Well written, cast was excellent and the Elite Theater staff made us all feel we were in their home as guests. Complimentary wine and snacks after the opening, and just all around good fun. This intimate theater was clean, inviting and up to the gills in charm. It's a hike from LA, not gonna lie, but worth the trip.

And the owner and host MC Andres Fernandez is himself a really funny guy :). Andres seats you when you first walk in. He's incredibly warm and friendly with his booming announcer voice and wide, genuine smile. The cocktail waitresses are prompt with their service and also very friendly and courteous. My only small negative is that the drinks were weak. I could not really taste the vodka in my Cape Cod and normally one sip of Long Island Iced Tea renders me incapacitated for about 5 minutes, but Steve's drink could have been easily gulped down by me with without gagging (that says a lot about how weak the drink is and, more obviously, how much of a pro drinker I am! LOL) The decor is very nice - blue is my favorite color and there's no shortage of it. It adds to the appeal of the room, making it fun, professional, and relaxing. I haven't been disappointed with the comics that come out with their exuberance and energy. I love a good belly laugh and definitely got that during the two times I was there. Whoever picks the comics is doing a great job :). I highly recommend coming here. $15 per person is a heck of a deal for hours of laughter!

I moved to Oxnard from northern California, so I didn't have a whole lot of friends down here. I found out about NEMA through the Bellydance club at Oxnard CC and decided to give it a try in an attempt to get more exercise and boost my self esteem. I got way more than I bargained for! Besides the exercise and a regular reminder that I'm a beautiful woman, I got a group of friends who have stuck by me through all the challenges of being in a new place, and a breakup I went through. Not only that, but I got study buddies, confidence boosting moments on stage, and endless moments of love and laughter. I'm so glad NEMA came into my life when it did I like doing the classes on the weekends the most, but sometimes the night classes work with my busy schedule too. The teachers are all really experienced and offer a wide selection of different dances to learn. The studio is comfy and chic with a well stocked tea and snack bar that they stock with the help of member donations. Sometimes I find kids playing in the back and watching cartoons while their mom's dance (super kid friendly place) and their costume selection makes me feel like a little girl playing dress up! The best part is that I can go study there if I really need it, and because so many of the members are college graduates and students, I can often find help when I need it. The whole place is the definition of supportive and community based.

As a parent one always wants to indulge their children in the cute little things life offers. We asked the owner a simple question and she replied it's in the hand out. We asked her for help logging onto her website she replied, "Everyone else can do it." We took our child out and as she grew older we decided to give it another try. We found ourselves in the same dilemma. The owner is very condescending when one asks for help. I will never go to this place again. As an adult I am not in the practice of paying someone to be arrogant, condescending or rude to my family.

They don't really allow parents to watch which is why I took off one star. I loved watching my daughter dancing. They don't have a lot of sitting inside but they have more sitting available outside. Everything looked clean which I liked. I might sign her up again once we are done with other activities we are doing at the moment.
