I submit this review with all due respect: I've have had 3 sessions with Kari for one large piece. Had it all been done in one session, it would have been a big relief. Let me explain why. I have art in the form of ink that's been completed by 7 different artists. Three of these are extremely reputable here in Los Angeles. The remaining artists are form outside the country. For those of you that know, you know that it is a very important and valid necessity for the tattoo artist and their client to have a positive and spiritual connection. It is after all a required element in a true tat session, 100%. For me, all of my experiences with the various artists that worked on me were exceptional all around. Especially in spiritual connection. This was unfortunately and very surprisingly not at all the case with Kari. Without exaggeration, Kari was/is simply a cold artist in terms of her bedside manner. I'm big on energy. ESPECIALLY when it pertains to the artist that works on me. Kari's energy is very stiff, she goes by the book and she makes it appoint to let you know through her energy that she is not there to converse with you. If you ask her a question, she'll give you a one word answer then clam up. I also sensed her employees were not relaxed around her, without a doubt. One female employee nevously fumbled on her words in conversation with Kari, as she approached while working on me. That only confirmed that I had read. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Just cold all around. Not one, not two but three times. I give her 2 stars for her lack of sensitivity when catering towards her clients on a spiritual level. I'm a very friendly and mature woman. My sessions with my past tat artists have rocked my world with their positive conversation. Sometimes heavy...sometimes light. Either way, I've had a fabulous connection with these beautiful souls that have tatted me over the decade. NOT the case with Kari. It's a damn shame I didn't have this experience with Kari, because she is wickedly talented. I met someone a year ago at a party and we were admiring each other's sleeves. It turned out that she too had a Barba tat. Of course I had to ask. She agreed that Kari is a closed box and "no fun" but she only had to complete one sesh with her. So really, if you just don't give a shit about your artist's personality, then I do highly recommend, Kari. However, if you're like most as you knowingly appreciate and deserve the righteous connection between artist and client, then Kari's not your artist. Would I get a tattoo from her if it were free? to start off, i've gone through the work of every single artist @ outer limits and they are all amazingly talented and friendly. their work is incredible, and i honestly think this is the best shop in long beach, and even la county, at minimum. the shop is extremely clean, there's enough room between each station for clients/artists to walk around without running into another client's/artist's space, and the environment is very comfortable to be in, whether you're accompanying someone or getting work done yourself. personally, i've chosen to only ever work with yvonne, so if anyone is considering her, THIS IS YOUR SIGN. ________________________________________________________________________________ i've been coming here since 2013 and to this day i continue to receive daily compliments from complete strangers on Yvonne's pieces. not only does she have a steady hand, her lines are amazingly clean and her attention to detail and perfection goes above and beyond what i had expected. i'm incredibly picky about linework and juxtaposition and she never fails to capture my ideas while making everything come together so well. she'll take all the time she needs during the placement of a stencil, as well as mine and another artist's opinion before it's permanent, leaving you without any doubts or second thoughts, making each and every piece perfect. during (as well as after) a tattoo, she'll go over what care i'll need to practice in order for the best healing possible. she'll also inform me on how much she's saturating it or not based on the placement and size of it, which is comforting to hear because it only proves she's invested time and skill into every piece and sincerely cares about the outcome. i always leave the shop with just as much, if not more, excitement as i had before the appt. my first tattoo was 6 hours long, and although i have a high pain tolerance, not once did i feel uncomfortable pain or positioning during the session, so i always recommend her for anyone who is looking for their first tattoo and is worried about the pain/discomfort of a needle. she's got an amazing attitude, she's funny as hell, and has a genuine personality; also, her choice in music is **chef's kiss** when it comes to scheduling, she's usually booked, which is understandably so with her talent, but she always accommodates me and goes above and beyond to make sure it works out with my schedule. during a session, she'll also ask if i was dropped off so i could inform my ride to pick me up, which is incredibly considerate of her. all in all, she's my favorite and really the only tattoo artist i can always count on for amazing work. not that i've searched for a different artist, but i've yet to see someone with half as much talent as she possesses. she's super caring, down to earth, and so kind that she's even provided me with merchandise on multiple occasions after a session. if you end up working with Yvonne, you'll understand why i love her work as much as i do & why i will continue to go back for more. I came to Outer Limits for help with a cover-up tattoo for a small and simple hummingbird tattoo I had gotten somewhere else. After deciding I wanted a bigger and more detailed watercolor-style tattoo, I was looking up tattoo artists in the area and decided that Jorell had the exact art style that I wanted to incorporate into my design. When I first started the process, I called in to make a consultation and discuss what I had in mind for Jorell. I was able to get an appt with him in early August. After parking in the Pike Parking Structure (which I would not recommend as it's really expensive), I was able to meet Jorell and show him my reference photos and explain how I still wanted a hummingbird tattoo but for it to cover the one I currently had. I'm really happy he was for the idea! He explained that he didn't want to just copy the reference photo I had and wanted to make it more personal and meaningful for me. He gave me some homework to look up some species of hummingbirds that were native to where I was located or that I found especially aesthetic and to briefly explain my motivation behind getting this particular tattoo design. That really impressed me as my previous tattoo experience was more along the lines of showing the artist what I wanted and it getting done then and there. Afterward, I had to schedule a couple sessions to get the actual tattoo done and the earliest openings were in mid-January and mid-February. After a few e-mail exchanges and a few months of waiting, I was finally able to go in for my first session! This time around, I used the parking structure on Pine Ave, which was great since it was a flat fee of $5. The downside was that there was a bunch of construction blocking sidewalks to get there so I was just barely able to make it on time. Thankfully, Jorell was really chill about it and I filled out the paperwork and waited to see what he had designed. Just the outline itself was BEAUTIFUL. He was really able to incorporate all the aspects I had wanted and we were on the same page with what colors to use. Once the tattoo was officially done, I was completely blown away with how incredible and vibrant it turned out. Not only that, but he did an unbelievable job with the cover-up. It all looks so seamless!! While I had a rough idea of what I wanted, I was open to professional suggestions and couldn't be happier with Jorell's artistic quality and vision. I've already been telling my friends all about my experience and one of them is consider Outer Limits for a potential future tattoo. This is a tiny and fun museum. It may be the most history that I've ever seen packed into such a small space. I'm torn about sharing the pictures and videos that I took, because I could show you the entire thing in a few snapshots. But, I want you to go there, and see it for yourself. It's free, even though I think they should charge at least a couple bucks. If you can afford it, offer a donation. There is so much of value here that you will feel totally justified. Not only that but probably guilty if you don't lol I'm partial to this business because I'm from LBC. This is where I got all my body jewelry custom made and installed before they stopped doing piercings. That was over 10 years ago. Everyone is cool and friendly about me wandering around taking pictures while they handle their business. I didn't feel uncomfortable about it at all. I stuck around quite a while, soaking everything in. I would have loved to be here during that time. Parking is difficult to find. Be sure to come early to search for parking. I read all the reviews before deciding to have my tattoo done here and had high hopes. I WAS SORELY DISAPPOINTED! The reviews must be written by friends or the artists themselves. I've had 10 previous tattoo experiences and never felt less impressed. The place was not clean as advertised, I did not feel welcome or appreciated as a customer, it was hard to even get anyone's attention to get service. When an artist was finally assigned to me he didn't speak English fluently nor was he an official Outer Limits employee, he was visiting from Brazil. I had no discussion with the artist about what I wanted, if I wanted shading or black work, what specific colors I wanted, why I was getting the tattoo, nothing. He didn't say 2 words the entire time he was working on me. I had to fill out an consent form but they never checked my ID, not even when they took a credit card as payment. And, there were no aftercare instructions whatsoever. As I said, tattoo's are not new to me and I usually really enjoy the experience. This was a disappointment in every way. read more

Writing a review on Yelp about my tattoo artist seems so silly. It would be like writing a review about Picasso or Van Gogh. It's just so ridiculous. I do it because I feel people come to Yelp to complain more than praise and sometimes the negativity needs to be negated. About a year ago, I started getting serious about wanting to get a full sleeve tattoo. I saved money and scoured Pintrist, like any proper basic white girl would. I decided that being a crazy cat lady, I would get a portrait of my cat and then just go from there kind of deal. I found Ivana on Instagram and fell in love with her work. It's a combination of soft watercolor, hard graphic design, and colors that just blow your mind. It's a beautiful and perfect mess of color and design. I sent a babbling and unclear email to her about what I wanted. I didn't hear anything back for a few weeks so I sent another email. I finally did receive a response saying she didn't have anything available but to email her in 2 months. I waited and exactly 2 months later, I emailed her another vague request about a cat. She emailed me back a few days later stating very clearly to be more specific and to give KEY WORDS. I realized that this women is probably getting a million emails and Instagram\facebook messages a day with the most random requests. So I made it very clear what I wanted, and then I waited. Finally, a few weeks later I received an email with a date, time, and price. I found the golden ticket! The day of me appointment, I showed up super nervous because the longest I had ever sat for a tattoo was an hour and a half, and Ivana required a 5 hour minimum. She also required complete artistic freedom so I hoped she would go crazy and maybe spend 7 hours on my piece. I came prepared with snacks, water, a fully charged Iphone, Ipod, and Kindle. Ivana is quiet and sort of soft spoken. English isn't her first language and sometimes i had to repeat myself when I would babble and mutter. Her touch is so light. Her machine makes almost no noise. She is sort of intimidating, but in a very respectful way. Throughout the whole 7 hours, I never looked at my kindle, put my ear buds in, and I glanced at my phone twice. The music she played was banging and really kept me going. The conversation we had was casual but not trite. She made sure I was comfortable with breaks but also made sure she herself took breaks so that she was always fresh and alert. The initial experience and end result was so awesome that in four days I have my 4th appointment. 10 weeks and 16 hours later, my arm is a masterpiece in progress. She has taken complete creative control and ive never seen a sketch beforehand but it's been so worth it. Through our time together I have got to know Ivana a little more and I truly feel grateful for the experience. Through tattoos, fashion, art, photography, and books, Ivana has been put on this planet to make it more beautiful. Not only am I getting some world class ink, im getting a shot of awesome inspiration every single session. I leave with new ideas and a positive outlook on life after a sitting with her. She is like therapy, but with a needle and colorful ink. Ivana is very hard to book. She is "Highly Decorated" and "Coveted", and I'm not just saying that because I'm a crazy fan. She wins awards at almost every convention she goes to around the world. Her waitlist is crazy long. She is also very expensive. So far, you could buy a decent used car with what I have spent. When we are done, you could probably buy a brand new car with the cash I've dropped. It's worth it though. I absolutely adore my tattoo. She did sort of ruin my outlook on tattoos though. I have quite a few but now I regret not spending a little more time in thought over them. I've taken up so much valuable space on my body with cheap tattoos that now I have no room for the quality that I will only settle for now. Like I stated in the beginning, writing a review about an artist is just so fucking futile and useless. I saw the recent reviews about Ivana and personally felt the need to give a retort. So what, she didn't want to do your tattoo? Aren't you glad you didn't pay a super-premium to an artist to do something they weren't feeling? As a consumer in today's market, I feel like people think that they should get whatever they want because they have money and they are paying for it. This is not Burger King. You cannot have it your way. This is art. This is a private person's artistic expression. This whole experience is just not yours but someone else's as well. If you can't understand that, good. That's more hours Ivana is available for me and the rest of the people that have respect for the process. If she is to be docked any stars. It should be for the fact she made me like Kanye West. After listening to her play Yeezus during my first session, I had to download it. I'm ashamed to admit it but it's pretty fucking rad and its now in my regular rotation. read more

I was referred to this place by a couple of my heavily inked friends who've gotten some of their many tattoos from this shop. This being my first tattoo, I was a bit freaked out. But I met with one of the artists there (Yvonne) and she liked the artwork I'd picked, and said she could totally do it. The only drawback is that she's such a popular artist that there is like a 2-3 month waiting list. But it was worth the wait, because she did a fabulous job. On the day of the appointment, she totally took the time to discuss the placement and sizing of the tattoo, listened to my input and questions, and gave good feedback. She recommended we enlarge the image by about 10%, which turned out to be a great call. And she's great with the needle -- she's like a tattooing rock star! It took two sessions in the chair, about 8 1/2 hours total, but the final product was dynamite! One of my biggest fears about getting a tattoo was not the pain, but the "this is going to be on me FOREVER, so what if it doesn't come out right?" factor. But I couldn't be happier with the results; Yvonne rocks. As for the rest of the shop, it was clean, well lit, had a comfortable atmosphere, and friendly staff (although it was a bit busy and hectic at times). Anyway, I couldn't have asked for a better "1st tattoo" experience. If and when I ever get more ink, this shop will be my first choice. read more

After doing extensive research for the perfect artist, and a few recommendations from former clients of Shay Bredimus, I decided to approach Shay with a few ideas to commemorate my time in the service, fallen soldiers, and my pride for my country. What he came up with was amazing. Shay is very detailed oriented and does a large amount of research on your subject before you show up for your tattoo appointment. Checked out her schedule and made the appointment for today at 2pm. Arrived early to find her working on someone else and the guy at the desk told me it would be 15 mins. I thought it was odd that she didn't even turn to acknowledge me, but whatever. Took a seat and 2:15 rolls around and she is still tattooing this girls foot and chatting away with her and the guy who was with her and the gun was still going so it didn't sound like it was anywhere near done. I walked. I can't rate the work there but I know from many people that it's excellent, essentially why I was there in the first place. But when I make an appointment with someone, I expect it to be kept. The very least give me a heads up since I made the appointment with my name and phone number. It's important enough for me to have it done right so I might stop back in. $150 an hour, don't flake on appointments. Too many options for that kind of crap. read more

After a few months of searching and interviewing a few tattoo artists I decide to call Outer limits. However I read a few bios from the artist at Outer limits and Shay Bredimus caught my attention. I proceeded reading his personal web page and had a very interesting bio. Also checked out a few you tube videos and a few on line articles on Shay. I contacted Shay via email and explained to him my art work and what I wanted done. Shay replied back and said he liked the concept and to setup an appointment with the shop. From day one to the end all shop personnel was very friendly and showed professionalism. The day of my appointment I had all my art work ready however it wasn't complete and I knew I needed Shay's input on a few things. Shay right away jumped on it and looked at everything as I explained to him what I wanted. He assured me that the work can be done and he knew exactly what I wanted. He said this in a manner that made me feel comfortable and I decided right there and then to book him. He told me that it will be three sessions and the last session would be a follow up. The 1st session Shay had to tinker a little with positioning with the tattoo on the arm. This took a while however this was important to me and I didn't mind the extra time. He was very concerned about how I felt of the positioning and told me we can always redo it. I just want to make sure you are happy and satisfied. There was a time when I questioned him during the session and he politely said let me worry about that. Basically that was his way of telling me to shut up which I couldn't agree with him more so I kept quite which I am glad I did. The last touch up session Shay was very detailed and made sure all fading was done and he went over the tattoo. What I thought was going to be a 30 minute session turned out to be a 2 hour touch up session. He made sure to point out all the spots that needed touch up. I am so grateful to Shay for his talent and the work that he performed. If you decide to go with Shay let him offer you his input and knowledge. Shay is a very down to earth person. Shay is very easy to work with. He explains the procedure before he starts and shows you all the new needles in the packages prior to him starting the work. Shay at the end takes the time to explain to you the aftercare of the tattoo. My aftercare was time consuming however not a single complication. 100% healing. Shay Thank you again! P.S. My husband and I have been coming to this shop for a couple of years now. Combined we have gotten 4 tattoos from Jhon, Brandon and Tasi. All three having done an incredible job! Every time they are super friendly, professional and patient. There can be a bit of a wait for actually getting the tattoo but their work speaks for itself, is always amazing and 100% worth it! When I got my tattoo of Death from Harry Potter, I was having trouble getting the image down but Brandon was so so helpful and designed an amazing tattoo for me that get compliments on constantly. My husband went to Jhon for his first tattoo, Brandon for his second and Tasi for his third and each time has been so happy he's ready for another tattoo the next day. First off, I'm writing this review from the point-of-view of someone who just had their first tattoo done. I can't rate Outer Limits based on how they compare to other shops but I can rate them based on my experience with business, people and other artists. I originally went onto Yelp and searched for a tattoo shop that was close to my work and that had decent reviews. Outer Limits met both of those requirements. My first visit was to bring in the art work I wanted on my wrist and to see if some scars had healed enough to be tattooed over. The girl at the front desk was cool and gave me a rough idea of what the tattoo would cost in labor but said she wanted to schedule a consultation with Yvonne since she was the B&W artist. I set up the consultation and went back to work. My second visit was for the consult with Yvonne. Yvonne looked at the art, my wrist and the scars and said we were good to go then gave me a quote. But it wasn't all business, we talked for several minutes about the scars and why I wanted the tattoo. I really appreciated that Yvonne wasn't just about getting the work. She seemed to enjoy connecting with another human being. After the consult I put a $100 deposit down and made an appointment to come back in a few days for actual work. Today was my third visit and the day I got my tattoo. Originally Yvonne had quoted me that the tattoo would take between 1 and 1.5 hours. It ended up taking a little over two hours. The awesome thing was that I didn't even know it had been two hours. Yvonne and I were talking the whole time about ourselves and personal experiences. She is a genuinely sweet and caring person and I can't be more happy that, by chance, I walked into the tattoo shop where she worked and she was the artist for my first tattoo. 20 years ago, I got my first tattoo at Outer Limits. After a long hiatus, I decided to add more. While I'm certain there are shops and artists in SoCal that would have been suitable, I have complete trust in Kari Barba and Outer Limits Tattoo. There was no question in my mind on where to go. The Long Beach location is an impeccably clean and historically interesting set up. The entire crew of artists do phenomenal tattoos, the assistants are friendly and welcoming, and the shop atmosphere is genuinely comfortable. Recently got my 2nd tattoo here and was pleased with the experience. I went in and made an appointment, I didn't have a particular artist in mind because I knew exactly what I wanted, like I had it drawn out on stencil paper myself and just needed them to stick it on and fill it in. Anyhow, made my appointment, put down a deposit and waited. Showed up on my appointment day only to find out my scheduled artist had gone home sick AND they'd had a computer malfunction and couldn't access the days appointments to call me to cancel. Wasted 140000 quarters in the meter and had to reschedule for the next week. It wasn't a super big deal, but it was kind of a let down, I get that these things happen, but I had to ding em a star for it. A week later, I make it in for my real appointment. This time I park in the structure mostly because I'm out of quarters. Check in, fill out the paperwork, Laura has the stencils made and starts to lay them out. I make some adjustments, we move stuff around and when I'm satisfied, we start. An hour later, we're done and I'm happy. Tattoo looks great and I'm satisfied. I really like the atmosphere here, it's SUPER clean and all of the tattoo artists are very friendly. They are just as friendly whether you're getting a teeny tiny tattoo on your wrist that no one will ever see, or a full sleeve. I've never gotten the too cool for you vibe from this place, whereas I've been to tattoo shops where the artists act like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to pay them for a service. A friend and I decided we wanted to get our second set of matching tattoos, it had been planned for a year, but we never had the opportunity so when the situation presented itself we we're dead set getting them done. After searching for tattoo parlors that had time for walk-ins we stumbled on The Outer Limits Long Beach location. Clean establishment, relaxing atmosphere, and great help from Laura Billets and Billy. Who ended up doing our tattoos in a boys vs. girls style. Friendly conversations from both and it made the experience much more enjoyable. I'd definitely be back for more. read more

i've gotten 3 of my tattoos here, but i won't be coming back anymore 1] i won't mention his name, but i got 2 of my tattoos from one person, and i really wanted him to be my go-to-ink artist, but he didn't even remember me or the work he did, WTF?! that's just sad, i really wanted to feel special, but i guess not 2] prices are on the higher end, but that doesn't matter to me as much as the service, i'm really annoyed with the service. yes they are clean, but not professional, they are very distracted with the conversations they have going with their fellow artists/phone calls/ordering food/etc. etc. if i'm going to spend $150/hour, i don't want you being distracted and spending a good 20mins elsewhere. 3] parking is shit, you have to park in the structure, and they Don't validate here, you have to walk your ass to a candy store/ Borders to get validation, ugh, buy a freaking stamp and validate your customers esp when they spend hundreds and hundreds of ink. read more

Nothing but good reviews for Outer Limits. I've had three tattoos done with them and they all look fantastic. I got two of them done at the old location in Anaheim. One was done by Yvonne, who works at the Long Beach location now, and the other was done by Chris I think. I forget his name, it was a few years ago. Anyway they were both fantastic, professional, and the work came out great. I recently came in for a third tattoo. Nothing big, just roman numerals on my inner ankle. I came in ready to get a tattoo that day, and I was able to get taken a few hours later. Perfect! Zac did my tattoo and it was simple and easy. It was pretty small and just black so it only took about ten minutes. The shop's hourly rate is $150 which is a little pricey, but I've always believed that with tattoos you get what you pay for. If you're getting something on your body for the rest of your life, you might as well pay more for something that is done well instead of having your friend's uncle's buddy do it for 50 bucks. Reference a review before me in regards to a bad experience, I too had an awful experience here. I showed up for my appointment excited to see the artwork. Everything was great at the consultation but it wasn't until after I left the shop that it all went downhill. I couldn't get a hold of my artist. I called the shop and sent emails numerous of times. No response . So now I'm out money and still can't a hold of anyone. I would t recommend this shop to anyone read more

I did a lot of research before getting my first tattoo and finally decided on this place. One, it's probably got the most history/character of any tattoo shop out there... and two, Shay. During my research I came across the artwork of Shay Bredimus and it's actually what led me to Outer Limits. He is trained as a fine artist and represented by a gallery in west LA. I was really impressed by the style of his artwork and I loved the idea of a tattoo artist with roots in fine art. The tattoo I wanted done was an intricate piece of artwork done by a friend of mine. It had a lot of spiritual significance and wasn't exactly an easy piece to get right. I wanted somebody who would 'get' the meaning behind the work and collaborate with me to adapt it tattoo form. I walked in and had a chance to show Shay the artwork. Good vibes right away. He was super stoked about working on it and I felt like he understood the vision I had for the piece. Aside from some challenges in setting up that first appointment (I recommend just walking in and setting it up) - everything went great. The piece turned out amazing - and I absolutely love it. I had a short time period in which to get in done (leaving Cali) - but Shay made it happen. He also put his own personal touch on the tattoo and adapted the face (the tattoo is of a spiritual warrior) to make it look more like a warrior of light (I was concerned it might look too 'dark'). Brother did an amazing job. Shay is a gem of an artist and the type of guy who makes five hours of pain an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend getting your tattoo done with him! read more

Some months ago I finally made the choice to get an old tattoo covered up and improved upon. Years ago I had known someone who had work done at the Outer Limits in Anaheim and loved their art, then Kari set up shop locally. A few friends had recommended I go there, but for a while I was apprehensive because I had heard the wait for Kari was forever, not to mention what the cost might be. I was also apprehensive because the work I was planning to get was personally important on a lot of levels and I wanted an artist who would work with me and not make me feel stupid when I walked in. On top of that, as a girl, I've found the male staff pleasant and polite, as well as extremely professional. Of the people I've interacted with that rock: Brian, Justin, Kevin, Trevor, Tiffany, and two more who's names escape me. Piercer's are cool even if you're not getting pierced. So one day after work I walked on in to the shop where I spoke to this really nice guy about what I had in mind. He asked me if I had an artist in mind and I told him "not really." It was great because he encouraged me to take my time, sit and look through the books of all the artists' books to make a decision. I strolled through all of them, liked Kari's and one other artist a lot. After another review of the two books, I decided to go with Brian Ragusin, who happened to be the guy I initially spoke with. I really liked his style and felt that he could best capture exactly what I wanted. We took some time talking together to get a clear understanding of what I wanted. He invited me behind the counter, spoke really casually with me, offered feedback and suggestions and overall made me feel very welcomed to the shop. I was a little worried about getting my sketch when I didn't hear from him for over a month and had already, eagerly, put down my $100 deposit. Finally the call came and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what he came up with. It was (is) perfect. It had all the elements I wanted and more. I am currently in the process of working on this very tattoo and have been pleased both sessions. Everyone in the shop is professional, approachable and friendly. During the first session, Brian even let me play my own IPod since the shop was pretty empty. Despite the desolation there on a Monday night, he has always put screens up to ensure my privacy while the work is being done. Last I knew they were working to get wi-fi for people to be able to use their computers... which comes in handy for that friend you ask to sit with you while you whine and moan. The shop is VERY clean and really nicely decorated. I've been tattooed by three other artists at two different shops when I was much younger. Back then I didn't know what the process was like, what I wanted or how to look for it. All I knew was that I was intimidated, but not at Outer Limits. Make sure you have a clear understanding that the artists here are good and so, yeah, you're going to pay some high prices. It's all worth it to become a walking canvas though. Beware of the crappy parking situation. All the surrounding streets are metered until 9pm or there is structured parking which can be expensive and doesn't close down until 12pm. I've paid $12 both times for about 3-4 hours in the parking structure, so I would say head there and then move your car to the meters after 9pm. The shop doesn't offer validation because they aren't recognized as part of the the Pike downtown... but that's a whole other story in its' self. read more

Been to this shop many times over the last 2 or so years, almost 40 hours of work between my left arm and leg. Been going to Kari exclusively so far but everyone in the shop are amazing artists in their own right. Everyone is very welcoming. Very clean environment. There's also a nice parking lot nearby, $5 all day. Kari is great to talk to, even during tattooing, very honest. I've had a couple instances when my skin had an unusual reaction (nothing to do with her, my skin just reacted weird). She could've kept going, make the money. But she stopped. Recommend I heal first. I have a lot of trust in the shop overall. Kari already knows I'll be back. Her work is amazing. Highly recommend this place. \m/ read more

Review of Piercing Services Only... Last June, my brother and I came here to get matching septum piercings. We even got the exact same retainer. My experience getting pierced here was fantastic. John Johnson was extremely professional. I felt totally safe in his care! He was COOL, CALM, and COMFORTING! He even had me smell some lavendar to calm my nerves. I was totally satisfied with my experience. Prices are reasonable too and they have a fair selection of jewelry. read more
