The service is impeccable! It's a very clean airport and they have snacks for you, including sodas and coffee. The restrooms were clean and wonderful and they seem to have an amazing community here! It is a terrible, awful airport, they care more about the Oxnard Flying school then the residents. The student pilots fly over our homes with illegal low flying, it is so scary and so loud, doesn't matter how many times you call their complaint line they don't care at all, you are better off going to beautiful Santa Barbra Airport or Camarillo, they both have nice restaurants and better staff. read more

It is what you would expect in Oxnard, awful! They have a flight school there that is priority over the residential neighborhoods they take full advantage of the neighborhood people. The student pilots fly illegally low and very loud over the residential neighborhoods and ignore the complaints of the people who live near by, the arrogance and dangerous flying, this airport is the worst you are better off in Santa Barbara or Camarillo. read more

This is a really quaint, very friendly little airport. United is the only airline and only has a few flights per day, but this airport has all the amenities of a regular airport, including rental cars. I had a three-day meeting with a client in Port Hueneme and Oxnard is a lot closer than LAX. And, for me, it was about 50 bucks cheaper to fly into Oxnard than LAX, even though the flight to LAW would have been the same one under either itinerary. The planes United operates from LAX to Oxnard are all Embraer EMB 120 Brasilias. If you do not like small planes or turbo props, then flying to Oxnard will not be for you. These 19-person planes are the biggest thing that Oxnard can land. And, for me, when I flew in, the wind was very strong and the EMB 120s are very susceptible to wind affects. For instance, when we left LAX, the wind hit the plane and threw it about 30 degrees on the X-axis. Even though we were still going "forward" I was looking behind us down the runway only a few feet below. Oxnard also had strong winds and the plane bounced on landing. The whole point of this is to warn you that though convenient and friendly, Oxnard can be a bumpy trip. I strongly recommend using Oxnard as a point of origin and return if you live nearby. It's a 13-minute flight to LAX, the people there (even the TSA staff) are amazingly friendly, from security to boarding I only needed seven minutes, and getting on a plane here rather than dealing with the stress of L.A. traffic will probably start your trip more pleasantly. read more

Absolutely the fastest way to get to LAX if you're leaving from Ventura County. Yes, I paid a lot more than I would've if I just bought gas and drove, but, I was up in the air and down within 20-30 minutes from Oxnard. The terminal is SUPER small and I don't even know if they even have commercial airlines flying out to LAX anymore. The only thing I was a little weary about was the plane that flew out of here to LAX reminded me of those wind up toy airplanes that make that annoying toy plane noise. Being somewhat afraid of heights, I'd rather be a in a huge 747 than something you can take down with a slingshot. Just my two cents. Overall, fast, hardly a wait (just waited for the plane to pull up and walk onto that stairway truck thing) and super convenient if you're in the area and don't want to drive to LAX or Santa Barbara. read more

Airport is OK, but do NOT rent at Budget. It is a franchise and has one of the cheapest owners ever, who maintains his cars poorly. Rent at one of the other places, do not even consider Budget. read more

It is time to have a no fly zone over the dunes / shores. We would like to enjoy sunny days / without constant noisy motors over our backyard Every time the weather is nice You small plane flyers need to practice your skills ;somewhere else please. Do 1/2 mile no fly zone around residential areas .or put some real mufflers on your hogs! Or change your flight patterns ...or go electric! . I love flying myself , but like everything else in this wonderful world ,ones enjoyment should not infringe on others . Technology is here to enhance our lives . we do not need to endure that much noise at once !! .we have lived in the dunes 15 years approx , the last few years airport related noise is getting too much . We would like to enjoy our backyards! It's obnoxious every 5 min. They fly over. Like it's a high school track. Around and around right over our backyards. I pay taxes on my property. It's a nice little airport but the small planes doing pattern work is too loud and too often! What happened to flying over 5th street and turning around over the ocean and not over our heads at the Shores every ten minutes? I have to shut my windows and still there is nowhere to find peace and quiet in my home and I don't have triple paned windows yet. Would they help? I don't know. So, when I called the airport about it I was told, "I shouldn't of bought a house by an airport and that I should be happy they only fly from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m." Well, I grew up here and it was never this busy or incredibly loud. I don't think it's fair to us homeowners. We are not the ones profiting from our enjoyment living at the beach being disrupted continually by really loud engines over our heads. Maybe one or two designated days a week of no pattern work would be a good compromise. To know what day of the week I could relax and be outside gardening in peace or inside watching a movie I could actually hear without turning the volume way up, and with my windows open letting the ocean breeze flow through the house, would sure go along way with me, especially in the midst of a pandemic! I wish the airport cared about the surrounding community and we could work together on this issue. It just feels like the everyone out for themselves, all about money, negative type thing to me. Was having a horrible vacation and Matt from Dollar rental got me a car when absolutley no other car rental place would. No body else would because i only had a debit card and was only 22 and not military or from Ventura what the heck right?
