Not sure which Pathway Market in Ocean Grove, NJ, is getting all the glowing reviews, but I would not recommend this store if my life depended on it. Man, if looks could kill. Anytime I went in there as a good customer for 6 months now, a guy called "D" glares at me. And today he pounded on the counter as an elderly gentleman and I were having a friendly conversation. The other guy is really nice. Also, the place is dreary and could use an overhaul. I realize I haven't been a long-time customer, but my money is as good as anyone's. My husband and I visited the Pathway Market everyday while staying in Ocean Grove. This is a wonderful family owned and operated business. They have a tremendous deli offering sandwiches and more. We would routinely visit in the morning and grab bottled water and snacks to take to the beach. Terrific and friendly service and clean store. read more

Well, I had the chance to take the day off from being a realtor and helping my sister-in-law, sell her crafty spiders at the craft show this past weekend! Great weather and lunchtime was about to go down! - now what to eat and where? Since I am a diabetic and a pescatarian, many things that were available were not good for me - I was lucky enough to walk past - Pathway Market located at 42 Pilgrims Pathway, in Ocean Grove. Kind of unassuming and walked right in and headed straight to the deli counter. The man - his name is Nasar, was pretty quiet at first and I wasn't sure where this was going to go, because I can talk!! I told him what I wanted and he ended up being a master sandwich maker!! He has talent and it shows in his work and this is when he opened up. The very best tuna sub, made with love and just enough of it too! As you can see by the picture I will post, it's massive and huge in flavor too! Not a "sub" but on a sub roll, which too was amazing. I did share this so, don't judge. But it would be a tragedy not to give credit where it belongs! Not to give a great review... You have to come by and experience one of his masterpieces!! And bring a friend too!! Nothing is fresh there so double check everything. Never buy anything "fresh " there : You will leave disappointed .

Whenever I'm down here I find myself having go at least once due to running out of a certain item, or need a morning cup of coffee. This market definitely love up to the convience store grouping because it's just that convienent, not even requiring you to go to Asbury or further to a supermarket. The selection is somewhat limited but for a store like this choices aren't exactly why you come. There is a deli so you can get cold cuts and again a decent selection of coffee, newspapers and breakfast pastries to get your morning going even with some outside seating if it's nice. The downsides are as expected with a small time shop like this is the low staff. There's usually just 2 peopleone for the deli and another at the main register. If one of them is gone to the back you may he waiting a bit. Also you're gonna pay for the convience here, everything is more expensive then going to the supermarket you're used to. I live in town and this place is super convenient to stop by and pick up and item or two you forgot at the food store or a sandwhich and coffee. Staff is always friendly and they have a pretty decent selection and deli that carries boars head. It's intended as a convenience store, not a grocery store and it's absolutely perfect for that purpose read more

If you CRAVE vegetables like I do, you will starve in Ocean Grove. The pathetic moldy selection of supposedly fresh vegetables leads me to believe their deli offerings are no better. I bought old celery for $2.99 and the clerk was not even apologetic. read more

The deli sandwiches are very good, great to take on the beach. which only a couple of blocks away. Newspapers are available there as well.
