You don't buy a package and get stuck with things you "kinda" like... you get to pick everything yourself and bring in your own outside vendors (food, music, etc.) You choose your party hours, floor set-up plan and get to bring in your own alcohol (for their bartender to serve)! Even though the venue can fit 300 guests, you only pay for the guests you'll actually have. Sharon worked with us to customize every detail to our liking. She is very easy to work with and extremely helpful at keeping track of everything and following up to make sure we have everything for the day of the event. I really appreciate the flexibility at Oceanview Pavilion and highly recommend them for anyone looking for a nice, affordable party venue in Oxnard/Port Hueneme.

When we first reached out to the VFW to get information about reserving the date, we were greeted with great professionalism, condolences and a welcoming vibe. From the very beginning, Josh was very nice and helped us with every thing we needed. He answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable. The day of the event we had such a great experience. The hall was nice, the tables and chairs were neatly stacked for our use. It's very nice inside. We had a great bartender, Florene! She was friendly, funny and poured some great drinks. I generally like to stay loyal to my gym and all, but to be honest, you start to feel like a hamster on those wheels that dont go anywhere after running on the treadmill for a while ... I wanted some action ... and boy, did I get some :) .... I was the 1 out of 2 guys ... I didnt mind backing my thang up, but damn, these girls knew how to move it! ... I felt like Eddie Murphy in the nutty professor after he took that "miracle drink" when he was working out with all those chicks ... Anyways, the area is not so good (According to the Zumba instructors) Its located off the main streets next to Murian Ambulance company ... Apparently, a car got broken into once, and the belongings were taken ... Sucks right?.... But for the most part, the area where we hit up the Zumba seemed like an old school banquet hall ... The AC was busted, so we got even MORE of a sweat on! The class start's at 7:30pm ... But you need to be there at least an hour before just to get in ... They hand out numbers like your waiting at a homeless shelter! None the less, great class! Looking forward to hitting up another one! It is open daily from 9-10 and stays open later on the weekends. There is a calendar of events every month and it doesn't get boring. It's a great place for younger and older folks alike. There is something for just about everyday of the week. Whether it's Monday night Thursday night football w inexpensive food & drinks, or regular Wednesday with homemade lunches that are so delicious , Taco Tuesdays (on hold during football season), or the awesome Sunday breakfasts, like I said there is something for just about everyday and all very reasonably priced with friendly and warm environment. It can also be rented out for outdoor or indoor events. It is a little hard to find the first time as it sits back on a long driveway, but if you look up you can't miss the American flag. It's almost like a farm setting and sorta lit up like Christmas it's very beautiful with all the lights. We stopped to grab a coffee at the coffee shop there and it was honestly not that great, they were very sweet the girl working there I do remember that. But their coffee was not that great. The dinner we had was nice but it was outside and it was freezing. So we were all shivering and by the time our food came out everything was pretty cold. The entire hotel was not busy there wasn't that many people there. Kind of a shame since you think it would be since it is beautiful there. The rooms were interesting and across from each other, however I loved the little fire pit they had in the middle of the outside area going back and forth to the rooms. The kids had a blast though they had fun running back and forth and they do leave a lot of yummy snacks around which was really nice. The customer service was not bad not the best but not bad! Everyone was nice but things took extra long when it shouldn't when no one was really there. I hope next time we visit this hotel it will be busier.
