Recently applied for a new mortgage. The experience was unexpectedly negative. Loan officer assigned to the file was inexperience and unknowledgeable. Unbeknownst to us, she submitted our loan to underwriting with income information we advised countless time to be excluded and sent us a pre-qual letter based on erroneous information. With this letter, we submitted an offer on a home (and let the loan officer know we submitted an offer as well). A few days later, our loan officer emailed us and advised underwriting was unable to approve the loan as she submitted it with incorrect info resulting in our DTI being too high. The only solution offered was to increase our down payment by $99,000.00. We were not able to do this. As such, NFCU withdrew the loan application. 30 minutes later, I had some additional thoughts on how to possibly save the application. Maybe payoff a vehicle loan or a student loan in order to decrease the DTI. I called and emailed and left messages for the loan officer. No response. I called and left messages for the loan officers manager. No response. Very surprised and disappointed in the slow processes, the erroneous processing, the disregard for information provided and the lack of response by the officer and the manager.

So check this out. We have several accounts. I have one, hubby has one and we have a joint account. So I closed my account. They want to start charging $10.00 per mo. Sorry, I'm not going to pay that. That's $120.00 per yr. So I closed it. Ok, so now I don't have access to this closed account anymore right? So a few days later, I go to the joint account to pay a bill and to transfer money from the joint account to another bank. So I didn't see anything pending in the other bank. hummmm, so I call. They can't tell me anything, I call the other bank, they say it's not on there in, and give it another day. Now I'm getting pissed. So I call Armed forces bank. Ohhhh some how they took money out of the closed account, huh? How the heck did that happen, and I don't have access to that account. Well bill pay, did it. Ok, I need $ transferred to that bank, and you guys need to get that $ out of the account it was transferred to. They said oh after a certain amount of time they system will catch it. We will do a free transfer to your other account. You should have it in a few hours. Ok cool. So anyway to make the story short. I was on the phone with them all week. No one knew anything, no one can see that I had double the $ that was transferred to that account. I was so annoyed. Finally, I got a phone call from the bill pay. I told them I had been on the phone with AFB all week, and they couldn't tell me to call bill pay (your company) Also come to find out from the bill pay guy. That on the AFB if you have more than 1 account you have to go in and delete that account! Ok, I don't freaking work for the bank. Why couldn't they tell me when I closed that account that, that is something that I need to do, instead of causing all this confusion! Ya'll need better training! I'm done!

As someone who has entrusted you with two very large auto loans totaling approximately half a million dollars--including a recent G-Wagon financed about 9 months ago--I expect reliable, straightforward banking services. Unfortunately, what I've encountered has been the absolute worst customer service and technical reliability I've ever dealt with from any financial institution. The primary issue revolves around making simple car payments via Zelle from my Bank of America account to my America First account. This process has been plagued by repeated, unexplained failures despite my efforts to resolve it: - Initially, it required **four separate phone calls** totaling over **2 hours** on hold and speaking with representatives, only for them to ultimately direct me to visit a branch in person. - I spent more than **30 minutes** at a branch to get the issue temporarily fixed, after which I successfully made payments for about four months. - Suddenly, the problem reappeared without warning. I just spent another **30 minutes** on the phone with a CSR, who informed me the system is simply "rejecting" the transfer. This is for a standard $3,400 payment--I'm literally trying to give you money, and your system is blocking it for no apparent reason. The only "solution" offered is to call back each time it happens again. This is completely unacceptable. I own multiple businesses and cannot afford to waste 30-45 minutes (or more) on the phone every single month due to recurring technical failures on your end. These repeated disruptions make it extraordinarily difficult and frustrating to even pay my loans on time, despite my willingness and ability to do so promptly. This level of incompetence and poor support is pushing me to seriously consider refinancing my loans elsewhere and moving my banking relationships to a more reliable institution. I chose America First because of the size of my loans and the expectation of competent service--not to face constant barriers when attempting to make payments.
