I have no complains regarding the weed, however the customer service sucks. The website contains products labeled as available online, yet it's sold out when you come in. The workers can't even answer any questions regarding weed and the differences (except a few). The manager doesn't have any professional skill. When I asked for a manager to resolve an issue with my online order, they simply used a worker as a messenger instead of addressing me themselves regarding the situation. Something so simple can determine a customers experience and weigh on their decisions when choosing a dispensary. "Find your Zen" yet you won't find any there. Your Zen gets ruined before you're able to smoke some. Fix the customer service to align with the logo. It's "cash only" at Zen Leaf Neptune - giving that seedy vibe (pun intended). Yes, there are ATMs. I don't know what the fees are as fortunately I was carrying cash. I bought a disposable vape on 4/20. Smoked half it and then it died. Went to go charge it and there's no charging port. I called Zen and all they offered was 50% another disposable vape!! I HAVE THE RECEIPT!! I threw away the tube it came in because hello it was garbage. I don't save garbage. I'll never buy another cart from zen and this put a really bad taste in my mouth that they can't replace it even with the receipt. I wasted money!! They were well educated and were honest about not knowing some stuff then finding someone who can. With the subsequent legalization of mary jane here in the state of NJ, it was exciting to finally be able to purchase the stuff from a legal retailer, instead of skulking around dark alleys and seedy parking lots. That said, having been here three times now - I'm honestly not really keen on going back anytime soon. This place is in dire need of better management, preferably ones that actually trust their employees. Very high prices as well, with some vape carts running $80+ for a *half* gram. My first visit here was actually quite nice - back in August I went on a random Tuesday I had off, and it was a breeze. The store was clean, there was practically no line to speak of, and everything moved along fairly smoothly, in and out in under 15 minutes. Both times AFTER however, have been nothing short of a disaster, and it doesn't seem to matter which day you go. Lines will stretch outside the door, and each individual customer's transaction takes upwards of 5-8 minutes (they clearly don't trust their employees and double-check every order by a manager), utterly snarling everything to a crawl. Expect to be stuck in here for 1 - 1.5 hrs. They advertise using the pre-order system online to have a much easier time, and I did this for my third visit - and it somehow was WORSE. Having gotten tired of all the waiting, I decided to order ahead of time and just pick it up. Should be simple enough, right? Well, it would be if the management here knew how to actually prioritize customers - I got into the building, the pre-order line was easily DOUBLE that of the "walk in" line, and by the time I had gotten up to the counter, people who walked in 20+ minutes after me (no preorder) had already paid and left. You have 6+ cashiers, guys - dedicate 1-2 to medical (shortest line), 3 to pre-order (until the line dies down) and only ONE for walk-in until you can get this mess under control. Yes, it'll suck for the people who walked in to have to wait longer, but the entire point of pre-order is to "skip the line". All of us in line agreed - DON'T BOTHER PRE-ORDERING unless you want to wait 2x as long as a walk-in. Whatever system they have in place is flat out broken. Cashiers are friendly, and it's not their fault that their manager utterly botched this, they were trying. Lesson learned though, whenever / if I ever go back here, I'm never going to preorder again, since I don't appreciate being actively punished for having had the foresight to order ahead. read more

I specifically came to this store for sativa flower and the guy gave me hybrid. I didn't realize it till I got home. I could understand if this was the only time this happed but it wasn't. I see a few bad reviews and couldn't imagine why as of course you should call and check availability before going to the business in question as well as you can't return medication why would you be able to return this but my experience here was much different from others as I was treated with kindness. I was in and out the door in under 12 minutes no wait no issues this was mind you on a Friday. The staff was very quick to help me find what I wanted as well as willing to show me all of my options. My dispensary card arrived today and I went right to the Zen Leaf on Asbury Circle virtually across the street from me. The people at the front desk were very kind and professional. The receptionist inside put me with a representative at a long bar humming with people elbow to elbow. I had assumed that I was a patient going to a pharmacy, and some privacy would be observed. Wrong. The representative, by the name of James, showed me the menu on a tablet and I told him exactly what I was looking to happen. I wanted a strain to relieve my anxiety. Since it was my first time, I asked a lot of questions and asked for clarifications about what he said. I am 65 and don't see as well as I used to. He misinterpreted something I said because he pointed me to some hybrid strains instead of Indica, which is what I went in for. It felt like he was not listening very closely, not least because it was noisy. I asked him what I would need to use my selected product. He said all I needed was a battery, but it had to be a particular kind. I asked if I could bring my purchase back if it did not work with the ones I had at home, and he turned to his colleague hardly concealing his laughter and the colleague said no I could not bring it back. He was laughing and apparently sharing some joke with his colleagues behind the counter. I asked him what about this was funny and he had nothing to say but just kept grinning in my face. He said I could buy a battery for $10, which I did. At that point, I thought better than to tell him that I have a PhD from Yale, am a published author, and have taught at top universities, so I'm not used to being taken for an idiot. I've been in retail all my life, and when I go into a store, I don't want to hear laughter at all unless it's to a joke that I told. Don't we all think at least some seriousness is warranted? If I go into a CVS to pick up a prescription for an anti-anxiety medication, do I expect the pharmacist to be laughing and acting like oh this is so great everyone's just getting high wink wink it's medication? I was treated in an unprofessional manner and I left there feeling disrespected. I like the convenience of this store near my house, but there's another dispensary pretty close by. Since leaving the review below just 2 or 3 weeks ago, there have been noticeable improvements! Preorders are filled when you check in, so if there's a couple of people in front of you, it's being filled while you wait. Management is aware of the wait times and even reached out me from Chicago to hear about my experiences. They're doing everything they can to prioritize medical and basically two levels of recreational (walk up and pre-order) in a way that's fair to everyone, (and required by law!). One thing I didn't mention below is that the staff overall is great. Everyone is greeted with a smile and the counter folks are knowledgeable and can always answer questions when needed. Old review: I have to agree with other reviews that the pre order system and line management needs help. I've had the same experience of waiting longer in the pre order line than if I had just gotten in the walk up line. Today, the app seems to have been updated and finally allowed my recreational pick up order to go through before they opened at 8 AM, without requiring a medical ID number. When I arrived at 8:15, they couldn't find my order in the system. I showed them the confirmation text, but I was directed to the walk up line, even though the pre order line was empty. Of course, the pre order line then started to fill up and since that line gets priority, I waited about a half hour for what should have been a 10 minute transaction. Also, it doesn't seem like pre orders are ever pre-filled. The employee still has to look up the order, find the product and have it verified. Pre-orders should be ready to go and only need to be paid for when the customer arrives. read more

After they just switched to recreational and medical recently... super weird we drove 30 minutes to be turned away and I've been to the one in Elizabeth farther away with no issues or hassle at all. Came here 3 different times, having gone to all 3 locations, I can't seem to understand why this location is so horrible. First off there is always a 30 plus minute wait. Last time it was 40 minutes. I just got back for the Elizabeth location and didn't wait a second. Actually every single time there is no waiting at the Elizabeth store. What is the point of online ordering if I have to wait for people placing an order and it taking 5 minutes per customer. Again the Elizabeth location has a spot where you don't wait.
