Once we found the entrance to the theater though, we saw the posters for the show and were met with welcoming faces so we were more at ease. This is a small, intimate theater that really allows you to fully immerse yourself into the show. I had been eager to see the Last Five Years and this production did not disappoint. The actors did a WONDERFUL job & I loved being able to see every facial expression to enhance their beautiful voices. I actually felt fortunate to see the show in that venue because it gave such an up close and personal feeling. The theater looks like it has other great shows coming up like God of Carnage and a Midsummer Night's Dream. I definitely plan on coming back.

It was a limited menu of typical bar food. One person took the order. One person made the drinks and another made sure you signed your card if using one. You could only pay for each order. No leaving your card and running a tab. The music was fabulous and the people were all very friendly.

My bride (of 40 years) & I started taking ballroom dance lessons last May and love our weekly…read morelessons with Patricia. She is a crack up and great at getting us guys to lead and not look at our feet:-). We've made it through three 6 week classes of ballroom and really enjoy dancing the waltz, foxtrot & tango. We have recently been taking swing classes and are having a blast. She and her associate Ron are excellent instructors and make learning fun and fairly easy. It is amazing to watch her flawlessly dance the female or male part while teaching her students. She keeps the lessons fun and productive. House of Dance has several types of dance classes to choose from. In addition to the above they currently have classes in Zumba, salsa, hustle, Polynesian, and of course private lessons for many others. They also host dance parties almost every Friday evening which are great opportunities to practice what you are learning, remember what you previously learned and meet some wonderful people.

She hadn't taken a dance class in years and was a bit nervous. She loved the class right away! Miss Brittany is so good with kids and I love how she makes up creative ways to describe the moves instead of just doing 8 counts (see video)! They also do fun things in class like choreographing short dances of their own. They got to ride on a float in Ventura's St. Patrick's Day parade in March and perform at a small recital in May. My usually nervous-to-be-on-a-stage daughter got up there and confidently performed with sass and smiles (a lot of credit for that goes to Miss Brittany in the crowd dancing along where they could see her). All the kids from the dancing/musical theatre classes were amazing! I highly recommend The Creative Arts Academy for kids who want to have a good time while learning to dance/act/sing!
