So we went to 3 different orthodontists before choosing Dr. Wilson. It was an easy choice. The other 2 orthodontists wanted to take extreme measures - expanders, full braces on upper and lower, etc. However, Dr. Wilson understood that my child was only 8. He doesn't need full braces now. He just needed those teeth turned and space held for future teeth trying to grow in. I appreciated that Dr. Wilson took our issues seriously, but was still conservatively appropriate in his treatment plan. I also was impressed that Dr. Wilson took one look at my son's teeth and understood some complications with my son's mouth that I hadn't even told him about yet. He is definitely competent at what he does and a very personable man. His office is always bright and cheery. They are always on time. We have never had to wait for our appointment. It is a fun, positive place for my son. We could not be more pleased. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Wilson.

His dental hygienists are friendly and knowledgable. I have a strong sensitivity to cold, and they take the time to warm up the water before cleaning my teeth. They always tell me if I'm doing a good job brushing/flossing, or if it looks like I've been missing a spot. And Dr. De Paoli himself - he's the best dentist I've worked with, hands down. Always so happy and friendly, he clearly loves his job. And like his team, he is very knowledgeable. He was willing to listen and change his approach when it came time to numb me up for a crown. It was the first dental procedure that wasn't excruciating... in fact, once he got started it was painless! I've unfortunately moved away, but luckily I still have family in the area. Because of that, I still come back and see Dr. De Paoli when I visit them. I'd be hard pressed to find another dentist I trust as much as him.

I have been going to this Dental office for about 6 years now...maybe 7 and I have had a pleasant…read moreexperience every time. Staff is always nice and prompt and they have been able to see me on short notice, making room in their schedule when they can. I have had many billing issues but it was NEVER their fault, it was all with my insurance which I have investigated and found to be fact. It had to do with replacing early crowns done by another dentist some 9 years ago and my insurance has some clause that a crown must be 10 years old before they cover the replacement, even though my crowns had to be replaced as they were failing. Dr. Schelin helped me to argue the reason for the crown replacements with insurance but the fine print is the fine print. I do not hold any responsibility against Custer Star for those issues. They were excellent help. Dr. Schelin and Kristy Pecina are great as is the front office staff. I do not have any experience with the other dentists or orthodontists in the office so I cannot comment on them. I can't speak to the other reviews on here where people have had negative experiences other than to say I have had crowns, a root canal, fillings, and my bi-annual cleanings with no regrets. It is always a pleasure working with their team.

I needed to get a semi-emergent tooth extraction, and my dentist couldn't fit me in on such late…read morenotice, so I went to a referral of a referral. I got a bad feeling from the moment I walked in. The receptionists were not friendly, the place smelled funny, and from the look of other clientele, it was apparent that this was a very low-price-low-quality establishment. But my tooth was hurting so badly, I chanced it and went forward with the procedure. After a 45 minute wait, here is what happened: First, they took me to the consultation room, where Dr. Hill confirmed with me what medicines I was on, and tapped on the tooth to make sure it was the right one. I began to ask several questions about the procedure, and was told "my assistant will handle that after the procedure." Then, before answering any questions, they demanded that I pay beforehand. Another red flag. They also charged me a $55 "consultation fee" which they neglected to mention when I called about pricing. Apparently, the doctor checking which tooth he is going to pull counts as a "consultation." Also, important to point out that I heard the doctor and a receptionist discussing what tooth they were going to pull on another patient. She had written "13" instead of "20". So she scribbled it out and wrote the right one. Ummmm, that's a little scary! When I was taken back to the room, the doctor came in, and gave me several shots in a row. While they were 100% effective at numbing me (which is a huge consideration, I know), I think he gave me about 6 shots in 15 seconds. Literally just stabbing them into my gums. Nothing like I've ever experienced in my years of having dental work done. I was obviously very nervous about having a tooth pulled (almost hyperventilating) and he barely offered any assurances other than a quick "I'm the one that has to worry - not you." Gee, thanks. It took him 5 or 10 minutes to remove the tooth. Then I never saw him again. He said his assistant would answer all my questions, despite my request to talk to him. I should have been concerned when I was having a dental assistant answering questions about recovery from a major procedure. She knew nothing! I asked what I needed to do to prevent dry socket, and she said I didn't need to worry about it. I said "Well, I've heard I shouldn't suck on a straw. Anything else?" and she said 'Oh, don't worry. You can suck on a straw." WHAT?!? That's tooth extraction 101. No, you can't. I hated the practice so much that I refused to even go back for my checkup. I felt like a herded cattle being rushed through so they could charge as many "consultation fees" as they could. They could not care less about their patients. STAY AWAY.

Your first impression with a dr office is always over the phone to set your first appointment. Wow! So friendly, professional and helping you over the phone answering as many questions as you might have. Setting up the appointment was easy and filling out all your new patient forms online was as well. We knew that our children do need braces since they were little (every pediatric dentist have been telling that to us based on the X-rays). Your little ones will need braces! So, we cam here preparing ourselves that it will be a long treatment that's not fully covered by insurance. First of all, Dr Ghosh is pretty awesome with children. He took away all their nervousness by engaging them in conversation, explaining and keep checking on them if they understand the treatment plan and how to take care of their braces. He also cracked little jokes here and there to make them smile and laugh, which is pretty awesome! The staff has been nothing but helpful and friendly. We had to come in couple of times to fix some issues on their braces. And we were able to get same day appointments and get any issues fixed right away. They also offer payment plans for patients which is great and thankfully they deal with all the insurance claims and I don't have to worry about a thing! And I can already see some improvements just after a month of wearing their braces, my kids teeth look already so much more straight! And it gives them such a confidence boost! We absolutely love Dr. Ghosh and his team here in Allen!
