We tried a Seafood combo #1, which was... surprising. It was a white wine sauce with clams, mussels, and shrimp over angel hair pasta. The surprising part was that it used what was really more of a broth than a sauce. The dish was more like a noodle soup, which was unexpected. The flavor was good though! I wouldn't order it again since I don't usually order pasta expecting a soup, but it wasn't bad! We also got the linguini carbonera. It used ham though; usually, I'd prefer pancetta, but thought I could give it a try anyway. This dish wasn't bad, but it was also a bit disappointing. Using ham for the dish did it the most disservice. Ham doesn't have enough fat content to add flavor to the dish. They also did not use enough aged cheese, instead, they used heavy cream to compensate for it. A lot of restaurants do this to cut down on costs, but it truly affects the quality of the dish. Without enough cheese, the flavor was not deep enough. However, the cream added plenty of richness. We tried the Supreme Pizza. It was good! The crust was perfect, and it was loaded with toppings and mozzerella cheese. A no frills standard pizza!

We have been there four times now over the last year since our friends turned us on to this place a year ago. I come from an Italian family background of great cooks and recipes and I have to say this place truly fulfills my cravings for true Italian dishes. The linguine and white clam sauce is to die for! Perfect every time I've ordered it. The calamari has always been cooked to perfection and my wife says she can't get enough of the stuffed mushrooms. We took our daughter, who is visiting from Colorado, for the first time last night and she claimed the ziti plate she ordered was incredibly good. The staff is always very friendly and our service has always been excellent. The only reason we don't eat there more often is because it's a very long drive from our home and they don't have the linguine and clams at the Pass Christian location, (which is much closer to our home), yet, but I was promised last night it was coming. In the mean time we will make the drive because when it comes to Italian down here on the coast, they simply can't be beat PS, the new flooring was a nice pleasant surprise but I was fine with the worn painted concrete

It was very crowded and we had to wait a little bit longer than our reservation time but that was okay because we sat at the bar and enjoyed some drinks before our dinner. The bartender was great and very friendly. We ordered some Alfredo and stuffed Artichoke wow. We went to Rome two years ago and at at Alfredo's that claim to be the birth place of Alfredo sauce and we loved it. This was just as good. The noodles were delicious and fresh the sauce was very good too. The wife loved her artichoke. For our meal I had the Braciole first time ever and it was fantastic my wife had the veal lasagna and she loved it. The house salads were amazing flavor and we finished with ice cream with amaretto and cool whip and bourbon pecan pie with ice cream. So much food left over. A true Italian restaurant. Atmosphere was loud and friendly and everyone having a great time visiting and enjoying themselves over a great meal . The way it was meant to be. If you are looking for that quiet romantic atmosphere this is not it. If family and great food is what you want then this is a must go to place. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which sounded like a life decision I'd brag about later. What arrived was 4 ravioli and 4 small shrimp -- which, in most cultures, is called an appetizer but I might just need to go on a diet. Flavor-wise it was... politely stated..Not bad, just kind of bland. Also the shrimp still had the tails on, so dinner became a part-time job. Nothing says "fine dining" like performing minor seafood surgery in pink sauce while your pasta cools. The wine list was the real plot twist. No rosé. No Sauvignon Blanc. I have never -- and I mean never -- gone to an Italian restaurant and ordered beer out of necessity. Yet here we are. It just didn't feel right. Now, credit where it's due: the garlic bread was actually really good (though I'm pretty sure it didn't grow up in that kitchen), and the limoncello cake -- confirmed not house-made -- was honestly the star of the meal. Service was great, atmosphere was pleasant, and I didn't have a bad time... Three stars: good evening, questionable portion sizing, and a restaurant that accidentally convinced me to drink beer at an Italian restaurant.

Bread was brought to my table right before my food came out, which I appreciated. The portions are pretty big, so I took the rest of the meal home with me. I ordered a cannoli to go, and didn't expect it to have chocolate drizzled on it but it was a good combination. I'll definitely be returning to Joe's!

Nothing specific, just a lot of little things that kept it from being great. The restaurant was busy, but we got a table with no wait. Our waitress was trying hard but fell short. Watching other servers at the tables around us, I think she was new. Not a huge deal - everybody is a beginner at some point - but it diminishes the overall. The food was good but not great. Perhaps a little pricey, but not extremely so. Some of the old favorite menu items I expected to see were not on the menu, mainly the pasta & sauce & cheese stuff. Baked ziti is a personal favorite, and the only way it was offered was in a combo with other things. No ravioli except the kind stuffed with seafood. The lasagna and spaghetti & meatballs seem tacked on the menu like an afterthought. I didn't see any menu items that I can't get anywhere else. Stiff competition in this category - there are some very good Italian restaurants in Slidell. That said, Joe's definitely has the potential to be a solid 4-stars. It's a new location, maybe it was a bad night, who knows? I will certainly go back and give them another shot, so I recommend them. Go try it and see for yourself.

Let me say, the atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing. Live music, warm lighting, attentive servers, it's hard to find a reason to complain and it would be nit-picky to do so. The menu is MASSIVE. I didn't count, but if you told me there were 100 items, I would believe you. I get they want to appeal to everybody. Most restaurants can't even do 10 dishes well, let alone the amount present on this menu. So when I see that it makes me nervous, you might very well be looking at a minefield of a menu where some items are delicious and other items...well...not so much. Anyway, I started with the mozzarella...I forgot what they were called but it was a mozzarella stick but much larger. They were huge and if you like cheese, you will like these, no doubt. Moving on, I ordered the Veal Parmesan. Flavor was great but the texture was off, breading did not stay on the meat (not that I expected it all to) but clearly the chef failed to dry the exterior of the filet before frying it. In spite of that, the seafood my other dinner guests ordered looked great and I realize that its probably the restaurant's strength. I will probably be back to give it another shot.
