Bottom line: This Wegmans was the original one I experienced and still my fave grocery store. Huge selection of not only grocery items but prepared foods makes this stop a great one when needed. The Deets: This store was my first Wegmans experience many years ago, I have loved them then and ever since (I was so thankful when one finally opened up near me!). Large store with plenty of selection not only for groceries but also with the many prepared food stations available as well. I've not had a problem finding anything grocery wise here, they usually have all the needs covered. The variety of prepared foods is amazing. They are a great stop if you want something ready, made, and set to heat up/enjoy at home. Staff have usually be helpful and there usually have been plenty of staffed lines as well as self checkout kiosks available. I SO LOVE WEGMAN'S!!! Was on our way home from the outlets and saw there was a Wegmans nearby. So much selection and variety. We had the Harissa Chicken sub from Old FashionedSubs. Was quite delicious and stuffed with the chicken and lettuce, tonatoes and onions. We also ordered wings from the Pizza bar. They were freshly cooked and crispy. Took our food upstairs to the dining area - clean and comfortable with tables and chairs aplenty. So nice to sit upstairs and see all the variety of meals available. read more

I moved away from this area over 10 years ago but every time I visit family I have to come here. I LOVE this wegmans and miss it so much! This is only about the Sandwich Shop, the store in general is great. The board and lighting at the Sandwich Shop makes it impossible to order for those that have eyesight problems. They do not have any other option on the counter, in front of the board / shop. I have never bought a sandwich, since the lighting is way too far away from the board and the board is so dark and words are tiny. I forget sometimes and go to try a sandwich, but get so frustrated in trying to order, I give up each time, usually years apart. Why does Wegman's design there order board without thinking of those eyesight difficulties, Just go to any other sandwich shop and you can see they care. Such a shame for such a well known store and such a good reputation. I finally got so frustrated yesterday, that I realized I had to say something. I love Wegmans, no 2 ways about it. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The fresh baked bread rival any bakery. The fruit and vegetables never disappoint. My favorite item is their bag of 50 little neck clams, the price is always good and the clams are clean and free of sand. The prices in general are on par of not slightly higher than Shoprite or Stop and Shop. I firmly believe the quality of the goods is better and certainly worth more. read more

Years ago I was in Princeton, NJ taking a course at the University. Since the course was two days, I stayed overnight and went shopping before retiring for the . I saw a store with the name "Wegman's" and thought I would check it out. Having thought it was a Dept. Store, I was thrilled to see such a beautiful grocery store and asked where another one was being built. Was told next store built, would be Manalapan, NJ. Well, I was right there at the grand opening and went from Interlaken to Manalapan twice a month. However, Manalapan was quite the trip, so I began writing letters to Wegman's to please bring Wegman's to Ocean Twp, NJ and kept writing, giving demographic areas to build it, etc. I'm thinking they read my letters because one day it was announced that Wegman's was moving to Ocean Twp and I was so grateful and happy for this good news. And there I was at the 2nd Grand opening. Having a desire for organic food, as an RN for 47yr. and having raised 3 Children on home grown veggies, it is the perfect store for me. Now they even produce their own organic Italian and sourdough bread, organic parmesan sprinkle cheese, organic butter, organic cereal, and many more organic products. Grass fed beef, wild caught fish and $12 roses. It will always be my go to store. A#1 in my book. read more

My favorite Wegman's (not that I go to a lot of other locations). I come here way too often and buy too many things I don't need. The quality of things here is top notch and this is my one stop place for all groceries. Helpful staff, great variety and everything is fresh! Some of my favorites here include: fresh hand squeezed orange juice, cayenne pepper cheese (this is the best), Genoa salami, pepperoni, the marinated lamb ribs, uncooked crab cakes, pesto (one of the best in the world), peppadew peppers and amazing collection of olives (olive bar), ricotta filled ravioli - I could go on and on. Am I getting too picky in my reviews? Wegmans seems to be slightly going downhill because I never see anything I want on the shelves. Maybe it's just me. But after writing this I noticed a couple other reviews that are of the same opinion. The quality of food is still great here. And you could still eat a decent meal here for under $10. Out of most supermarkets in the area, Wegmans is still the best. Their prices are a tad higher, but if you do your homework, you will pay less/same as other local chains. Their cheeses are superb. And likewise to their spices. Their adjacent liquor store is good also. Their staff is very helpful in asking your proof of age no matter how old you are. Although Wegman's isn't my supermarket of choice, there is no denying they have a lot of variety and options that others don't provide. They have an extensive hot foods area, pizza, sandwiches, sushi, Chinese and more. They have a huge liquor store attached to this location as well which has great prices. This place can get really hectic but it is a very massive store so you can generally deal with it. I find the setup of this location to be a bit strange because you walk in on the far end and there are things to the left and to the right, it just leaves me constantly forgetting something - it could just be me though. read more

Such a disappointing experience! We used to love going to Wegmans on a Saturday and grab some lunch and sit upstairs. They got rid of their fresh prepared food section. Everything is now prepackaged and very expensive. The Ocean Wegman's is just another grocery store with some specialty items. I LOVE Wegmans I am so excited that there is a Wegmans near my office in NJ as I have the option to purchase my weekly groceries at one of my favorite supermarkets now which is a PLUS PLUS. This Wegmans is large just like the one other Wegmans I've experienced in Columbia,MD. This location isn't as large as the Columbia location where we first discovered Wegmans and fell in love with it. The parking lot is well lit, there are plenty of carts when you enter and lots of stocked veggies and fruit to welcome you when you walk into the main entrance. The options are endless from fresh foods to processed foods to bulk items and more. The Hot Bar and Salad bar are not as large as I expected but they are both sufficient for someone to grab a nice hot or cold meal. There are a lot of sales and great value throughout this large supermarket. I totally enjoy a good Wegmans visit as I get my cardio plus some good finds from healthy snacks and food to junk food and more. The staff at this location (cashiers, customer service and deli staff are those I have encountered) are very friendly and helpful. I signed up for a new Wegmans card as I haven't had one since 2010 and couldn't recall our old home number in Maryland. I decided to complete the comment card at the customer service desk as I know that people tend to write down reviews or speak to management 99% of the time when something is WRONG and only 10-25% of people write reviews or speak to customer service when things are right. I look to always be the person who does both and refuse to only write about bad places as there are plenty of good places out there and this place is one. The only thing that is different that I looked for here that wasn't present is the samples. The only supermarket I go to! My toddler gets upset if we go to another one lol. They are very kid friendly. They have car carts for the kids and a chop chop train in the supermarket to entertain them. They also offer up front parking for people with children! Whenever I ask a staff for help with finding an item they are always eager and willing to help! Great staff in every department there. They also have almost everything and anything you can dream of. I was a bit surprised when my mom suggested we go to Wegmans for a quick bite to eat. I had always known Costco had a great hot food selection, but I didn't know Wegmans also had goodies. We got fried rice and vegetables from the buffet, and sushi (obviously not from the buffet). Let me start by saying the fried rice was total garbage. It was gross and just totally void of flavor. There was no seasoning -- even lacking a basic amount of salt! Not worth it whatsoever. He vegetables were fine, I suppose. Not the greatest or most flavorful veggies, but they seemed healthy and that's what you want when eating them. The sushi was the best part of our meal. It was simple tuna and salmon rolls, but the fish didn't taste old or anything. I would get it again if I were craving sushi. Overall, I would come back for the hot foods. I wouldn't get the fried rice or the veggies, but other choices seemed good, too. At $5.22 and $5.98, the fried rice and veggies were not worth it. The sushi was $13.99, which is a bit more than I'm comfortable with for the product, but it was so much better than the other stuff so I was okay with it. I think next time I'll try the soup, a sub or some pizza. read more

This has to be by far the best supermarket I've ever been to! You walk into Wegmans and you are transported to a housewife's dream! Let's start on my favorite side, the food side! Pizza, pasta, salad, Chinese, sushi, subs, deli items and coffee. Anything you want to grab freshly made for lunch or dinner is there. Close to it is the bakery, a whole row of fresh breads and sweet goodies just waiting to be scooped up and brought home to enjoy. After you've stuffed your face, because you know no one should grocery shop on an empty stomach. Feel free to peruse the aisles and find whatever your home may need. On top of all the regular grocery items Wegmans has different cheeses, a large organic section and a beauty section to boot! Always a polite, friendly, helpful staff. Ocean Wegman's is well lit and very clean. I have asked occasionally for an item they did not stock but almost always within a week the Ocean Wegmans had acquired it for me and enough extra to sell to other folks. Each year (because I asked to purchase it first year they opened) they bring in at least a case of individual packages of food grade beef suet that I utilize to feed the birds. I have entire families of woodpeckers thanks to Wegmans. This is just the type of store they are and it is normal for them go out of their way to be a one stop food store. Time for an update on Wegmans as well - after three years of shopping here I must admit that they do the best job at providing a nice customer grocery shopping experience. No big discounts here at Wegmans because they have very fair prices to begin with unlike A&P, Shoprite and Foodtown who mark their prices up in order to discount them back down. These other stores would rate two stars each in my book. As far as their liquor store it has become my go place for just about all of my wine purchases. No one can touch their prices on a per bottle basis and their selection has now evolved to a decent stock of wines from California as well as other countries. Simply put Wegmans is in a class by themselves in providing best in class service, fair grocery pricing and value wine and liquor pricing. I've been a Wegmans customer for over 5 years and today I will no longer be one. I changed banks and wrote a check that was denied. The store has no respect and it became everyone behind the counters business when it should not have been. I left very angry and they even called me rude when they aren't fit to deal with customers without embarrassing them. I called and reported them to corporate only to find out none of it needed to happen and that they could override the issue. The staff at the Ocean Township store is incompetent and they are rude. You just lost my business and don't deserve to be in business yourself. It's the holidays and this isn't how you treat people. read more

I do like Wegmans. My staple buys are the Organic sourdough loaf, the skinless salmon, organic produce, fruits, and once in a while I grab a pack of lemon squares.
