Literally the whole bank is terrible to deal with. I had a car loan with them and they kept adding on interest when I had a set interest rate. They towed my car after I was 5 days late. It was AWD and once I paid the insane amount to get it back, my car wasn't the same. AWD stopped working, my brakes went bad. I will never ever get a loan with this company again. I stopped making the payment and told them to come and get the car because it was not safe to drive at all with my kids. Do not trust this company. read more

The Ontario Oregon branch agents are very helpful whether making payments or getting money from under their kiosk that fell on the floor while attempting to make a payment towards my truck loan on Saturday after hours the 11th of May 2024. I am crippled in the knees and couldn't get down on my knee to see if a 50 dollar bill had floated under the kiosk, and it had and the young gentlemen fetched it for me very politely. Thanks a lot for helping me out. Their auto loans are reasonable for customers and new customers too who are building new credit. read more

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS CREDIT UNION. The loan officer, Katie, misguided me throughout the entire process. I had only called to inquire about the documents needed, and I had "consented" to what I thought was a soft inquiry as other loan processes officer an initial soft inquiry and because I was not told otherwise, and she pulled a hard inquiry during my very first conversation before I submitted any documents to apply for the auto loan. I explicitly stated and provided a job offer letter of when my start date would be, and she told me that only a verification of employment for my new job would suffice for the application. As a result of her not providing accurate information about the appropriate documents, my application was declined because "I needed a first paystub," and "There are other variables to take into account," that she did not inform me of until after my decline. They said they would need to pull a second hard inquiry because my first paystub would be after the 30 days. She hadn't told me she pulled a hard inquiry until a week later. Her supervisor, Chandra, used the excuse that Katie "was new and not aware/trained" and P1FCU's Vice President of Member Services refused to remove this hard inquiry from my account, even after her supervisor admitted that this process was incorrect and were in the wrong. I reported P1FCU to the Better Business Bureau, and the VP, Vanessa Broemeling, said they would not be correcting this and closed the grievance. I have happily chosen another credit union for my auto loan. This credit union has an A+ rating; was more professional, efficient, and helpful; and guided me through the whole process to ensure it was done correctly the first time. I encourage everyone to steer clear of P1FCU and be aware of the deficient, unprofessional service that P1FCU provides. read more

Please allow me to be quite frank Never have I liked entering any bank if only I knew about P1FCU for the great experience I have Jim and Brian to thank. After four visits to Wells Fargo in CDA, each time bringing more documentation to try and obtain the coveted Medallion Signature Guarantee (MSG), the buffoon of a manager finally informed me that they wouldn't give it to me unless the trust account was in their bank. It took one phone call to P1FCU and Jim, kind as he is, relieved all of my fears. Within an hour and half, we had met with him and Brian to both set up new accounts and to obtain the MSG. One need not infer that national banks are superior as this experience proved that even managers at big financial institutions don't understand many details let alone provide the proper level of customer service that a local credit union does. I can now attest that one of the P1FCU street sign ads is true: that I was treated more like a friend than a number or an account. read more

Opened a bank account with them for the purposes of getting an auto loan from them. The process of getting the loan was impossible to get through (no preapproval options, you had to have the exact price and make before they could start the process) and the loan officer was impossible to talk to. Played phone tag with them for a few weeks before giving up on them. Went with USAA and got a much better rate within hours of starting the application. I kept the account open with P1FCU because I didn't want to go through the hassle of dealing with their apparent lack of customer service. One year later they decided to start charging monthly inactive fees. When In got my quarterly statement I found that I had been charge 3 inactivity fees over the last three months despite a year without such fees. They of course didn't feel the need to notify me that this was occurring. I guess it is time to go through the hell of dealing with their customer service reps and attempt to close this account. I will update this review if they return the money they stole in inactivity fees, but don't hold your breath waiting for it. Update: They waived the inactivity fee. read more

Beware of taking a loan with P1FCU. They state that when you make an extra payment that it's applied to the principle balance. Not True. I have been making extra payments and each time they have applied any extra to interest. Sometimes they split the extra payment and take part to principle and part to interest after the regular payment for the month is paid. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau for unfair practices regarding loan payment applications. BEWARE of this practice. The tellers at the location will tell you the payment is applied to principle, but logging into the account a portion is skimmed off the top towards interest. Really defeats the purpose of making an additional payment. Also, Should be noted when I purchased my vehicle and received the loan, I was told I could make extra payments towards principle at any time, without any penalties for doing so. I have had a different loan with STCU and have never had that problem with them. GET YOUR LOANS WITH STCU if you want to be able to control how extra payments are post to your loan. P1FCU has bad business practices. read more

This is possibly the worst experience I have ever had with a bank/credit union. My husband and I have GREAT credit, never defaulted on a loan or missed a due date, don't hold balances on credit cards and are all around decent and reliable human beings. When it came time to apply for a loan we wanted to stay local and since we bank at P1FCU it seemed like the natural choice. From the get go it was a mess though... The loan officer didn't call me back about my general inquiry for over 2 weeks and when he did he referred me only to first apply online at their website. We did so and were automatically "Pre-Approved" within a week the same loan officer emailed us a list of everything he needed from us to finish the loan process, but he was confused that we needed a manufactured/construction loan. I was also confused because never once did I mention either of these items - we are buying a complete finished home in a subdivision. We put our home on the market during this time and accepted an offer 1 day later - Amazing! A week later we find out that the loan officer is no longer with Potlatch and someone else in the office would be taking over our loan. This person was slow to respond and ultimately was not on our side. I had just changed jobs a month ago and am now at a larger company, get a salary, had an offer letter, a huge raise, and am in the same field of work as before. But because of the job change they ended up denying our loan. Mind you I had put this information on the pre app, so why was it just now an issue?? They need to seriously evaluate if they should even offer mortgages! P.S. we applied at another - larger - bank and got approval within a week and are now excited home owners! read more

I've banked with P1FCU for almost 10 years and I couldn't be more happy with their service. They are very friendly and will go out of their way to help with any problems you are experiencing. I recently just got a car loan through them. Although it was my first car loan, the loan agents, Rebecca and Heather helped me through the process seamlessly. And to add to that, they offered me an interest rate that was almost half of what other places offer. My experience is nothing shy of 5 stars. read more

We were initially warned that they lose paperwork or don't file them on time etc etc but we thought we'd try them for our RV (first) loan. All went pretty well and we paid them off. Then took out a personal loan recently and two women loan officers helped me and asked me several times if the first pmt was ok to come out at the beginning of the first of the month which I verified yes. Well almost 2 weeks into the first month no pmt taken out. When I noticed that it hadn't yet come out of our checking I had to call them. Come to find out they never had auto pay set up though I have paperwork to show that it should have been and that "maybe the paperwork didn't get filed". WOW!!! This is a banking institution, how did they expect to get paid then? Had I not brought it up would they have...? Very strange and incompetent in my opinion. Also, I may be charged to make a pmt over the phone (transfer) from my bank (checking) to them. A fee really? For their incompetence? I will bring that charge to Potlatch for reimbursement if that's the case. Really frustrating, have more papers to sign, print out, and send in and we are out of state right now. Get it together Potlatch as this is most likely our last loan with you. read more
