Oh Lord I don't even know where to belong. I went to see Dr. Owens Feb. 15,2012. As I was going into surhy they prepped me and started iv meds. As they wheeled me out and into surgery in the hall my husband came to kiss me and tell me everything is going to be fine. My weight going in was 178 lbs. I was loopy and out of it n Dr. Owens came up to me and said why don't you have the gastric instead? I went in for lap band. I said I can't my ins. Hasn't approved it. I was not counseled on gastric bypass, I knew nothing about it and he had the paper work already in his hand and said don't worry I'll take care of that and had me signed. I was so gone when I signed. About a month later on my follow I was in severe pain and he told me it was normal. I ended up in the er 3 times before finally they had it with Dr. Owens and took matters into their hands and did tests to find the problem. Nothing showed so they had a doctor do and endoscopy on me and found ulcers. Dr. Owens was notified and he took my gall bladder out and still over a yr on meds for ulcers and almost dying and atleast 7 trips into er he said he could not treat me because I was not in his area, because I lived in Lynwood Ca. , but he had no problem treating me and taking my ins. He referred me to Dr. Durushnia in the next office that he works with. I was put on so many meds I had a grand mall seizure and almost died. Dr. Owens said if I knew u had PTSD I wouldn't have given u surgery. He gives pts his cell for problems or complication after surgery and I called and said please listen something is wrong. His answer was relax and fix a cocktail. Seriously! Wow. It is now 2018 and my quality of life is done. I have been hospitalized numerous times for bleeding ulcers. I have had long term effects from the seizure in which never in my life I have ever had seizure. I'm weak, and anemic and about to go in for a blood transfusion. Please do your research. One last thing his Bedside manner is horrific. After surgery the next day he came in and asked me if I had surgery on my vagina. He didn't say vagina he pointed and said down there. This gastric bypass is literally killing me. I tell my husband all the time my soul feels as if its lifting out of my body. This happens all day everyday and not relates to eating. I can't move, I sweat I almost pass out and can't breath. It takes 15 minutes to recooperate. I told my husband this surgery is going ro kill me read more
