I have been to Oy a few times now and it has progressively gotten worse. The food is always decent but the service is just extremely below par. Do not be sat with Parker, unless you enjoy a rude, snarky, passive aggressive waitress. I have been served by her two times now. Initially I assumed that maybe she was having a bad day, however the second time eating with her I realized that she is genuinely just rude. On the bright side I was once served by Jazzy, who is an amazing waitress. I loved her laid back and helpful energy and will ask for her by name if I do make my way back to Oy in the future. Overall, the food is amazing but Parker is not. Note to management: Having a rude waitress like Parker is extremely bad for business. It was enough to turn me away for a bit and I imagine it has had the same effect on others. read more

The waitress we have gotten both times was short and never refilled my water or even asked. The interior seems clean but the seats r metal and cold in the winter and uncomfortable. We have eaten at Oy many times and bring guests there when they are visiting from out of town. There's typically a wait but the staff works diligently to get you seated as quickly as possible. The pancakes are absurdly large ... so large that they give you a pizza box for the leftovers. I typically get an egg sandwich and it's consistently excellent. Service is always top notch. read more

I follow this restaurant on IG and decided to take a ride to try them out and I am so glad that we did. We had to wait about 30 mins but it was well worth it! People were all outside waiting so 30 mins was nothing to me. The food was delish, our waitress was super nice, and the prices are great! Great food, great service. Came here with a party of ten and the wait staff was excellent. The coffee is hot and perfectly brewed to a medium taste and smoothness. I opted for the Cajun omelette with a biscuit and a side of sausage gravy. The omelette comes in two sizes and I chose the large . A better option for me next time is the small as the large is a 1/2 12" plate size omelette loaded with onions , peppers , andouille sausage, and cheese. It is not spicy but is a flavor bomb. The biscuits are about 3/1/2" size and I don't believe are scratch made here at the restaurant but they are hit flaky and delicious nonetheless. The gravy is not scratch either but is very good quality with pieces of flavorful sausage throughout. This is a very casual open restaurant. Parking is ample and you should get here closer to 8AM rather than 10AM if you are bothered by crowds as the weekend brunch crowd can be hectic. Pricing is commensurate with the food quality and level of service although as with everything, about 25% higher than it used to be. All in all a solid choice for breakfast that is in the mid-upscale range. Expect to pay around 15-20 per person for most items on menu with drinks. read more

This restaurant is really good! I love the fact that they have gluten free options. I ordered the stairmaster omelette with gluten-free toast and side of grits... AND the gluten free chocolate chip pancakes, which are HUGE, even at the smaller 7in size.. Yes I was being greedy and wanted to take some home for an afternoon snack. I got the regular size omelette which came with 3 egg whites, spinach and mushrooms and I chose pepper jack cheese instead of the swiss that is suggested. The grits are nice and seasoned already so I didn't have to add anything to them. And the pancake was so good I just took a few bites, and didn't even put syrup on it but I may add some when I get home. I was just too full so I only are a few bites, but I had to taste it! This is my first time at this restaurant, and I haven't stopped telling people about it! It was a welcoming ambiance, and we got seated quickly (given that it was 10am on a Tuesday LOL). To keep things short -- great food, great service, great experience. 10/10. Everyone working had a great attitude, especially our server, Amelia. She was super attentive and caring. I got a hot chocolate which was. a little messy, but she placed it on some extra napkins. Very very delicious. I normally get french toast at breakfast places, so I asked our server what the french toast casserole was, since I haven't heard anything like it before. She explained how they made it, and gave us a few minutes to think it over. The food came out surprisingly quickly. I ended up going with the Healthy Choice Plate, which was magnificent. Scrambled egg whites with wheat toast and turkey sausage. I substituted blueberries for fresh strawberries. Extremely disappointing and terrible experience because of the hostess and overall service. I'll leave it to the reader's discretion to decide if this is a case of racism, but we definitely did not feel welcomed here. I hope others never have to experience the same. TLDR: 1) The hostess seated another party of 2 before us, even after they told her we were first (thank you to them). 2) When it was time to be seated, she told us to seat ourselves--though she walked every other group to their table. 3) We sat there for another 10+ minutes without menus, without water, without any acknowledgement from the staff who walked by us several times. CONTEXT: My mom and I were one of the only POC (people of color) in the room. There was a young Indian couple who were seated, and an African American family of 3 had just left after finishing their meal. FULL STORY: I entered the restaurant around similar times as another two separate parties of 2. I waited in front of the hostess stand, with the other parties behind me in line, one to my left & one to my right. The hostess was taking a phone order, so we all waited patiently. There were a few other groups that were also waiting before we got there, but there were clearly empty tables, though it was starting to get busier. When the hostess finished her call, she seated each of those groups who had been waiting since before we all (the 3 different parties to 2, including me & mom) entered. When it came to addressing us, she looked past me and spoke to the lady behind me, who then told her that I was first. Following the lady's comment, the couple to the right of me explained the order was 1) me 2) them (couple) 3) the lady the hostess first chose to speak to. The hostess proceeded to tell me (#1) and the lady (#3) that there were two tables being cleaned now, so we could be seated in a few minutes. But went ahead and seated the couple (#2) at a table that was already ready near the door. We were all confused for a second, as the order was just explained but no one complained because we knew tables were being cleaned off. Our table is now clean, but the hostess has not acknowledged us yet. So we wait. But we notice that she continues to try to help new guests who come in rather than bringing us to our table. So I asked her if our table was ready and if we could sit down. She responds she needs to check with the wait staff to see if they would be able to take on our table, with a tone doubtful that they would, but returns to tell us to seat ourselves--not taking us to the table like she did with every other group in the room. My mom and I walk over to the table to have a seat. Then we waited for another 10+ minutes, without menus, without water, without acknowledgement from any of the employees who has walked by several times. At this point we have continuously been ignored despite being patient, so we decided to leave peacefully without having being able to have a meal. Throughout the entire experience, we tried to be patient and understanding, as we are also veterans of the restaurant business. However, we were ignored, overlooked, and disrespected, and I sincerely hope others do not experience the same in the future. read more

Not on a main drag, but well worth finding. I pass this place every time I go to Publix, and wondered about it. It's just a breakfast and brunch place that's fairly small. I ordered a simple breakfast as always, (hard to mess that up). I have been disappointed in some restaurants with this, so when trying a new place, I always stick to the same order; eggs, potatoes, turkey sausage, and pancakes. The server was a young man, who was very friendly and attentive. The decor was rustic and quaint, and very clean. The food arrived fresh and hot. The eggs were done to perfection, as was everything else. The pancake took an entire plate of its own. I highly recommend this one. I'll get back here to brunch one day soon. read more

My hubby and I were looking for a new breakfast spot to try! Gosh, once we saw the pictures of the giant pancakes....how could we not try OY Buford? The service was really great, very friendly waitress. The food came fairly quickly and yes the giant pancake was yummy! Soft in the middle and a little crispy on the edges...oh yes!! Perfect! We even took an oreo pancake home for our teenager and he really enjoyed it. Only negative comment would be that neither of us liked the grits, they had a strange consistency and taste? Not sure what that was all about, but it did not dampen our experience and we would definitely be back. They were out of ....i think they were called chocolate bombs, omg my husband has been wanting to try one of these since he heard about them months ago. I was craving a nice hearty breakfast and got just that. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelette with home fries with the "small" pancake and OJ. The food came ridiculously fast. Like in under 10 minutes. It was hot and pretty good. The pancake was huge, I didn't eat a quarter of it but it was tasty. My server, Chris was awesome! He said I was his second table ever cause he was new so I went easy on him lol he was very attentive and got every detail of my order correct and checked on me the perfect amount of times.
