Crunchy, salty, and totally delicious. No need to substitute fries :) The draft beer IPA is fresh and comes in a 22 oz size. On our second visit we both had an excellent cup of chowder (not always easy to find locally) and butterfly shrimp. Surprisingly good! And reasonably priced. The bar has multiple video screens with local sports...and the music piped in is so much fun. We told Ricky to expect to see us regularly. Our orders were taken expeditiously, food was served quickly, and when we mentioned that we were also seeing a movie at the theater located in the same facility, the birthday cakes were put in the refrigerator until after the show was over - they even kept our table open for us to return to! Parking is readily available and there are other businesses located at the truck stop like a tattoo artist, massage facility, laundromat & showers, convenience store and others that a person passing through might need on their journey. Some of the "standard pub" items are lackluster (like the Caesar salad); stick to their seafood and tacos, which are much better. They had 2 screens with sports. I do subtract a star for the seats. Seats are expensive and a business needs a lot. They standardized on some industrial metal ones with no backs, stools, high and low. Even the window seats don't really have much to lean back against. Mayfly is a neighborhood spot, a block from Kenton's main street with a great neighborhood community, a large variety of drinks, to-go, and food popups. It's on the MAX light rail too.
