Give it a try!…read more Long version: I used to dance competitive hip hop on a collegiate team years ago and have always wanted to go back, but studios like Snowglobe and Offstage are a trek from Camarillo. So I stopped. I was hesitant at first because a lot of studios in the area are tailored to children or workout programs for adults. But when I looked at classes, they have a great variety that are tailored to adults. Nothing wrong with 10 and younger but not quite the classes I'm looking for. I signed up for heels and had a lot of fun. I was a fish out of water and immediately changed into sneakers but that's because I've never done heels and jumped into intermediate/advance. Everyone seemed to know each other already so it was cool to see a community there. The space is great - a lot of floor space. Cubbies on the side. Bathroom. Lights. Can't really go wrong. Instructor and owner were really kind. Will definitely try other classes. Happy to see more diverse studios finally showing up in Camarillo.

Even if I feel low energy before showing up, just being here I find myself laughing, having fun and feeling so freely joyful. I really appreciate how attuned the instructors are at not only teaching the generic dance steps, but also really seeing what will benefit each student, and teaching accordingly. I'm someone who cares most about the feeling and essence of the dance - I love feeling inspired while dancing, and I really feel this here. I've had the most experience dancing with instructors Ryan, Danielle and Josh and am smiling and laughing with every lesson and class. But all of the instructors seem wonderful. They don't really allow parents to watch which is why I took off one star. I loved watching my daughter dancing. They don't have a lot of sitting inside but they have more sitting available outside. Clearing of the grounds with leaves, palm fronds outside etc... maybe a coat of paint inside the lobby and theatre?... also we've NEVER experienced a production that allowed ANY food Or especially Drinks inside the center during a performance?!! That was quite distracting as people kept coming and going during making it difficult to Fully enjoy the show! Also personal recordings of the show (that a lady kept doing With her FLASH on!!!) was REALLY super frustrating as 'they' were already 'professionally' recording it anyways?!! Otherwise the SLO Orchestra did a FABULOUS job accompanying all of VCBs beautiful and talented dancers!! Hopefully next year there will be less 'commotion' so we can enjoy this once in a year production without sooo many disruptions!!
