The tarp was expensive, but I was told that if I chose them for the full roof replacement, they would credit half the tarp cost toward the job, which seemed reasonable at the time. Unfortunately, everything after that was a problem. I repeatedly requested a quote for the roof replacement. Each time, I was assured "we'll definitely send it" -- and then nothing. This happened multiple times over several weeks. Communication and follow-through were consistently poor. On the day I was ready to make a decision, I gave them one final opportunity, largely because of the promised tarp credit. They finally sent a quote -- and it was shocking. Their price was about $5,000 higher than the most expensive quote I received, while the materials and scope matched what other licensed roofers were offering at roughly half the price. In other words, Stay Dry was asking nearly double the cost for essentially the same scope of work. A fast initial response does not make up for: Repeated broken promises Lack of follow-through And pricing that was completely disconnected from the market I strongly recommend getting multiple quotes and being very cautious before hiring Stay Dry Roofing. Based on my experience, I would not use them again.

After enough going back and forth, I decided it was time to pursue a better contractor - one that I could actually trust and I would know they would deliver on a new kitchen. This is when we met Dustin at Sekoya Construction. From our first interactions, he was very respectful and easy to talk to. He understood the issues we were facing and stayed within our budget. Not only that, but the crew he brought to the home was just as cordial and respectful as well. I never met a team like Dustin's where I got to know everyone on a first name basis and trust was so easily established. After a few weeks of quick work (including working around Thanksgiving), the team was able to put our kitchen back together before the Christmas holiday. This explains why there are so many companies with 5 star ratings. I narrowed it down to 3 companies; they all had their strong points. But I ultimately went with Lance and Quality Power Washing. He certainly did not disappoint! He is very respectful and came across extremely honest. Not only did he do a fantastic job cleaning our roof, but also cleaned the exterior of our entire house. He sent me pictures of the progress throughout the day, so I could see first hand the night-and-day difference of our cleaned roof. Afterwards, he washed down our walkways and driveways and cleaned up all the mud and debris that came down from our roof. It looked amazing. He also went above and beyond and cleaned up the over spray that went over to our neighbors' houses as well. In a crowded field of highly-rated roof cleaners, Lance stood out above the rest. Well, here it is a year later after I had Shelley Roofing install some dormers to optimize my whole…read morehouse fan. It changed the way our house can cool down during the couple of weeks we need it around here. We went from using the fan at high to usually now using it at low and it works great. After taking a bunch of time and Cameron coming to our house several times with samples and then going to the shingle distributor to see even more samples, The Wife finally chose a color. Thank you Cameron for your patience with "us" ( a.k.a. The Wife). Once the color was chosen, we reviewed the contract with the things we needed done, most of that was in addition to slapping on the shingles. I requested that they repair any rotted facia and other wood they encountered, removed and dispose of our gutters, install a couple of vents on the garage and add some insulation above our open beam ceiling that gets super hot in the summer and cold in the winter. In addition we replaced our, who knows how old, sky light. No worries, these were added to the contract with some open ended costs since they did not know how much wood they needed to replace. That was cool with me as I felt they would be fair and they were. Once the permit was pulled by Cameron, we scheduled a date for the start. The process was to take 5 days from removal to completion. Actually, we needed some more items to complete the job so it took and extra day. The first day was tear off, installing the insulation and covering the entire roofs (house and separate garage) with plywood, as is required by city code. The tear off was efficient and the team did a great job of cleaning up the entire property of the old roof and checked the neighbor's property for anything that may have drifter either way. Great job. Since our living room is open beam up to the slats under the roof, as is the garage, we had put plastic sheets suspended from the walls and beams to capture as much of the stuff that would fall through the slats below the felt. It worked great. Unfortunately, the tear off crew felt the mess was done and took away most of the plastic sheeting. So, we had a huge mess in the garage and living room as the work continued the next several days as even when the plywood sheeting was on, the walking on the roof made more bits and pieces drop below. We were able to clean it up along the way. The plastic should have stayed in place to help mitigate the mess. Since I don't expect to replace a roof again, this is a note for others and no longer my concern! The work progressed and Cameron and crew laid shingles, replaced rotted wood, added vents to the garage and did a great job of painting all of the pipes, dormers and flashing to match the roof. Excellent job. We are very happy with all of the work by Shelley Roofing and their tear off crew. The roof is great. The insulation in the living room has transformed how that space feels when the sun beats on it all day. Just awesome.
