Perhaps it is a world I don't know much about; an industry with which I am not acquainted. The…read moreworld of unlocking mobile phones, regardless, has always confused me. When a phone is locked would one not assume it is the result of a little foul play? True, one may have forgotten their PIN number a few times but this slight and easily avoidable error would have to occur many times to necessitate the opening of an entire shop. In the event, nonetheless, of having locked your phone or needing a new SIM this handy place on Stokes Croft, I am sure, can help out. Admittedly on the one occasion I have gone to this shop looking for a phone the gentleman told me I'd be better going to Tesco where it's cheaper. This, in my opinion, reflects the good man's honesty. This is a business that is very much a service centre. They advertise services that if you want you'll go in for and if you don't you'll just carry on by.

Tony, at Unlock It UK, set up in business on a shoestring about four years ago. Despite a zero…read morepromotional budget, being a one-man-band, and also subject to the vagaries of the economy, he has survived thus far with his sanity in tact. The last four years have definitely tested him in every conceivable way! I have recently been back in touch with Tony about a cracked iPhone screen. Yes, i broke mine too! I had been quoted silly money to get it fixed; originally a whopping £180, and subsequently £120, and £100. The latter quote is from a great little indie mobile phone shop in Weston-Super-Mare, called Phone Tek Nation, but they don't always have the parts, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. They said they'd contact me when the new iPhone supplies arrived. This was over a week ago, and they had already been waiting a further week since the order. So either Apple can't produce enough spares for these darned fragile bits of kit, or else I've been lost amid a sea of other iPhone users that have also dropped their phones.... I'm glad I thought to call Unlock It, because guess what? As always, the price I've been quoted beats all the rest by a mile!! He has quoted me £69.00!!! This is Tony's forte! he beats everyone on price and gets the job done. By the way, it was Abri at Tudor Mobile Services that put me onto Phone Tek Nation as he doesn't presently service iPhones, and knew I needed a quick fix. He's also in Weston, in the lovely Tudor Mall, opposite Lloyds TSB, and works with most models of phones, keeping the price extremely competitive.

There expertise can help fix mobile phone faults, problems with ipods, ipads, apple products, xbox 360s, playstations, PC's and laptops. A very useful technical fix is there mobile phone unlocking service. The Sim Tek people aim to fix the phone while you wait rather than the 28 day service most high street stores offer. If you're in a pinch and need something fixed quickly without the extra cost of sending it away to be looked at Sim Tek offer the best service around. The shop itself is very small and over cluttered, which is to be expected of a electronic repair shop the outside advertises all the different services they perform and that leaves little room to let light in, so it's a bit dingy inside.

I'm glad I don't inhabit Sim Tech World, and instead lead a rustic existence, but I have had reason…read moreof late to thank my lucky stars that shops like Sim Tech World exist. Like so many before me, I managed to drop my iPhone several times before the screen ultimately smashed. It was of course, only a matter of time before this was inevitably going to happen... but did I think to take out insurance to protect myself in this eventuality? Well, yes I did... But whether I got round to actually doing it is an entirely different matter! So, with the exorbitant cost of getting Apple to fix it for me, I began a quest that lasted well over a month to find a indie mobile phone shop like Sim Tech World that would do it cheaper. It ultimately cost a staggering £80.00 to get the screen replaced, but I had, in the meantime, damaged the LCD screen, making the job more expensive, (well, it was actually my neighbours cat jumping directly onto the broken screen in an attempt to catch a moth that put paid to the LCD screen in reality...) I didn't end up using Sim Tech World, but it certainly made me aware of their existence. They are seemingly a tight little business, that specialises in mobiles and home computing, including PC and Apple laptops, games consoles etc, as well as digital cameras; essentially all of your portable electronics that you can bring into the shop for attention, (thy don't do home visits). They also call themselves an 'entertainment exchange', which, as the name suggests, means that they sell second user kit as well.

They have a shop on Midland Raod just off Old Market and also on Gloucester Road in Bishopston. When my last computer broke down I used these guys for a bit f advice. Unfortunately there was no chance of repairing it, but they were very helpful and gave a number of other options to proceed with, including offering me their stock of computers to choose from. If you are having problems, if its a software issue they'll be able to fix it remotely, by gaining access to your computer and then fixing the problem from their office (obviously you have to give consent for this and they'll stay on the phone with you whilst they're fixing it). I reckon that's a really good idea and saves on a lot of cost (both for the customer and the company). Whilst this can help sort out the issue, if it's a hardware roblem then they'll have to attend your house or take the computer away for repair. Either way, their an impressive small outfit and worth a try.

The guy in the store was really helpful, filled in all the required forms for me, sent it off and called to let me know when it was ready to be fixed. However my husband then had a problem with his phone, brought it into the same 3 store and they wouldn't help him saying he had to bring it back to the store he bought it from or somewhere else. Can't see why they helped me but wouldn't help me except for the fact that I'm girly and helpless ;-) I've now had the same problem happen to my phone as my husband has had. I reset all the settings on my phone and had to delete a load of files in order to get it to work occasionally. I turned off the Email on 3 function and that seems to be solving the problem. Don't particularly want to have to trek all over town just to find out what store will be willing to fix my phone fixed, if you want a job done, do it yourself!
