On May 30, 2023 I had a double hernia repair where the doctor placed mesh on both sides. The surgery was just for a fatty hernia on the right side. The doctor took advantage of my older 1970's hernia to call them a repair and place mesh. The doctor didn't explain the procedure to me prior to the surgery of that he was focusing on a repair of something that I didn't complain about or was even an issue. I thought I was just describing my prior health history and he took that as a way to fix something that wasn't an issue and profit by the work. Around August 2024 I started having the most excruciating and severe pain in my lower pelvic area and I knew it had to be the mesh. The doctors office was very slow to respond and set up an appointment. I had taken 3 emergency room visits in total. The ER would only run a CAT scan which did not show any results the doctor scheduled an MRI and he claimed it did not show a mesh issue. I had to wait 6 months for an appointment with a UCLA specialist who used the same MRI to verify an issue with the right side and the left. I had to wait for a surgery date until February 2025 for the right and July 2025 for the left side. In both cases the mesh had migrated down to my lower pelvic area. They had to dig out the right side in sections. The specialist said both sides were the worst he ever seen and both surgeries took longer than most of this situation. The mesh had adhered to my organs and other internal components in that area. Whether it was failure of the mesh or poor installation of the mesh is hard to say. But it is ironic that they both failed. The pain from this type of situation is indescribably painful and unbearable. I have no idea how I survived. It cost me my job as I could focus or concentrate. The doctor ignored my begging and pleading to remove the mesh. He wouldn't even acknowledge the mesh as the issue and he looked at the same MRI that the specialist looked at. This doctor lacks any compassion or concern for his patients well being and health. I would run and not look back. If you were to have an issue, and I suggest you look into mesh failure, as it can fail, don't expect and support from Dr. K he seems to think he is beyond a mistake or that something that was beyond his control, like product failure, could even happen on one of his surgeries. When I had my last appointment with you, Dr. Khosravi, I had mentioned the name of the surgeon, and you said you knew who he was, I would suggest you reach out to his office and ask them to send you a copy of the two surgery report and the photos of the mesh while they removed it. If not I'd be happy to send you a copy as I have them on file as I now have two law suites pending for product failure. The only reason you get even one star is that fact that they don't allow you to do negative stars. read more

10/10 recommended surgeon!! I had cholecystectomy 2-3 weeks ago because my gallbladder was infected. The surgery went well and fast. Before the surgery the pains I had was the worst feeling ever.Thankfully it was solved by having surgery and Dr. Khosravi did an amazing job with the surgery. I have my bilateral inguinal hernia repair with Dr. Abtin Khosravi two weeks ago fortunately the procedure went very well & Dr. Khosravi was extremely nice, polite, & helpful. I was walking & doing errands same day. I felt little bit of pain but the pain management medication Dr. Khosravi prescribed for me help elevate the pain but other than that I am doing great. Highly recommend choosing a different doctor. I came in for a check-up before a scheduled surgery. There was an area above the cyst that was infected so Dr Khosravi decided to Lance the infected area immediately. He didn't even ask or describe what would be required (two weeks of healing with no/little sitting or use of the buttocks area, wound care twice a day). Edited 8/5/2019 - this healing actually took close to a month) The first shot of lidocaine was painful but at least went into my system. The second shot of lidocaine squirted all over my back and pants. . But Dr. Khosravi didn't grab another shot, instead he just began lancing the infected area. The initial lancing was fine but then after cleaning the area out he decided the incision needed to be longer. He cut towards my spine and unlike the initial incision I could feel intense pain as he sliced my skin open. I clinched my entire body and verbally yelled ouch. Dr. Khosravi says "sorry about that" then continues to cut me several more times without anything additional to numb the area (but hey, at least he said "sorry about that" after each successive cut with me clearly demonstrating I'm in pain both physically and verbally) . One of the worst experiences of my life. But the story isn't finished. As I was leaving I was given very little information(Dr. Khosravi was going on vacation and clearly had his mind on more important things). Basically I need to stop at the store and grab gauze and tape. The Dr asked if I had anyone to do wound care or if I needed a wound care specialist to come help with the twice a day gauze replacement. After experiencing first hand having an un-experienced person deal with the still very fresh deep hole in my body I can tell you this should not even be a question. I called in to try and get a wound specialist sent out and got routed to the after hours on call Dr. "Eric". I left a voicemail with my info and reason for call. He called me back within 10 minutes but acted like he had not even listened to my voicemail. I then explained my situation to him and that I would need a wound care specialist as I was told could be setup. His response "not going to happen". Wtf? What kind of response is this to a patient. He explained that the office was closed and since it was a holiday weekend the earliest I could talk to someone would be Tuesday (it's Friday). He then tells me to go to an emergency care room if I need help with the wound. Again, I highly recommend finding a different doctor especially if you are having anything serious done. Everything about this visit was sloppy and the lack of information provided by Dr Khosravi after he cut a deep hole in my body is embarrassing and unprofessional. On top of that, the lack of any sort of compassion let alone communication skills by the on call Dr. (Erik) are more than enough reason to find a different Doctors office all together. Edited 8/5/2019 This office is terrible. 5 different occasions now they have said they would get back to me the same or next day and never a call. It's been two weeks since my surgery and no one has reached out. I called them 6 days ago, 3days before the weekend about concerns with my 4 inch incision that has been having issues and causing lots of pain after nearly two weeks very minor pain after the surgery. Told once again they would get back to me and no one ever reached out. I should have went with my gut from the previous experience and found a different surgeon. I have been experiencing major pain now for 4 days after running out of my prescription Dr. Khosravi is unwilling to refill my prescription without seeing me again so I am left here in agonizing pain. I live nearly 30 minutes away and the surgery was on my tailbone so I cannot drive myself to the office and am completely reliant on a friend driving me. So I basically have to just endure the pain for the next few days until I can get to his office. F that, I'm going to an emergency room and will never step foot in Dr Khosravi's office ever again. read more

Dr. Khosravi thoroughly explained the procedure, answered all my questions, and really put me at ease about having this done and reinforced everything I've read about the benefits of robotic surgery.
