This is my go to hotel when I'm working in the area. The staff has always taken care of any issues that arise. Yes they have a social hour Monday through Thursday each evening, (soup and salad), and one beverage on the house. The breakfast is very good and coffee is fresh and hot! Made our reservation on the phone. Asked for and was guaranteed a family suite in the main building, first floor and close to the pool. When we checked in, not only were we put in the annex building, but also on the third floor. Stayed here for a couple nights mid-week and it was enjoyable. Staff were friendly at check-in, and they give a free bar drink voucher for each night. My room was clean and comfortable - the bed was soft and I slept well. The room also was quiet and had everything I needed. In the morning they also have a free breakfast buffet that was tasty. My only complaint is the hotel lacks a fitness center, so that would be a nice addition. I'd stay here again. read more

Staying here now. We intended to stay one night while visiting family but then decided to extend our stay. We were given drink tickets for the first night but didn't realize the free drinks end at 7:30 but since the hotel bar was "open" until 10, we got there at 9:40 and asked for a drink to take to our room. They said the bar was closed since last call was 9:30. I said the little paper says it closes at 10, and she very rudely shrugged. Then we went to the reception area to get beer cans and maybe apply our drink coupons there, nope! And they can sell alcohol until 2:30 am - hmmm. So last call in bar is 9:30.... But it's open until 10? None of it made sense and we got nothing but attitude from all the employees. Not a manager in site the entire time we have been here. Found a pair of someone else's socks when we checked into our room and someone else's hair on the shower curtain. Pretty gross!!! We are dealing with some family issues, so didn't want to have to switch hotels and deal with all of that, but we prob won't be back here. Also, the pool looks nasty. read more

The hotel is dated. I'm seeing a trend in the Oxford suites, I've stayed at their location in pismo and it's dated too. The carpets feel dingy, the decor and furniture is dark and dated. It doesn't feel clean. The bathroom was so small!! there were no hooks on the door or anywhere to hang your towels, the toilet and tub were so close with the door at your knees, you can imagine it was hard to even change in bathroom. The tv is small, with limited channels. The only plus to the room, the bed was comfy. We had a connecting room and you can clearly hear the guest in the room talking. The breakfast was minimal. Hot items-Oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit. Which normally is ok, but it just didn't taste fresh. I was just happy to have coffee. It was in a good location off the main area of small town hermiston. We had 3 nights stay, but only stayed for 2. Cut the trip early due to emergency at home and the front desk said they would charge us for a 3rd night even if we didn't stay. We checked out at 10:30am before the check out time, and they said because we didn't tell them the day before we would still be charged. They also wouldn't check us out the system, and I called twice about it. Because we left a one full day early, I didn't want to be liable for any other issues since the room was not even checked out in there computer, but I gave them keys and released possession. read more

Just recently stayed here for one night while en route to visit family in another state. We had our dog with us, which can limit your options sometimes when finding accommodations. Oxford Suites is pet friendly and has a very reasonable pet fee of $15 per night. There are two small grassy areas for pets in the back of the parking lot with waste bins, poo bags and benches. For our young daughter, cribs are free (it was a pack n play style), which was great. She also liked playing in the small indoor pool, which was empty at 7am except for us. I don't think most people are ready to swim then, but a toddler who was up at 5am sure is! The front desk staff at check-in were upbeat and friendly, and the process was smooth. Other than that, we didn't really have any other interactions with the staff. The hotel is a bit dated in some places and in need of new carpet in the common areas/hallways. However, our room was spacious and clean. We didn't take advantage of the free drink coupons nor complimentary soup/salad bar offered (remember we were traveling with a tiny human and a dog, haha) but enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. These extra perks are nice and, overall, Oxford Suites is a good value for the $ for traveling parents / pet parents. read more

The welcome sign on the hotel says "thank you healthcare workers".... What a punch in the gut. My husband and are travel nurses that started staying at the Oxford suites July 19, we have been able to get fair rates thus far until Pendleton roundup. I understand that the hotel has to make money, but not offering nurses a reasonable rate, but instead it's triple the rate is atrocious, there is still plenty of available and we had booked through roundup but cancelled any and all future reaervations. My husband and I signed travel nurse contracts with the community hospital through January, and they lost our business. Thousands of dollars lost for a week of Pendleton roundup cash. It is also important to note that they do have signs that note the mask mandate for Oregon but over Labor Day weekend while we were trying to enjoy free warm breakfast I counted 9 guests hovering over the food line not masked up. I wish I could say that was a random holiday weekend occurrence but barely any guest wear masks and I have yet to see an employee request the mask mandate on a patron. Also, the trashes in the hallways are over flowing, in both buildings and outside the detached building. read more

This place was a godsend! What a great comfy king bed, they allowed our pet with a reasonable fee, they gave us comp drinks if we did dinner in their Bistro, and we got pickup and dropoff service in their van. Everyone was lovely to us, very accommodating, masked, clean processes in place. What I particularly like is they paid attention to what business guests need. Plugs bedside for charging phones, mini fridge and microwave, coffee table and desk, good fast hot water in shower, hair dryer, ironing. Guest Laundry, ice machine, etc. Good pillows and a duvet cover that you know is clean and washed, white and fresh. Very good buy, we were quite pleased. read more

The hotel is very basic and in need of a remodel. The laundry room consisted of 2 washers and 2 dryers. 1 washing machine was broken the whole 3 weeks I stayed there. It was in use a lot and was difficult to get my laundry done. The restaurant has the absolutely worst food I've had. I tried it a couple times and tried different things. The food is the cheapest lowest quality food. Any of the fast food restaurants nearby has food superior than this. I was extremely disappointed in how terribly bad the food is. They blamed covid but that is no excuse for this. Gas station food is way better. I cant think of anywhere that could serve worse food. If you're staying long term, look for a better option. read more

We loved staying here. The staff was super friendly. The property was clean and modern. The best part was the king size bed. It was extremely comfortable with nice bedding and pillows. The AC unit worked like a champ. We were the first room on the ground floor right by the lobby and pool. Even though it was by a high traffic area, inside our room was nice and quiet. My husband and I slept like babies. Only negative would be their "bistro" restaurant in the lobby. We spent almost $40 on a tiny grilled cheese sandwich, Mac salad out of a container and nachos with fake cheese sauce. It was nowhere bistro quality or good tasting. read more

I was at the Hermiston, OR Oxford Suites Aug. 21 - 23, 2022. I arrived one hour after check-in. I was told due to a lack of staff my room was not clean. I had to wait an additional half-hour to check in. The concierge did not apologize for me having to wait. I requested cleaning service every day of my stay. I was told there was not enough staff to clean every day. The kitchen staff said there were no trays so it was difficult taking breakfast back to my room. The housekeeping staff and kitchen staff were friendly and helpful. The front desk concierge was rude and not helpful. You need to hire more full-time housekeeping staff so cleaning rooms can occur every day. You need to increase salaries and offer benefits to retain staff. I will look for other accommodations when I visit Hermiston, OR again. read more

My husband and I stayed one night here after visiting family during the day. All the staff were very friendly. We had a large, clean room with two queen beds, a love seat, two benches, and a small table with two chairs. I always love the sink outside the bathroom. Oxford Suites is somewhat unique in that they have an in-house restaurant and bar. Each person can have a free drink in the evening, and there is a soup / salad bar for part of the night. We got lucky and the soup was tasty chili. A couple small bowls of that plus salad was our dinner, along with our glasses of wine. Room is clean and quiet but don't count on getting anything for breakfast at the "restaurant". One hour into serving there is nothing left. Not an exaggeration- literally NOTHING. "Oh we're making more right now", nice, 20 minutes later some instant eggs come out but there's no silverware, no glasses, and oh look the one cup of instant eggs is gone again. Just sad. read more

Great things: Staff. Manager the evening of Nov. 20th was very friendly, as was the desk staff. Daniel in the dining area was very nice, as well. Pool area very nice, clean and functional(!) gym area. Not so great things: The room I had was in the newer building, and it lacked ANY character. Limited art on the wall, no real decor or anything to make it seem like a home away from home. The shower. I felt like the shower was an afterthought. In fact the whole bathroom seemed to be. Oddly placed in the corner of the room, and everything was bleach white. Btw, bring your own sundries for the shower as the soap/shampoo smelled AWFUL! Overall, I'd stay here again, but I wouldn't mind finding something better, either. It should exist, but this is a very small town. read more

We stayed for an extended time during the Oregon Baseball championships. The front desk was extremely accommodating as we had a dog with us. We were given a ground level suite close to the nice grassy areas for pets. The room was spacious and well appointed. With many ball players there , security did their job to keep the players safe yet let them have a great time. I highly recommend them and if we are ever in Hermiston again, would not hesitate to make another reservation. Give them a try! read more

What a pet friendly gem! I feel like the management at this hotel truly wants to make your stay memorable. The evening social went until 10pm! I have never stayed at a hotel generous enough to have a social until 10! Comfort of beds can be individual specific, but I can't imagine anyone finding issue with these beds. The beds and the variety of pillows will let you float through REM and wake up ready to conquer your day! The staff made an impression as well. Overall it's a nice hotel and amenities are much appreciated for family traveling. I'd give it 5 stars, but our room had a faint odor (like a mix of cigarettes and mold...maybe carpet needs replaced). The rates are reasonable and included complimentary beer in the evening after check in as well as breakfast buffet. The in-room coffee was nothing to write home about, but the coffee in buffet area was better/stronger. On the way back to Salem from Utah, never been to Hermiston but always buy their watermelons in the summer( it's the best!) so we thought stop there for one night and check it out the next day. We got tickets for free drinks when we check in so we went, besides free beer or soft drink or wine they serve home-made tomato soup and salad to go with and it's very good , filled me up :o) Room was clean and big. Free breakfast and it's also good. It's a little far from high way but worth it. Will try it again next time if we go that direction. read more

I made reservations as I was traveling and would not arrive until late. I requested that I be placed on either the first or second floor. I was assured that I would be provided with my choice. As I arrived at midnight, I discovered that those room choices were no longer available in the main lodge but was told that I if did not mind being in the detached portion that I could have a room in that space. I felt pretty deflated and I was exhausted from my travels. I asked to be refunded and gracefully stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. I am very disappointed with the broken and misguided customer service. Hopefully management makes it right someday. read more

This hotel is awesome! We were in town for the Columbia Power Marathon and Oxford was the host hotel. From the night before - where hanging out at the bar with your two drink tickets was a bunch of fun. Talking with the bartender who knew everything about Hermiston and made us feel extremely welcome got the stay off to a positive start. After we ran the marathon the front desk and the cleaning crew were so accommodating about letting us take a shower even though we were getting really close to the late check out time. I'm not sure when/if I will be back to Hermiston, but if I come back I will absolutely stay at the Oxford Suites. read more

Help, I'm conflicted! I don't know what to write! OK fine, I'll just give it 3 stars. Here is my boggle: I love the staff here as they were super friendly people. I love the little bar with it's good micro brews and silly plastic cups. The bar patrons were friendly and earthy. Breakfast was great with biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, toast; it was a feast. The rooms were, well, ok. They were clean, but my allergies went kinda nuts here so my guess is that it was dust filled. Could have been mold though, I'm pretty allergic to that too. However, at the end of the day, I had enough meds in me that this place shouldn't have been a problem. Also, it could have been something else, so I don't want to dock them too much for this one little gripe. Finally, the area. I have to just resist 4 stars because of the area. I mean, well, it's ok. It's just kinda bare. Yep, that's the word for it. Hermiston, oh Hermiston. I am so afraid of dying. Before I dry the tears I'm crying/sneezing. Our room at this hotel was okay but the service was abysmal. After driving all day, we booked a room on Expedia. When we arrived a few hours later, the person at the front desk claimed to not have our reservation. When I told her I'd booked on Expedia, she treated me like I'd done something wrong and asked for the reservation number in a rude manner. Finally she found it but again, treated me like I was an inconvenience for her. As I was checking in, I asked if it would be possible to have a ground floor room because we had big suitcases. She was snapped at me and said, "I can only do what I can do!" and then put me on the second floor. Again, being on the second floor wasn't the issue. I respect that she can only do what's possible, but it was her attitude and rudeness that really put me off. The room itself was fairly comfortable though it smelled strongly of fried food. I would not stay here again based on the service alone. read more

Room had strong smell of stale cigarettes and black mold. Three dogs in neighboring yard below the room barked day and night!! Front desk and reservation customer service was great. Really like the indoor hallways locked entries and the convenient location to a variety of restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was always hot and tasty however we did get grounds in our coffees a couple of times. We didn't make use of the in house bistro and bar. It looked clean and friendly with a good variety high priced menu. Pool area was nice. Liked the open doors and fresh air in the indoor pool/hot tub room but we all agreed the water in the pool was a bit chilly. The family suite that was recommended was a perfect fit for our needs. Spacious and well furnished. Liked the western decor, big mirrors even though the bathroom was a bit small, tub/shower bottom was slippery and towels scarce for such a large suite. I had asked for top floor room on the end of a building and or away from elevators and entrances and exits and told the reservation gal it was to have quiet during the day for baby naps. I got the room asked for and it was indeed a perfect fit for our needs but instead of quiet we had a week of barking dogs. A hound, a sheperd and a little yipping ankle biter ran the fence day and night in a neighboring back yard just below the suite. They could be heard over the air conditioner, the tvs, the bathroom fan and another fan we were traveling with. The barking woke us up early every morning the entire week. We did report it to the front desk thinking it was inside the building until we saw them below thru the windows. It's a shame they probably can't do anything about it. I'm certain we are not the only one's who have been disturbed by this. Be sure to look at the pictures and one of the videos I took from the windows so you could hear and see. The room had a heavy stale odor of cigarettes and black mold which we found on the back sides of the drapes. Windows weren't clean. Big glob of something dripped and dried on the inside of one of them. The noisy elevator broke down trapping a couple forcing us and others to take the stairs. Room entry door wasn't square in the frame, was scratched to heck and carpet patched from dogs but a covered peep hole and double security locks were good. Would I stay there again? Maybe in the newer annex despite the walk to and from the main building. I haven't seen the rooms there but is away from the barking dogs with a sunrise or sunset view. The only reason I chose Oxford over Holiday was because of the western decor the family room lay out and the windows open. read more

I have stayed at this hotel dozens of times since it opened about 15 years ago. It is always clean and staff are very professional. For work, we have booked large groups and we always find the office and desk staff to be great to work with. The hospitality room with free hot breakfast bar and evening snacks is exceptional. Many times, when not up to going out to eat, I have just grazed the evening snacks and made myself a salad. Very convenient indeed. The evening Hospitality Host, Daniel, is the greatest. We're moving from Seattle to Nashville and made this our first stop. We have three dogs that have not travelled long distances in the car so we wanted it to be a relatively short day. We chose Oxford Suites because they are dog-friendly. It was a great place to stay and they provided us with doggy gift bags that included a rubber, collapsible water bowl, some pop bags, and a biscuit. We did reserve this through hotels.com and it didn't mention an extra fee. We did have to pay an additional $30 per dog when we checked in. Overall great experience and very clean. read more

Overall, staying at this hotel was a good experience and I *almost* want to give them 5 stars. They do a lot of things to try to make your stay a good one, but I think they need to try just a little bit harder to really make this place shine. The Good: *Easy to book a room online *The rooms are decently nice and include a small fridge & microwave. Our single king room also had a pull out sofa and a nice desk to work at. *They make an effort to provide healthy shampoos and soaps *The dining area is small and loud, but it's awesome that they provide breakfast & evening snacks with a free drink. The food available for purchase was good, if a bit pricey. *Pretty cool that they have an indoor, heated pool. We didn't get to use it, but it looked nice and clean through the windows *The decor throughout the hotel common areas is all western/horse/cattle themed. I really enjoyed the artwork and overall decorating theme *The free wifi worked, had adequate signal, and was fast enough The Average: *The staff are all nice. Yet they all (the ones we interacted with anyway) lack that sparkle and shine that would earn them 5 stars, in my book. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but it's that customer service quality that makes you feel like they really care about you. They are good, but not great. With the exception of the evening cook on Saturday. She was awesome and went the extra mile for us even when she didn't need to. 6 stars for her! *The bathtub in the room was an 'ok' size. Nothing special, but adequate. The Bad/Annoying/Disappointing: *The hotel is a bit pricey for what it is and the "discounts" online are basically a joke. You pretty much get the same rate no matter what, online. *There were ants marching in our room throughout our stay. It didn't bother me enough to complain, but I overheard the housekeeping staff call for the room to be "sprayed" after we checked out, and that this was an ongoing problem for them. *All of the soaps & shampoos are in pump bottles and, with the exception of the handsoap, none of the pumpers worked at all. The shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are all firmly attached to the wall in the shower and inaccessible except by pumping (which doesn't work). *The heavy curtains did not close all the way and the lightweight curtains are see-through. Even when I got the heavy ones to overlap and stay in place, the AC would blow them open again. So unwanted light and lack of privacy were an annoyance. *There was not adequate parking in the lots. There was plenty of street parking available....but the neighborhood is somewhat questionable. When we pulled into a street parking spot, there was a drunk and/or homeless man sleeping on the mail box right next to us... *The pool area closes at 10pm. I suppose this is later than some hotels and earlier than others. And I suppose it's reasonable for noise control, or whatever, yet it was still a disappointment for us. A nice, quiet soak in the jacuzzi after a long day would have been nice. *I thought the blanket on the bed was inadequate, and if you make use of the handy pull out sofa, there is no blanket to use whatsoever. *I mentioned the dining area as something awesome above. My only small complaint is that they close a little too early and they start putting the food away before the actual cut off time. *They allow for late check out, either 12pm or 1pm...but they won't give it to you until the morning of your check out day and they have a limited number of late checkouts that they'll allow. My experience at other hotels is that you can generally request a late check out the night before and they will allow it, no problem. This hotel sort of hemmed and hawed, like it was a big deal and a precious commodity. Even when I did call the morning of, they just couldn't let me check out at 1pm, it had to be 12pm. After I left the room, I had to stay in the small lobby outside my room for quite a while. Housekeeping didn't even get to my room until after 1:30pm and were still cleaning that wing well after 2pm. So I relly don't see what the big deal was. Maybe I'm missing something?? *I know I could have resolved some of these issues by calling the front desk. But, I don't know, I just wanted to stay in peace without calling about the ants. And the soaps. And the curtains. And the blankets. And the check out. Conclusion: It's a decent place to stay, if slightly over priced, and they make some good efforts to make your experience a good one. The annoyances and disappointments were relatively small, but cumulative, and ultimately caused me to dock 1 star. I think that with just a little bit more effort on the hotel's part, this could be a 5 star experience. read more

WARNING: SECURITY BREACH!! Oxford Suites is probably the best choice in a town with limited choices. The rooms are clean and big and the breakfast buffet sufficient. The problem is with the front desk staff. There were 2 clerks on duty when we arrived, but one was on break so we had to wait 15 minutes to check in while the remaining clerk finished making a reservation for a future guest on the phone. It was obvious that the guest making the reservation was old and rather confused because the clerk had to repeat everything 2-3 times. Here is what the front desk clerk repeated (2-3 times), the future guest's credit card number, expiration date, hotel reservation confirmation number, email address, last name, reservation dates, and the hotel clerk's name!!! We were standing there and he read everything back, right in front of us. With that information, we could have contacted this person and said "Hi, this is Bob at the Oxford Suites and there was a problem with your reservation, can I get your credit card number again?" Piece of cake. Clearly, the front desk clerk never stopped to think about what he was doing AND he was never trained not to disclose confidential information in front of others. If you stay here, do NOT make your reservation by phone. read more

Get there early for any complimentary food in evening, I went in and soup was gone. When I asked if they had more I got a big no. However was offered some salad that had been sitting out. I understand you need to stop sometime, however these rooms are higher priced because of the extra benefits. When they take away the benefits, it's just a high priced room.
