I contacted PK Landscaping after hurricane Milton on Saturday 10/12/24 to have my neighbor's tree that was a danger to our home trimmed. The owner visited me around 18:45 that evening to quote me a price. He quoted me for what I believed was to cut down 2 trees. He said that he would come by the next day, Sunday 10/13/24 as he was booked for the week. I waited at home the entire day, no one showed, and no one called to let us know they wouldn't be coming. The owner called me Monday morning 10/14/24 to let me know he would be at my home in about 30 minutes. While cutting the tree, I heard a large bang and assumed that a large tree trunk that was being cut had just fallen on the ground. I went outside to find the trunk very close to our home but not quite touching it so it didn't look as if it caused any damage. I went back out again after a while to see how things were coming along and noticed that there was a ladder up against the roof. The side of the roof fascia seemed to have some damage, the owner went up the ladder and was trying to repair something. I wasn't sure what he was doing but I assumed it had something to do with a dent that was caused during hurricane Milton. The owner never mentioned to me that the tree he was cutting down fell on our roof. After the work was completed and the crew began cleaning up, I noticed that they had only trimmed some of the trees. This is not what we had agreed to on Saturday. The owner led me to believe that he would be cutting both trees down. I didn't argue but I did implore the owner to be clearer with his communication going forward. It was the end of the day when he was giving me the quote and he seemed to be in a hurry. I believe that was the cause of our miscommunication. I paid what was agreed to and thanked him and the crew for their efforts. After surveying the area again, I noticed that there was a considerable amount of damage to the roof fascia that wasn't there before. I decided to look at my cameras and saw that not only did they drop the tree trunk on my roof they failed to let me know and instead tried to cover up the damage. The owner and workers seemed nice enough, but I can't escape the feeling of being taken advantage of. I hope that anyone planning on using their services asks that they explain exactly what they will be doing for the quoted price so that they don't come away feeling like they were swindled. I would also advise that you always keep a close eye on them because you can't trust that they will be honest if they cause any damage to your property. I feel that the landscaping crew had a lot of appointments and instead of taking care not to cause any property damage, they rushed through the work, caused damage to my home. They also didn't do the work that was quoted and never alerted me to the damage they caused to our roof. I have also tried to contact the owner but he is no longer returning my calls. read more
