underwhelming - no depth of flavor. My friend got the Caesar salad which she did say had great flavor and she enjoyed. We finished with the fun guy Pizza that had truffle oil. Again flavor was very lackluster. I needed to add Parmesan, hot pepper flakes, salt and pepper to kind of give it any kind of zing. Food fell very flat. Great concept, vibe, great menu but add some seasonings please!!! Garlic will help tremendously but there's a world of seasonings out there don't be afraid to use them. I will definitely go back and try other things on the menu possibly we just made bad picks-But everything should have flavor! read more

Overall, we had a good experience here and will definitely come back. I agree with people's reviews that there are some tweaks that need to happen with the pizza and how undercooked it was but the flavor was very good. The main reason I am writing the review is because I noticed a similar vibe with the manager that some other reviewers commented on. He was standing by the kitchen and was giving feedback/criticism and then I noticed he was moving the food on the plates with his bare hands prior to it being served to the customers. It grossed me out not knowing what he touched prior to touching the food. My strongest feeling was, shouldn't he be teaching the food servers how to handle the food verses critic how it looks on the plate. I don't want to completely judge because I know very little about the industry but hearing other peoples experiences, I thought it was note worthy to the owners since it is new and a good time to make small adjustments. read more

My husband and I finally got to try this new place in Hellertown. The building is a renovated car garage. So when we went, they had the garage doors open since it s was a nice, warm day. We tried the following from their menu: avocado hummus, the fries with dipping sauces, the arugula shaved Parmesan salad and the margherita pizza. The avocado hummus and pizza are a must. I did not quite care for the dipping sauces (since the server neglected to tell us what they were. The only one I could identify was some sort of mustard.) and I was not a huge fan of the salad. I'll skip that the next time we go. I also had their Bellini drink special. That was pretty good. The service was awkward though. Our server didn't even realize we had our pizza already, she brought us the two plates we requested AFTER we were already finished with the pizza. Also I felt like we had to park a quarter mile away from this place. There's not enough parking right now in their small lot, and the street parking was very full, so it took awhile to find somewhere to park. Hopefully it can be improved upon. Also it appears that the restaurant does not do take-out. It's dine-in only. I would love to be able to get the avocado hummus whenever as take out. Hopefully they will offer take-out in the future. read more
