There was just one other couple riding with us, which made it feel more personal and relaxed; not crowded at all. The horses were well-behaved and mostly stayed in their own line, so even if you're not an experienced rider, it's easy to get comfortable pretty quickly. The ride itself takes you through the woods and along dirt roads, with a few inclines and declines mixed in. It's not overly challenging, but it's enough to keep it interesting and give you a good feel for the terrain. We weren't able to cross the river due to all the recent rain, but that's obviously out of their control. Even without that portion, the ride was still worth it. Overall, well run, enjoyable, and something we'd definitely do again the next time we're in the area.

I hate to be effusive but, once inside, the phrases didn't stop. The cabin is at once elegant and unassuming. It's simply built and decorated in a wonderful way. You won't be let down and left wondering if the photos were actually taken at the place in question. Here, the photos don't do it justice. It's nestled in the woods with trees all around, but has a convenient drive up so it's not a hassle getting luggage inside. The views are stunning, and the appointments super comfortable, from the beds and linens, to the shower/bath features and amenities, to the Apple tv casting, letting me cast from my Apple phone/ipad onto the tv (we were able to download movies to our ipad then cast them to the tv for viewing). They have yurts to rent, putt putt golf, and a snow cone/coffee stand that has become better and better over the years. The lookout kitchen is finally open after that whole debacle with the state, but I need to go back and try it. The building is beautiful though and right in the water. We've camped here in our RV too, and the spots are spacious, quiet, and very woodsy. It's always fun to hike up to the cave too. The history of this area is so cool.
