I wouldn't take my lawnmower for service at Oxendale Hyundai. The automotive service is terrible, and the customer service is even worse. The charge for work they literally do not perform. When called out on it, they gaslight you. Apparently they don't know that people know their cars and that Google and YouTube exist. The most recent in a series of horrific service stories was the fact they charged for an oil change, kept the car three days, and DIDN'T EVEN DO IT. When I asked about the change oil light and the fact that it's black sludge, Richard told me "he does 18 Hyundais a month and that's how they are." As if I don't know my car and what a fresh oil change looks like after owing the car 6 years. Also please note they do not answer the Hyundai service line (extension 3) and the mailbox is full so you can never reach anyone or leave a message. This is just the most recent of 3 horror stories I have about this place. I'll never go there again, even to have them fix the problem they created or finish the job they charged for they never actually did. Oh and Richard, remember when you told me it was supposed to be that black and slugey and that's just how Hyundais are? Yeah, one look by a tech from a real shop confirmed Oxendale Hyundai never changed the oil on 10/30/24. Not sure how they got my name and address, but they keep sending those spammy "checks". Here is the thing; they design the outside of the envelopes to look like it's "important" mail. In late February, the outside envelope had a code on it that made it look like it contained a tax document. Today, I received one that was labeled "Expired Notice-Action Required". This types of tactics are dishonest and shady. Auto stores are famously unscrupulous as it is, so I can imagine what dealing with one of their sales people in person must be like. After my 2 year old Elantra broke down leaving us stranded, we left the vehicle at this dealer since it was close by. They were closed at the time, and being July 3rd, had to be creative at getting ourselves back to Cali. Nearly 2 months later my car was ready. Being this repair was under warranty, I asked them to please make arrangements to cover the rental. Denied! "Call national office" -nearly 3700$ I payed out of pocket. Fast forward. I arrange to drive back to return the rental and pick up my car. Upon arriving I see me vehicle sitting there, unlocked, and so dirty that I couldn't see out the window. I literally had to go to a car wash before heading back home. Additionally, I requested a ride to drop off the rental. It too was denied. I had to Uber myself back. While 3 employees just sat there...and still sitting when I returned. Insulting more; the manager tried telling me "I payed for your rental" even after I showed him the withdrawals from my checking account. "Well I pad too" -like seriously! My brand new 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has a recurring message on its dashboard that it's overdue for a scheduled service. The MyHyundai app on my iPhone states that my vehicle needs a 5000 mile scheduled service. In the photos below my Owners Manual states that my vehicle needs an oil change every 5000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. I called "Levi" at the Oxendale Hyundai Service Department in Flagstaff to schedule a service and I was told that maybe it's 7,500 miles or 9,000 miles when it's supposed to be serviced. I shared all of this information with him but he refused to schedule my complimentary service. While passing through town my car began to have issues so I thought the best place to take it was to the only dealership in 150 miles. I had to leave my car there, as they were backed up until the following week. For the next week I could get no response from the service department at all. Halfway through the next week I finally was able to get through to Laurie, who was able to answer a couple of questions, but the answers were mostly, that they were waiting on permission to even start. I was eventually told that it was a warranty issue, so it would be a bit longer. Meanwhile, I had no vehicle. Ultimately I was told that my car wasn't covered, and I didn''t have a vehicle for three weeks. I was only able to get the manager, Richard, on the phone once, out of all of that time. Laurie was more responsive, but then half of the three weeks I was in the dark. I drove back into town to get things sorted, driving four hours. I was determined to either tow my vehicle out of there or make them pay me for my car. They low-balled me on an offer so I attempted to take my car out of there. Richard, the Service Manager, despite having jerked me around for three weeks, required me to still pay a diagnostic fee. He did offer to take $50 off of it, bringing it down to $125, however I'd originally been told $150 so he was inflating the price higher. I tried to take my issues/complaints up with the Sales Manager and he has been trying to get this resolved for six months but the owners won't do anything about it without google reviews. They never gave a written estimate before the work was done and added on over $100 worth of other charges. Buyer beware! To be able to get a loan I had to get Gap Insurance. I am a Rideshare Driver. The Gap Insurance they sold me did not cover Rideshare according to Safeguard Insurance. I just went to get an oil change and they increased the price by at least $10 since the last time I went ~3,000 miles ago. I am getting an oil change so early since I am about to go on a long road trip, but they told me I need $1,800 worth of maintenance done that is all urgent before I should go anywhere. They said my breaks were metal on metal so I get home and have my boyfriend look at it whom was a mechanic for 6+ years and he saw no issue nor urgency with my car. The only reason I didn't have him do my oil is because I wanted to give him a break and never again will I go here. Update: we just spent the whole morning going through the list of stuff they told me to fix and NONE of it was true. They said I had 3mm of break pad left on my rear breaks and I had well over 1/2 inch. They said my thermostat was broken and it didn't even have a spec on it. Dropped my vehicle off at 9:30 a.m. started calling around 11:30a.m. to check the status of my car only to have my call transferred to the service department so it would NOT be answered. I'm not much of one for writing reviews but Oxendale Hyundai in Flagstaff leaves me no options but too tell you what a horrible experience I have had. On approximately March 24th my car was towed to this dealership. I told them I was a snowbird so would come back out in April and pick up the car. I asked them if possible for a 10 day notice. I got that notice and purchased an airline ticket to go out. Two days before I was to arrive I called and talked to Lori. She told me it still needed a part that was being overnighted. It didn't come and I ate an airline ticket. Things seemed to be going nowhere and I spoke with Richard, the supposed service manager. I got nowhere and asked for the general manager and was given the name and number for Larry Burns. I called him 6 days in a row and never ever got a return call. Later I was told car was done again. Once again I got an airline ticket. I called two days before and was told it now needed a catalytic converter (????) and that it was once again being overnighted. I called the next morning and was told it didn't come in. They must have horrible overnight service in Flagstaff. To make an already long story shorter I picked up my car on June 3rd. It was filthy. On the bill I was charged $20 for gas but the car showed 20 miles to empty. Richard told me gas was expensive. I asked for the contact information of the President Michael Oxendale. Richard told me he didn't have but he would tell Larry I wanted to speak or email with him. So, two weeks later and no contact. Either Larry never passed the info on to Mr. Oxendale or Mr. Oxendale chose not to reach out to me. If that is the case why would anyone want to do business where the owner/president would not email or call me. I told Larry that if Mr. Oxendale would send me an email that said he had received my email I would have dropped the whole thing. Buyer beware. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. If you have the ability to do so, take your Hyundai to Cottonwood or PHX, this place is a joke but their ridiculous prices for "service" are a total scam. Scheduled an appt for throttle body service, which was recommended at the last 2 visits to the dealership in PHX. My Tucson was having slow/delayed acceleration and I was told this would address the issue. I did not have the ability to go to PHX on a weekday to get the service done, so I went to Oxendale. Showed up to drop my car off and the service manager seemed to have no idea what a throttle body service was. She brought in the "head mechanic" who looked to be 17 years old. Without inspecting my car, he claimed it needed a fuel injector service. oooookay. I should have left. My car was still under warranty at this time, so I let them do the service. THEY CHARGED ME NEARLY $400! That includes some shady and vague $39.95 charges on the receipt which no one would ever explain when I called to follow up. The dealerships in PHX would do the same service for $100+ less! Pep Boys will do the fuel injector AND throttle body services for less than what Oxendale charged. Unfortunately, I am still having the same acceleration issues and will have to go somewhere else to get the repair done. I can only assume the service manager and mechanic are family members of whomever owns this scam shack, because neither seemed to have experience or ethics. read more

I called the dealership today to verify if they had the car I was looking for and was told they did. I told them I'd be there soon to see it. Upon arrival, I entered the show floor where I observed three men discussing where to find a pharmacy. This went on for several minutes while I waited. I assumed one of them was a client finishing up his business. As it turns out, they were all salesmen; ignoring me. Finally one of them said, "Are you looking for someone?" I said "No" with a sort of incredulous tone. Instead of asking how they could help me they just stood there speechless." Finally, I said I was there to buy a car and told them what I wanted to see. I was told that they weren't sure if they had any, but of course I knew that they did. And what sales person doesn't not know the current inventory? I was well dressed and carrying a designer purse. I'm pretty sure I did not smell bad, look crazy or disheveled. But I'm a woman, and women in this state seem to get treated this way every where they go, unless they are young and dressed provocatively. My plan was to buy that car, for cash, that day....... I had called to make an appointment to test drive a Tundra truck that was advertised as being on the lot. When I arrived on the lot (on time) I was told that the truck was being gassed up and would be back in "about 10 to 15 minutes" . I ran an errand and returned 20 minutes later and no truck. I'm not going to go into details about the deal that finally closed. What you need to know is this dealership is terrible. It took multiple weeks to complete a deal that should've been done in a week at most. They constantly dropped the ball on communication, forgot details of the deal that was taking place, and in the end didn't follow through on certain details of the deal. No, the things that didn't happen aren't the end of the world, but their lack of discipline in following through shows their commitment, or lack there of to customer satisfaction. In the end, I'm not sure where to assign blame. There's the salesman and GM that resigned after an agreement was made and then there's upper management that clearly doesn't have their finger on the pulse of their staff. To be clear, this is not a jab at The Hyundai brand. I do want anyone who intends to purchase a vehicle at Oxendale Hyundai to proceed with caution. Typically this is the case with any dealership. It has been over a month and I can t get a call back or email back from Lance Peterson the General Manager. The sales manager Ron advised me all the fluids and filters were changed, but lied. This car was supposedly reconditioned they charged me over $900 for the fee and when I raised up the backseat after getting it all the way back to Chandler it was a complete pig stye. Food candy crayons absolute mess. Then, the manager promised me an additional key but when I got there there was no key. Then they gave me some smoke and mirror excuse and referred me to a company in the valley who would get me the key. I purchased a car on April 16 and as of today there is no key no communication from the person referred me to the dealership has done nothing about it. I'm certain there was no intent in Car Keys Express was part of the scam too. So I bought my own extra key in Chandler after the shady key company they referred me to said it was a six months back order. I reached out to car keys Express again in August to give them a chance, they just blew me off and still have not responded. The Hyundai dealership in Chandler got the key within 30 minutes. I'm not one to complain, but everyone should know about the shady practices of that dealership in Flagstaff. Consumers beware!! read more

I bought a 2018 Santa Fe in 2019. Within 2 months and less than 2,000 miles after buying it I had to replace all 4 tires, all 4 brakes, 2 air filters and get it aligned. When I confronted the dealership about the condition of the vehicle they sold me, they told me everything passed inspection when they sold it to me, yes the tires and brakes were wore but "in the green". I paid a lot for that car and one would expect the vehicle to be in decent condition. The odometer reading was 600 miles off. I called the dealership the day I bought the car and pointed it out, I was told "no big deal". Well it is because I bought the extended warranty and that is 600 miles off of the warranty. Also, they said I put those 600 miles on the tires and that is why they needed to be replaced. Something shady is going on at that place. I had a tired get damaged and it was covered under the warranty. Took almost 2 weeks to get my tires replaced. Was told my break were at 4 mil in the front and 3 mil in the back. They wanted to replace my break pads. I said no. After another 2 months of driving I started on replacing my break pads and rotors. I have 6 mil of breaks on my front and same on back. If they want to replace your breaks make sure you check first. Or they will unnecessary expenses. read more

Took mybcar in for service there. New shocks, brakes, and boots tightened to fix noise I was hearing everytime I made a left hand turn. Well, I live an giur and a half away, driving home felt good. I was a happy camper. Stop at a restaurant in Strawberry AZ and my front end squeeks as I pull into park. Thus squeaking has gotten worst. I have contacted them with NO reply. O made a comment on their own website with NO reply. I cannot afford ro be driving out there and missing work. I was in Flagstaff to visit my daughter and realized that my Hyundai Santa Fe had used a lot of oil on the trip from Farmington NM. Even though the Oxendale Hyundai Service did not have the greatest reviews, they were the only place that could check out my car that day. All the other places in town were backlogged. Of course, they found a problem - the main rear seal was leaking - and of course it was going to cost a lot to fix it. The estimate was over $1100 but I had no other choice. The repairs were completed by the next day at noon and I left town to go back to Farmington. A few days later my transmission went out and I had to have my car towed to the Hyundai dealer in town. They charged me $148 to tighten the linkage bolts that were not done properly at Oxendale. I contacted Allison at Oxendale, and she promised to reimburse me for that amount. However, 3 weeks later, I have still not received the check and Oxendale will not take my calls. This is very poor customer service in my opinion and thus the 1 star review. read more

Broke down on the side of the road by fort tuthill in our Volkswagen van heading back up from Sedona. Our cars back tire axel snapped and restricted us from being able to drive. Brenton the manager at Hyundai was behind us and was so beyond helpful and offered to tow us to his shop. Thank god!! The service here is amazing we had someone come out to check out the van and gave us the exact problem, how long it'll take to fix it and how much it was going to cost. Took them less time than they quoted and even a little cheaper!! I would 100% recommend Hyundai for any of your car needs! read more
