That wasn't counting the adults. It was bad. Scott came out and assessed the area in the beginning and placed traps and bait out. When that didn't work, Scott came out again. Him and I discussed additional baiting that was necessary and was also cognizant of my furbaby when it came to safety. I certainly didn't need a 12-month commitment, like most of the pest control companies require in the area. In fact, after the second time coming out, never again did I see the 6 juvenile and adult rats. Scott is passionate about Boise's problem with the rat infestation that has taken over in the area, and the one thing that he wants to do, is handle the issue professionally and quickly. Each yard in the area, is unique. With baiting practices and rats that may take a more aggressive approach, than others. My yard was the one that was "unique," and within 30-days or so, my problem was eliminated. One of the other things I appreciated about Scott was that he was educated on the types of bait/traps in addition to the problem with rats. I learned quickly, that Rats are intelligent and it takes a professional who understands rat behavior in order to control/get rid of them. The value of the service was priceless! We had maintenance pest control at our home in CA, and we knew that we wanted it for our home in Star. I solicited a few estimates from local companies. Prices for the service were about the same, though one company recommended an initial treatment, a follow-up treatment 30 days later, and every two months from then on, for a total of 7 treatment in the first year, for a total annual cost of $880. They claimed that, since we lived close to the Boise River, we would really need extra protection from bugs and critters. In contrast, Phil from Custom Care recommended quarterly service, stating the they could always go to every other month if needed. I liked this approach better. I didn't feel like they were going for my pocketbook. Total annual cost the first year: $520. Aaron, the technician, contacted me right away and set up and appointment for the following week. He showed up as scheduled, explained his process, and went right to work. This included interior and exterior treatment, and he even set some mousetraps in the garage, saying that with the construction going on around us, this would be extra protection. I appreciated that.
