Unhelpful,
patronising, misleading and anti-forces My
wife and I went to PC World this bank holiday in order to take advantage of their
so called special bank holiday offers. We were initially promised that the chap
we spoke to the previous Thursday would be there with his manager to give
us a great deal. I personally didn't think this offer was credible because
I had heard about previous issues customers had had with PC World and customer
care (and lack thereof) etc.
We turned up on Sat to find that the chap who had spoken to us on the Thursday
was not in the store. After a short delay another salesman approached us and
said he would do us a deal. After much deliberation we decided on a Samsung
laptop which was tagged up as £399, the deal being printer cartridges were
thrown in. We paid for the laptop and left the shop only to make the long
journey home and discover that it was the wrong one. I phoned the store in
order to ensure that I could do a straight swap if I made the inconvenient
drive back. The PC World rep assured me that the one I wanted was in stock and
that it would be placed by the tills for a straight swap as soon as I arrived.
This did not happen. It
transpires that the laptop pricing label was the wrong one for the model shown
in store. I asked whether we could get this one as a mark of good faith,
especially as I was about to deploy to Afghanistan the following week.they
declined. After about 50 minutes waiting in store attempting to resolve the
issue, the 'customer service manager', Darrell, got involved. He was unapologetic,
patronising and down-right rude. We left without so much as an apology. We
spent half a day hanging around waiting for the incompetent PC World staff to
rectify what could have been corrected in a matter of minutes. What
ever happened to the customer comes first? I miss this conceptPC World have
clearly never heard of itdisgraceful and unacceptable. read more
