My husband and I stopped by on our way home from an appointment. We shared the 3 meat plate and still came home with leftovers. The staff was so friendly and helpful! The food was amazing! The jalapeño sausage is so good! I don't tolerate heat very well and this was just enough heat for me. The pulled pork had a great spice on it and the brisket was by tender. The Mac and cheese was cooked perfect, wasn't dry, just the right amount of gooey cheese sauce. We'll for sure be going back. read more

Maybe I came at the wrong time of day (Wed @ 7:30pm) before closing but I did not enjoy my food. The brisket sandwich was sooooo dry and I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and got a pulled chicken instead. Also they forgot my coleslaw.. So not a great experience really, which I was looking forward to because of the good reviews. I did enjoy the house bbq sauce tho! read more

What a cool spot with multiple offerings in a random strip mall in Holliday. Service was great, the lady was able to answer all our questions and loved the layout of the tables. Got the brisket nachos, and it was delicious. The cheese was rich, the brisket was moist and seasoned well, and I loved the beans they put on it. The sweet and spicy with the jalapenos really hit the spot. I wish there were a little more toppings as the bottom chips were pretty bare, but I'll definitely be back to try their other meats. read more

Came from out of town. Place is amazing, I got the bacon breakfast burrito. Food was hot and fast like my wife. Has a house bbq sauce which had a little kick. Overall atmosphere was great with 2 other food spots in the plaza. If you can't decide what to eat tonight, eat at Over the Cole's BBQ. read more

The wife and I were looking for a cater for a family get together. Found Over the Cole's in Holladay. We ordered the brisket, pork belly burnt ends which came with coal slaw and a bisket "to go". Decided to try it while we were there and ended up eating it all. They make their own sauce which is very good, both spice and sweet. Very good, very friendly, did a fantastic job of having our food ready the next day. read more

If you eat a lot of bbq you'll probably just think this place is ok. If you don't, or you've only eaten bbq in Utah, you'll probably really like it. This is another Utah bbq restaurant that can survive here, but probably wouldn't in a different state with more choices and competition. Like most bbq restaurants here, they chop their brisket, which usually helps hide a poorly smoked brisket. Their brisket was the worst of the 3. Pork was a little dry, and ribs weren't bad. Sides were pretty good. For bbq sauce they service little packets of sweet baby rays. You get a dinner roll instead of corn bread or sliced bread. read more

This BBQ place is really good!!! Their brisket is the best I've tried so far here in Utah. I really enjoyed it; I also tried their pulled pork, which was a little bit dry. Their quesadillas are good portions. I just didn't like their birria tacos; I couldn't find the seasoning of the birria. This place is located in a food court. read more

Ive been ordering over the coles 3 to 4 times a month for some time now. In the last couple months they have gone from 5 stars to zero. Not sure what happened. Decided to give them another shot tonight and boy did they miss the mark again. Time to find a new spot for bbq. 33 bucks for 3 bites of brisket, 2 wings and one and a half ribs. Not to mention the one pack of crap store bought bbq sauce and instead of the cornbread I ordered, a stale hockey puck store bought roll. I wont be ordering again. read more

I was having a Hanukkah party and procrastinated planning the menu until the morning of the event. I know, not my best moment. Anyway, someone recommended Over the Coles BBQ as a potential option to get five pounds of brisket that evening. I reached out to them and they responded immediately. Within minutes, I had the order placed and paid for. It was ready on time, just as requested later that day. The brisket was fabulous! It had been trimmed very well and had only traces of fat throughout-just enough for the flavor, but not to be chewy. They also provided a couple BBQ sauces-house and sweet. Everyone at the party tried them both and some preferred one over the other, but everyone said they liked them both. (My favorite was the house, if we're keeping track). Huge shout out to Cole for saving my procrastinating butt and providing a delicious dinner to my guests. read more

If you are looking for yummy BBQ and/or the most helpful catering experience ever, look no further! I ordered chicken, ribs, pulled pork, salad, Mac and cheese and baked beans for a 12 person event and everything was absolutely wonderful! I had no idea how much to order and Destiny was super responsive and helpful to order just the right amount of food for my group size. They delivered the food right on time and everything was hot and fresh. Their BBQ sauces were excellent. The whole group was impressed by the food and said they were looking forward to going back and visiting the restaurant. My son works here so although you might say I am biased... I will say this is the best barbecue I've ever had! Often times when he works I make him bring plates of food home to our family and we never get sick of it. The burnt ends on Thursday Are so good. The ribs are amazing! And all of the sides are delicious. If I could give this six stars I would! Oh and the employee named Dawson is pretty great too. read more

First of all, the food hall Over the coles is in is awesome! I love the food hall concept where you can get a variety of different fares all in one place. This food hall is never overly crowded, has plenty of parking and has some delicious restaurants to choose from. Over the coles catered a family party we had and everyone absolutely loved the food! Their meat is tender and flavorful and I love the nacho cheese on a baked potato it nachos. I usually get a meat plate but this time around I opted for a lighter entree so I tried the black and bleu salad with brisket. I love anything with brisket and this salad hit the spot. The salad came with cornbread in the side that I quite enjoyed as well. The lady working gave us extra corn bread, she was a sweetheart. Perhaps first week jitters but really disappointed in this $20 plate. The brisket sandwich was more like a jerky sandwich. None of the pieces was tender or juicy. It was all dry bark without much flavor at all. Definitely make use of their BBQ sauce, which was the only highlight of the meal. The potato salad was bland and a bit undercooked for my taste. I regrettably did not get a photo, but I just want you to imagine a perfect plate of barbecue. Absolutely gorgeous. Looks exactly how bbq should. Service was fast and polite, food came out steaming. We got ribs and fries. The fries were very divisive. They're heavy on the potato flavor, not super crisp. Half my friends loved them and said "best fries ever" other half said "worst fries ever." It's very love it or hate it. The BBQ however has an all around hit. The ribs were divine and gorgeous. Just perfectly seasoned, fall off the bone meat. Portions were huge, super easy to share and also have leftovers. It was a great meal. One star off because overall, it really lacked salt. The one thing we could agree on with the fries is there was not a dot of salt on them. Ribs would have sung with a bit of salt. But still quite good, just maybe think about the fries. read more

BBQ spot located in Block Party food hall. The food hall has lots of parking available and plenty of seating areas that are shared across all the food stalls. We tried the ribs, pulled chicken, and pulled pork and were very impressed by all of them! The sauces provided weren't my favorite flavors, but my partner enjoyed them! Our order was slightly wrong so I recommend checking you received everything before you head out if you placed a to-go order. read more

I'm pretty critical when it comes to BBQ, but the meats here are very good. The ribs are probably the best I've had at a Utah BBQ joint so far. Just for that it receives high praise from me. The sides were all good, but not great. The best is probably the baked beans. Definitely recommend. So far it's the best BBQ joint in or near SLC, and I've been to quite a few. read more

Great Brisket! So juicy and flavorful. I ordered the brisket loaded nachos and loved everything about it. They are located inside a neighborhood food hall called Block Party 2700. Such a fun concept. There is plenty of seating inside and if you want to eat outside there is seating on a cute plant lined patio. I like the fact that they give you a buzzer so you can go grab a table and then be notified when your food is ready. Great customer service. Very friendly. Great food. Great service, great bbq, reasonable prices. My wife ordered the brisket salad, which was a slam dunk. So good! I ordered the ribs with cole slaw and beans. Ribs were fantastic and their house bbq sauce was A+. I could have drank that sh!t. Beans were awesome as well. I ordered my 2 year old daughter the bbq pork sandwich which made me jealous that I didn't order another one for myself. And that cole slaw! Holy smokes, I have never been so impressed with how well a legit bbq place made their cole slaw. It had all the wonderful greatness of classic cole slaw that I grew up eating at KFC, but with it also tasting super fresh and elevated. I was impressed. Served in an unorthodox hoagie style bread this behemoth comes with three patties, American cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onions and of course garlic. There's was a slight concern that these burgers would be on the heavy garlic side, but in fact the garlic is somewhat subtle. Great burgers are tough to come by in Utah and this is up there with the best.

I noticed there was a paint night activity going on-it looked like fun! There were several people at the bar enjoying themselves and everyone was behaving nicely. It's not a rowdy bar, much more of an after-work or business traveler crowd. In addition to a drink, I snagged an order of fries since I was starving. Don't judge. Wine and fries make an excellent dinner. And it was delightful.
