DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP!!!!…read more This is a business run by very crafty owners/employees. I went to this shop to simply get my charging port replaced. My phone was in perfect working condition bar the charging port. The gorilla replaced the port and said it works fine now. I got home and put it on charge and guess what it still didn't charge. I took it back for him to say it must be my cable and said I should buy a new cable. I go to try it again at home and it still does not work. I go back again and ask for him to fix the charging port and a refund on the cable, he did actually fix the port this time but refused to give me a refund on the cable because I couldn't prove I bought it from them (they didn't issue a receipt for it). I now have a phone that is charging but once the phone is on I discover a load more problems. The screen is ruined, the battery life is depleted and I have very poor signal. Now I recently to it to another phone repair place (the is one literally opposite this shop) and they were brilliant. But when they opened my phone they realised that the battery inside was not the original (I've never had my battery replaced). The guy told me that it was very common practise for The Phone Shop to take out the original battery and replace it with a very poor one. This means that when you come to realise that your battery is not working, you will go back to The Phone Shop where they will sell you back your original battery for a high price. I would also like say that when my phone was reopened after The Phone Shop's awful job, the guy told me there was loads of screws missing and there was a piece of paper left in my phone. Moral of the story: go anywhere but The Phone Shop to get your phone fixed, they are cons who know nothing about phones.

The guy told me it was a common fault, would cost £25 to fix, and would be ready at closing time. I came back at six, he hasn't tested it but said "I'm sure it's fine, bring it back if there's any problems". Surprise surprise, when I got home the phone still wasn't charging. I took it back the next time I was in Bristol (a few days later) and pointed out that he hadn't fixed it. The guy took it back (no apology), and told me to call back in an hour. When I come back, the phone is at last working and he powers it on to prove. Get home. Switch on phone, now the home button isn't working. Grrrr. I took it back yet again and of course I got no apology for wasting my time, the guy just made a puzzled face and started tinkering with it (as if I wasn't there). After five minutes he said "ok all done, thanks bye". I tested it in front of him and the home button still isn't doing anything. No apology again, he just said "that's strange", followed by another five minutes of pulling at the button with a screwdriver. Finally "ok I think it's done". I tested it myself and finally it was working (though considering what he's done, I'm wondering how long it'll last). Still no apology, he just said "ok thanks bye" and pulls out his own phone and started messing with it. Total joker. Avoid.

Kat was an angel, patiently and efficiently steering me through the decision making process, and setting up my new phone, transferring everything from the old one (that had unexpectedly gone into its death throes). I had been dreading the whole experience, especially as I am useless at doing setups on a new device etc, and Kat removed all that angst for me. There was also a very pleasant lady who did the 'meet and greet'. All in all, I cannot fault the store or its staff, and was particularly impressed with Kat, her expertise, and patient and pleasant manner in dealing with a very stressed me! They got my phone lost in transit. They are not returning my repairs fee also. It has been over 2 months now and still no cooperation. They are disconnecting my calls, not responding on my email and not returning the repairs fee. They are earning their business because of phone brands like Xiaomi and One plus only but when they lose the phone, they tell it is China phone and not worth the repair. On following up for the repairs money, they make false stories, hang up on me and will start screaming. They have no right to keep my repairs fee if they didn't provide the service. In my case after the phone was lost, I got some money because the couriers company was good. Had it been for Tronixcity, I wouldn't have got a single penny. Severe action should be taken against them for playing with emotions of innocent.

In the event, nonetheless, of having locked your phone or needing a new SIM this handy place on Stokes Croft, I am sure, can help out. Admittedly on the one occasion I have gone to this shop looking for a phone the gentleman told me I'd be better going to Tesco where it's cheaper. This, in my opinion, reflects the good man's honesty. This is a business that is very much a service centre. They advertise services that if you want you'll go in for and if you don't you'll just carry on by.

The last four years have definitely tested him in every conceivable way! I have recently been back in touch with Tony about a cracked iPhone screen. Yes, i broke mine too! I had been quoted silly money to get it fixed; originally a whopping £180, and subsequently £120, and £100. The latter quote is from a great little indie mobile phone shop in Weston-Super-Mare, called Phone Tek Nation, but they don't always have the parts, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. They said they'd contact me when the new iPhone supplies arrived. This was over a week ago, and they had already been waiting a further week since the order. So either Apple can't produce enough spares for these darned fragile bits of kit, or else I've been lost amid a sea of other iPhone users that have also dropped their phones.... I'm glad I thought to call Unlock It, because guess what? As always, the price I've been quoted beats all the rest by a mile!! He has quoted me £69.00!!! This is Tony's forte! he beats everyone on price and gets the job done. By the way, it was Abri at Tudor Mobile Services that put me onto Phone Tek Nation as he doesn't presently service iPhones, and knew I needed a quick fix. He's also in Weston, in the lovely Tudor Mall, opposite Lloyds TSB, and works with most models of phones, keeping the price extremely competitive.
