I started out at the old Oxnard VA clinic, and got moved to a couple of temporary clinics before ending up at this one, which I am no longer at, thank God. My first primary there was dismissed, although she was the only primary physician there at the time and had an enormous caseload. The next two primaries I had both refused to refer me to the LA ortho clinic, which has cost me untold pain and suffering, and I have gone the last four years at the Oxnard clinic without ever having met my primary physician. I would call or message through the VA website and the response would be, oh he/she isn't here anymore. They, the clinic, canceled my last four appointments, two with only a couple of days' notice. The support staff, the nurses and techs, were OK, but the care teams really didn't seem very interested in patient care. I'm at the new Ventura clinic now, with a primary physician who is a long term VA employee, not a short term Triwest contractor who will be gone before my next canceled appointment. I got a p.a. and a doctor who actually looked at my charts before they saw me. That never happened at Oxnard. read more
