Michael DJed for my friend's wedding and I was so impressed by his work that I ended up hiring him for my own wedding. What makes him stand out from other DJs is how thoroughly he works with his couples to customize a unique playlist that's authentic to them and their love story. We wanted our playlist to be a mix of EDM, 2000s pop and hip hop hits and...Disney?! Interesting mix, but he pulled it off and we were so happy with how it all turned out! We had a couple of meetings with him before our wedding to iron out all of our details from the ceremony to the reception and of course the dance floor. He was helpful in coming up with song ideas and also worked with our other vendors on our timeline. We worked with Michael and Ovation for our wedding in San Diego and utilized his services for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. As people who really care about sound and music, after searching for various wedding DJs and not really finding anyone who stood out, Michael came to us recommended by a friend and wedding planner who spoke highly of not only of his great MC skills, but also of his professionalism and organization, which at the time, we thought was an interesting comment to make about a DJ. Her comments soon proved to be absolutely accurate as Michael was efficient and organized from the moment we met him via email, with timely email responses, and prompt scheduling of Zoom meetings prior to our wedding. He also came prepared with his own wedding schedule/timeline on a Google doc which we were able to edit up until the week of the wedding as our ideas/songs/processional order changed. He reviewed several Spotify playlists we provided as inspiration for the ceremony and reception. We absolutely appreciated his professionalism throughout the process, as well as his expert feedback regarding our song choices. He is professional and adaptable, and clearly well-versed in all genres of music. Wow! What a night! Michael MC-ed our wedding in August and it was one of the funnest parties I've ever been to. Every single one of our guests, from 3 year old to 80 year old, were on the dance floor almost all night long. Michael is without question the best DJ and MC on this planet! As I was researching different DJs, his positive reviews and the kind, professional vibes he gave out during our phone conversations sold me. My fiancé and I had so much fun meeting with him and planning out every detail of the wedding. We made several changes to our schedule based on his recommendations and we are very glad we did! He knows how to get guests involved and having a good time, and how to move through the evening at a good pace. We really appreciate Michael's attention to detail, and he did a phenomenal job editing a couple of songs for our processional and first dance. Since our ceremony was outdoors, we were concerned about the quality of sound, especially after experiencing poor outdoor sound systems at a few of our friends' weddings. Best DJ ever, we used Michael for my youngest daughters wedding in 2017 and he was amazing, everyone raved about him and how much fun they had. Where do I begin? Michael was the highlight of my wedding planning. He is more than a DJ, he also becomes an extension of a wedding coordinator. Plus, he was in constant communication with all our vendors. One of the difficult parts of wedding planning is the "what ifs" for the day of and if things don't go according to plan. But with Michael, I felt like knowing he had everything organized and so put together really helped the stress of wedding planning. I was able to trust that he would make sure things are flowing and going smoothly on the day of! Even leading up to the day, he was so helpful, had as many meetings as we needed and answered all of our emails and questions so quickly. Michael McNeil is the BEST!!! He is the real deal...he took our wedding to a whole different level. You know you have a great DJ when your photographer even writes a review on how awesome he is!! All these pictures you see from other reviews of a "packed dance floor" are all Michaels doing. I remember thinking how I've never seen a dance floor so packed at a wedding! Hiring Michael was the smartest decision we ever made for the wedding planning process. He not only meets up with you 5 times before the wedding but he gives out these amazing favors to keep the party pumped up. It's crazy how excited people get with the dance floor props.
