I ordered the BermudaGrass Maya Blackjack II seeds from Outside Pride, and overall I'm really happy with the results. For under $100, I was able to seed a whole section of my yard, and after some TLC and weed control, I can honestly say I now have the best-looking lawn in the neighborhood. The grass came in thick, green, and healthy. It's a beautiful variety--dense and lush once established. However, I did notice some weeds mixed in early on. I'm not sure if they came from the seed bag or from the soil, but I had to do some extra work with post-emergent weed killer to get things cleaned up. Once I got that under control, the results were impressive. I reached out to customer support to ask about the weeds but never heard back. That was disappointing--1/5 for support. Still, the value and end result made it worth it. I'd rate the product itself a solid 4/5 and the value 5/5. If you're willing to put in a bit of work, this seed can transform your yard without breaking the bank. read more

This is the first time I've tried Outsidepride zinnias - this company has a wonderful selection, so many beautiful options. I ordered a single packet of Double Zahara Raspberry Ripple. I started them indoors in a seed starting tray. Unfortunately, I had zero germination. Luckily it was early enough to order another round of zinnias from another company. Same starting process, and thankfully I had 100% germination. Now, I don't know why the Outsidepride seeds did not germinate, but I'm not going to fault them because I know anything can happen. And since I only had a single packet of seeds, I did not seek help from their customer service team. I do plan on ordering seeds for next season and should I experience something similar, I will call on them for help. I'm looking forward trying rudbekia, geranium, cornflower, and zinnias seeds. These varieties should thrive in my zone 10 area. Hoping for the best! read more

I ordered from Outsidepride this part spring and was pleased with the seed quality on the products I purchased. In August then I sowed crimson clover. It has grown up nicely and is making a solid cover crop. I do need to weed out a few sports that have extra growth in them, but that's minor. The only things I'd love to see is gift cards from the company. I could give them to family during the holiday, I know a few gardeners who's be thrilled. Their seeds was excellent and shipping was faster than I thought; I believe I will look for some spring products for next year for the sideyard. read more

My family and i purchased an Aerogarden system. We decided to get seeds online from Outside pride and started with Rosemary. The germianted very fast and we were able to plant them in the garden within two weeks. The plants grew even more robust when outside and then kept growing. The fragrants is amazing and we think they help keep mosquitos and other insects away from teh tomatos and squash. We will add to the mix and gonna buy more from this company. Like the that they are family owned and operated. read more

I love this site. I've ordered clover seed from a bunch of different companies over the years, and Outsidepride is the only one I keep coming back to, especially for its Miniclover seeds now. I live in Arizona so its drought-tolerence and overall low-maintence benefits are especially appreciated, along with the affordable in a few of my backyard beds, but I'm planning to order mire for a few other "problem" spots around the front yard considering how way its is taking. read more

I ordered Miniclover from Outsidepride this spring to try something different for the lawn at our lakehouse. Honestly, I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I've been really impressed. The coverage is solid, it filled in faster than I expected, and it has this nice look that works perfectly in a more natural setting. Shipping was quick and the seed came well-packaged with clear labeling. I followed the directions on the product page--kept it moist in the early weeks and made sure not to bury the seed too deep--and it came in great. It's been a few months now and it's held up well even with some heavy rain and foot traffic. We have a sloped areas that I was concerned that it would not grow on and it is really thriving. I've tried other seed brands over the years, but this is easily one of the better results I've had. For anyone considering a low-maintenance lawn alternative, I'd definitely recommend giving their Miniclover a shot. read more

Inferior, Expensive Product. Terrible Customer Service I bought some microclover seed last fall, preparing the soil and following directions for planting. It came up fine and looked good in early spring. I bought more seed and planted this spring. Once again it germinated and established well. The first time we had a few hot days, large patches of the microclover quickly turned brown, shriveled and died. I informed customer service of the problem and received an email that told me they were sorry but that happens if you over water. That was it. I did not over water. They didn't ask for pictures, didn't ask about my watering or care of the lawn, the weather, where I live. Nothing. No customer service at all. This product is advertised as drought resistant, hardy. ect. It's really just a broadleaf weed that is sold a price more expensive than the best grass seed because it needs little care once established and no fertilizing. It died from a few sunny days while other wild clover in adjoining areas thrive. Don't waste your money and time with this company and its overpriced, inferior microclover seed because they don't back up their product. Get some very cheap Dutch clover seed somewhere else and have a better result without the aggravation of this co read more

I've bought a lot of mini-clover and white clover seeds from Outsidepride across 5 years. It's okay - germinates well and very fast. However, it is not heat tolerant as they claim. I live in zone 6. We had three days of a heat wave this summer and literally 90% of all of my clover planted across 5 years fried. Completely died. This stuff is not cheap! If you get a heat wave, even for a day, water, water, water it. read more

Fabulous family-owned seed company that I decided to try this year. I ordered a fescue blend from Outsidepride earlier this year, specifically the Combat Extreme Northern Zone mix, and we like how it turned out. I think the OptiGrowth coating they use really made a difference--germination was fast and pretty even. I followed the instructions, watered consistently, and avoided mowing too early, and that seemed to do the trick. I did notice they the company also has similar blends for other arts of the country. One of the best resources that has been helpful for me is the grass seed selector tool that can be filtered by state. It then tells me (or anyone ) what are some of the best grass seeds to buy. read more

I have ordered from here twice. Easy to do via the website, which has a wide selection of grass seeds. i ordered on the 50 ish pound range. The prices are better than most and shipping pretty quick. i can't attest to the germination of the first bag (either way), could be me, so this time different seeds with coatings for better results. Prices way better than big box store, better selection. i wanted fescue, and all the seem to have is dominated by rye, and germination is the same. read more

This is an awesome company. I was in need of adding something to the order and I called their line, the order only line said they wouldn't be able to help but said I can email. Overnight, right away, Candy helped cancelled the order so I can placed a new one in with the additional items I want to put on the order. They helped me out well and they stay in communication well and carry out professionally. On contrary, I placed on order with territorial seeds (from Oregon) and they are terrible. They promised a discount to adjust the overpriced shipping fees but then did not honor the promise so I have to cancel the entire order. Such a hassle and a waste of time. What a difference a good supportive customer service can make! read more

Thanks to Outside Pride's false advertising, my yard is ruined. I spent thousands of dollars and so many hours overhauling it, and planted their miniclover that's advertised to only grow 4-6" tall. Well, what I know now from their "customer service" is that it's that height only if you mow it to that height. Yup, you heard right, that's their defense as the miniclover is 15" tall in my yard. It's also straggly and nothing like the photos, despite following planting directions to a T. They've taken no responsibility, not even refunding the purchase price, so clearly not a company to be trusted. I gave them plenty of time to make this right before posting publicly. Definitely recommend you avoid this company at all costs. If they surprise me by doing the right thing down the road, I'll edit this review. read more

Horrible experience my order was placed May 24. I never got an email or text confirmation to to expect arrival of my over $60 order when it finally got here and the weather was perfect. I used all of the seeds east side of my house I'm on the west side of my house, not one seed germinated out of all of it so I called the company back. Got a new person. Who gave me the email address to send in my complaint to department I got a rather rude email back that they are not responsible that their is perfect and even though I've worked for a lawn care company for 13 years, they're saying that I must not have been able to the correctly Extremely angry read more

It 's raining in El Cerrito today. Probably will be raining again tomorrow. Time to dance about the lawn with white clover seed. Bagfuls of little black seeds pouring out onto the brown dirt. Today I am channeling the ghost of Isadora Duncan in a sopping wet sweatshirt and blue jeans. I am Isadora dancing in the spring throwing fistfulls of seed all about the landscape. Who cares if the neighbors laugh...we are the indigenous folk...the ones who have tilled the soil for nearly a century. Long before their gardeners rolled up turf and laid it in geometric patterns on their prissy-flat postage stamp yards. Long before anyone anywhere had even dreamt of astro-turf. (Or whatever that abrasive plastic stuff is called.) I've heard that the local football field will soon be covered with the stuff, I'm wondering about skinned knees and elbows. It's time to order another bag of white dutch clover from Outsidepride.com and to joyously greet the mailman who knows exactly what the mysterious package contains. Because he delivered white clover last year. And the year before. And the year before that. All the way back to the time when the UPS driver (who is no longer working this gig) Refused to deliver the package to the top of our stairs. Sent it instead to the library...where I dragged the burlap bag onto BART, dragged it up the hill, dragged it up the stairs And sprinkled it about our yard in the rain. So of course, on that long-ago day, I called the folks at Outsidepride.com who were...how shall I say this politely...adequately miffed. After all, Outsidepride is a small family operation which takes pride in their seed products. And the promptness of their delivery. Now my mailman brings my seeds. Always with a story about how his lawn is doing. And which gophers, mice or snails are threatening his gardening efforts. Outsidepride.com delivers his seeds, too. So...in an odd way, I guess we are all family. Or at least we have a common nursery. Anyway...the seeds are here. Its time to sow. This year I'm also planting creeping thyme in the driveway. (You can ask, but I may not say...) And asparagus fern seed on the hilltop. So the newby neighbors will have something to look at from their plastic lawnchairs. Thanks, Outsidepride.com...I know our old house is a little seedy. But then again, in a week or two... Once again it will be green. read more

DO NOT USE this 'company'(heavy sarcasm). they are a fraud. they took my money and did not provide any product. from the reviews i have read their seeds are pretty bad so maybe it worked out for me to not get their junk? i ended up using a different company who DID deliver the seeds to me AND on time, without all the attitude. read more

This is a true scam. I ordered some seed from them and they never arrived. When I wrote customer service, Candy Hake, one of the owners, gave a snarky reply that I must have misplaced the envelope. After another few weeks of waiting I asked for a refund and the line went cold. The phone number only connects to a sales woman who is either unable or unwilling to connect you through to anyone in the company. Porch piracy was not an option as A) I have USPS Informed Delivery and a Ring system, so I know what mail I am receiving and who has been on my porch at all times, and B) as Candy so eloquently put it, "It's easily overlooked by our customers looking for a box or large package, since it's just a small manila envelope and would be amongst your catalogues, letters and junk mail.", thus no crook would have thumbed through my letters to pull that one out. In January I ordered 3 packets of seeds from Outsidepride.com, blue cupid dart seeds, white cupid dart seeds and yarrow seeds. Each were 4.99 a packet + shipping. Later I purchased fernleaf bleeding heart seeds for my mothers new home. I am no novice with seeds but I have not grown any of these seeds before so I read everything and followed all the instructions, even verified on other websites. Fast forward and all seeds have been planted, the yarrow looks great but nothing from the others. I double check and take the next step in the bleeding heart's process but the cupid darts should have been long up. April 9th I emailed customer service explaining about the cupid dart seeds not germinating and if they could offer any insight and perhaps replacement seeds. I spoke to Candy. She was rude and blamed me for them not germinating saying that I planted them both too shallow and too deep and that because I used potting soil I killed the seeds with fertilizer. I tried these seeds two ways in two different soils by the way. I bit my lip and said I would give them another shot. During this time I found someone online that knew the seeds well and said they were easy! I located another vendor, purchased the seeds and planted them. Nearly all have come up and still nothing on my final test from Outsidepride's seeds. On May 2nd I replied to Candy and explained what I had found. I got nothing, no replies. I tried calling them but the number is only for orders and is just a call center. I went back to Facebook and I was told "I'm very sorry for your experience. Candy is excellent in customer service. I have to trust that she knows what she's doing.". I asked by doing what, she hasnt done anything but ignore me and I just want this taken care of. This went back and forth a bit and in the end I was told "There is not going to be any further assistance to you." I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I made a post on their Facebook page which they removed and blocked me from posting. Please spread the word!
