Living in LB. from 93'-05', I used to love coming to this little dive. Saved a ton of money on what many people would consider to be generic items sold in today's dollar stores, but they were great. It was the place that got me hooked on chuck filet steaks and I purchased a ton of it for pennies on the dollar. Now everyone is hip to it. Since I moved to Eatontown, I have only visited a handful of times and the last two times I visited early this month, I purchased items that were absolutely rotten. Imitation crab meat salad was as sour as spoiled milk. Hot, Italian sausage had the casing slide off like a worn sock and my chicken skewers that were pre-packaged from another company were old, and even though fully cooked on the grill had to be thrown away, due to nasty aftertaste that I never experienced when shopping a Foodtown before they closed. Only thing that was good was the Matchlight charcoal, but even that was a waste, since it ended up grilling food that had to be disposed of. Such a shame, as I would always stick up for this store and had some good memories spending 20 bucks and getting a week's worth of cheap meat to throw on my cheap grill from Rite-Aid. I know the food situation is bad, so maybe it's not entirely fault, but that doesn't erase the fact that I had rotten and spoiled food in my mouth!! read more

The store is very convenient across the street from MMC and the train station right behind it. This store was once upon a time very clean and a quick mart to get your cold cuts, etc, but now it's worn down, older, and seems to cater to a certain population of people. It would be really cool actually if the store offered a section of organic foods at an affordable price for all since Nature's Corner went out of business in W.L.B. I understand Fine Fare is not a natural market and never was, but as time has changed, I think the store can use a new variety there. I believe there should be a market where organic and healthy foods are affordable for everyone. read more

Don't buy meat from here. Vegetables have been ok. Fruit is hit or miss, check carefully and you'll be fine however.

This is a perfect little grocery store that is conveniently located right across the street from the Monmouth Medical Center. It's very easy to pick up some groceries after a long day of work. They are also open pretty late, so that's one less thing to worry about. The staff is very friendly and they always help me find whatever I am looking for. The store looks small from the outside, but they have a wide variety of things to choose from and is very spacious on the inside. They have everything from freshly baked breads, deli meats, wide selection of fruits and vegetables to kitchen, school, and bath supplies. They seem to carry most common brands that you see in other stores. There is a good selection of both healthy and junk food, so the choice comes down to what your mood is like on any particular day. I was upset that they do not carry any Sriracha sauce, but maybe that's just a west coast thing. Overall, this is a nice place to get your day-to-day needs. read more

I don't have much to say about this little neighborhood supermarket but thats because my experiences have all been good with it. The shelves are usually well stocked and the place is clean. The help is polite and knowledgeable. Prices are comparable to other local supermarkets. The two best things it has going is that it is small enough that you can get in and out quicly, and rarely are the cash register lines long. Of course the selection would be greater in the huge Shop Rite out on the highway, but that place is just too big, and parking is a nightmare. Parking here is almost always a breeze. And all in all the selection is actually terrific considering its smaller size In short, you can't really go wrong shopping here if yoy find it has the products you buy the most. read more

I actually love going to this grocery store I find many products here that I find in other stores much cheaper in fact today I bought delicious blackberries on sale for $.89 a lot of the other stores have them for 399 for the same exact product. i use to shop here a lot when i was a kid, with my family, but over the years i found the store and the experience not what i wanted. the store seems to cater to the Latino community, and they do not really have what i want to buy, or for the diet, i have as well. the store is a family-run business which means they do tend to try to go overboard with how they treat the customers, that is the main thing i would say is what i have enjoyed about the store. they treat customers like they are meant to be treated. the cashiers are nice for the most part, they do seem to have a good attitude there as well. they are busy a lot and do good business at fine fare, but i only go in there when i really can not get to any other store in my area. read more

What else can I say other than "Superb Market" ... the diversity and quality of offerings is phenomenal and the prices are quite reasonable... the best part is you are dealing with a family market ... not a large company...the employees are very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with .... I must admit that Shoprite is my main go to ... but Fine Fare is a really close 2nd ! ... I love walking in and having the deli right there...I love the varieties of vegetables and fruits that are seldom found at conventional grocery stores...and the bread/rolls and unique pastries are delivered fresh daily...truly a blessing to have this "FINE" grocery store in my area ! ... kuddos to the family that owns it...even more so to the hard working/attentative/caring employees lucky enough to be employed at such a fine establishment ! ... It's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Very convenient if you need to pick up a few things near Monmouth Medical Center. And they're open pretty late - til 10 pm every night except Sunday when they close at 9. The staff I spoke with were friendly and didn't mind showing the way to the few items I was looking for. The store is clean, usually you can get around the isles easily. I usually check the sales on-line. The sales staff is always friendly. I started using Fine Fare on my way home from the train because it was convenient and continue to use it because it has good food and great sales. If you are looking for a gourmet market this is not the place, if you want fresh meat & produce with reasonable prices you should try them out. read more
