Their menu is New Orleans food which a special corner of the south. I went for happy hour which features catfish sliders. They preyed on my mind till I got some. They were Seasoned and fried perfectly. My cup of chicken and sausage gumbo was spicy and wonderful. My son approved the red beans and the Mac and cheese was sharply cheesy. Cool little spot, we sat outside in one of the open containers. I wanted the fried green tomatoes but they were out. Our server wasn't the friendliest person, but we killed her with kindness, she warmed up a bit towards the end. My friend said the sliders were just okay, she was disappointed that it was fresh ground beef with processed cheese. The red beans & rice were pretty good, so was the sweet cornbread. This place has a multitude of settings that culminate in a unique, fun and memorable place... and it fits so perfectly in North Portland. The inside space is reminiscent of a standard dive bar. It reminds me of the old days when people could still smoke inside in Portland! I opted to sit in one of the outdoor alcoves and it was very cozy. The picnic table bench had been wired so that the seat was heated. The server was really kind and offered to turn on the fire feature that was located on top of the table. Despite it being very cold outside, it was plenty cozy. The server made a drink recommendation, and I indulged. Overall, I was really impressed by the elaborate thoughtfulness of the outdoor space and pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service that accompanied my visit. read more

First they hide the entrance around back, instead of having it on the main street of Lombard, if you don't know you end up walking around three quarters of the building twice. Secondly, during my visit there was only one server to cover the large main room as well as the popular outdoor patio, making getting any kind of real service unlikely. This is not the fault of the server, but management for not having an additional server. Every time I wanted to talk with the server about the menu, or ask any type of questions, the server always seemed too busy to help me, and was generally abrupt and disinterested in offering assistance. If you want my business please hire additional and more courteous staff. Additionally the place is very dark inside, making reading the menus, with very tiny type fonts, very difficult. Please use a larger type font, maybe print on both sides of the menu to allow for larger type fonts. read more

The service is always great, tons of covered outdoor seating options with individual heaters even for the cold days and nights. Their food is really good and it has a southern flare. And the management sucks because they don't think there's anything wrong with their bathrooms that are full of mold, mildew, and dried pee all over their urinals. Plus they smell. And then the manager/bartender gets mad at me for asking them about it. And all of a sudden it's my fault because he says I'm too loud and I'm affecting his customers. Their bathrooms are the worst bathrooms of any place in the entire town of St John's, and it's my fault. I don't think so. It's important for me to tell people that I am an old restaurant/bartender perfectionist. There's absolutely no excuse for the way their bathrooms are. They should be ashamed. read more

I've wanted to try for a while but living in sw suburbs it's a bit of a trek. But I got my opportunity and didn't regret it. I started with the sliders, corn dogs and hush puppies. Catfish sliders were good. Just spicy enough to avoid that muddy flavor. Good size hunks of fish too. The pulled pork ones were good but I agree with fellow helpers that it needs a sauce. The corn dogs were really fun. Though they would be too salty but they were just right. The hush puppies were huge. They were on happy hour so what the heck. I found out mid meal that someone else was footing the bill so I wanted the jambalaya. The owner also owns roscoes so I asked the waiter if it was the same as Roscoes, he claimed it was better. It was not better. I can't put my finger on why. It was good but not better than Roscoes. I love the space. The outdoor area made of shipping containers and the little warmer things on the tables. So much fun. Service was a little inconsistent but I'll bet it's tricky to manage that outdoor space. Solid food, lots of good drinks and a fun space. I recommend. read more

i can't get enough of tiny bubble room. i discovered TBR when a friend suggested it for lunch! when we arrived at noon we were the only people inside. the host/bartender was so kind & welcoming. we ordered some drinks, i got the TBR mule which is now my personal favorite. it's so refreshing & delish. i've tried a number of food items but my favorite, hands down, is the buffalo cauliflower. i call it "my favorite cauliflower" now. it's delicious with the buffalo sauce & blue cheese. the cauliflower is cooked to perfection every time. i love the mini corn dogs as well! they were super flavorful, had a great snap when you bit into it and awfully cheesy! the pulled pork sliders were outstanding as well! the mac & cheese is on my list to try when it gets a bit cooler. i love the atmosphere inside & outside. in the wintertime the benches outside have heated seats & they put tabletop fire pits out. it's a lovely little experience. pricing is super good, imo, for the quality, quantity and service! if you haven't been to tbr, i highly HIGHLY recommend. you won't regret it! read more

While the food wasn't terrible, it was still the worst Nashville hot chicken sandwich I've had. The patty was pretty puny, and the sauce was not Nashville hot at all, more like a spiced bbq & no heat. However the space is cool, lots of seating both indoors and outside these cool converted shipping containers. Always good service here with reasonable prices for the food. Get the cauliflower--it's outstanding. The cornbread is always great. I don't love the gumbo, jambalaya or red beans and rice. It's just not my food. The veggies are always good. It can be loud inside, so we enjoy the heated outdoor area. I'll always mourn the now closed Swift and Union. A couple of times I passed by this bar/restaurant and finally when I viewed the web site, the pictures in side and out side looked very interesting. The menu looks amazing, I had to try this place out! Went in on a Saturday and sat out on the patio, very nice area and clean, the waitress said it was open seating and the menu is on the QR code on the table. I had already decided what I wanted, ordered the Czech Pils and it tastes so good! For an appetizer I ordered the Fried Green Tomato sliders but request no bun which the waitress said "not a problem". The basil pesto aioli was so good. I am not one for raw onions but these pickled red onions were great. Fried green tomatoes were actually my first time ever eating and thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Next ordered the Pimento burger with no bun, this is were things changed, the hamburger patty was so over cooked and thin that some of the beef was crunchy. The pimento cheese is made in house along with the red pepper habanero jelly and both were delish! I substituted and had house made Cole slaw which was so good! I did order gumbo and jambalaya with chicken and sausage to take to my elderly mother as a to go. When I got the food home to her she opened each container and each order was amazing! I will defiantly go back and order something else on the menu and I am sure that I will enjoy the food and beer and this great bar/restaurant! This is the perfect spot for summer happy hour! There is plenty of outdoor seating, and if you can secure one of their storage container style spaces, there is the option to turn on an open flame for additional warmth. The portion sizes on the happy hour menu are extremely generous. Drinks and four dishes totaled to under $60 total for two people, and it was more than enough food. Our personal favorite was the Catfish slider. The fish was perfectly breaded and fried, and there were some pickled vegetables that balanced the slider out. The Hush puppies were decent, but I actually enjoyed dipping them in the Gumbo more than the provided "sweet and sour" style dipping sauce. The Gumbo itself was pretty salty, but the cornbread provided alongside itself was buttery and crumbly. The drinks were EXTREMELY strong, so they are definitely not for the faint of heart. I wish that they were a little more balanced, but overall, the price could not be beat! read more

The food is some of the best, You will find anywhere in Portland .I had the pork and green sandwich and it was well made with a delicious side of pork vinaigrette period the bread was toasted and very fresh. The pork juicy, and perfectly seasoned, the real surprise it had collard greens. And I could have sworn, I was down south in Texas. My friend enjoyed a catfish sandwich. She gave me a taste of it and again. Good down south cooking came to mind. Our cervost, Jack and he could not have been more attentive and cheerful period really a fun and professional person. Friendly service and a great vibe all over the place. Love that the outdoor seating pods have heated benches. Food is great as well but I don't know what is wrong with their idea of a beignet. They were soaked in oil, burned on the outside and greasy mush on the inside, no powered sugar in sight, served in a bowl of grease. Absolutely love the outdoor seating and innovative use of shipping containers. The patio is one of the best in Portland. The food was good Bar food. The chicken tenders were clearly hand battered and tasty. I thought that the jalapeño ranch dipping sauce had way too much dill and after one dip, I gave up on it The one complaint we had was that the service was pretty slow. Even though the sign said to wait to be seated, after standing there for five minutes someone finally saw us and told us to sit anywhere we want it. then it took another 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order and another 10 or 15 minutes for that drink to be delivered. while we were waiting for our food and drinks, there was at least two separate parties of three or four people which sat down and then left after 10 minutes of waiting with out having an order taken. The servers were very friendly but not sure why the wait times were so long. read more

Cool spot to hang out! They have a big outdoor space, a couple tables with a gas fire in the middle, and then individual cubbies with fun graffiti. Inside was busy and noisy, so if looking for a quiet atmosphere, I don't think this is your jam. The waitress that greeted us was super on it, and had us drinks in no time. Quick to fill the food order. We had Cajun tots and cornbread with whipped butter. Cajun tots were soft on the inside that it easily separated with the fork, and the ranch sauce was nummy! The cornbread was moist, the only thing is I would have liked was more butter with the cornbread. The drink Regret Me Not tasted like a light lemonade, and I would get that again.
