My friend was visiting from New York, and we had planned to get tattoos together while he was here. Of course, it ended up being the night before his flight, and we still hadn't done it. A quick Google search led us to The Beast Studio, which was open for a few more hours, so we decided to head over. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The owner, Jake, was especially helpful. He showed us all the flash options, handed us portfolios to browse through, and even offered to call in an artist if the one we wanted wasn't there, as they lived nearby. We ended up getting tattooed by Angel, who gave us exactly what we wanted and stayed late to make sure we both got our tattoos that night. It was my first professional tattoo, so I was definitely nervous, but Angel took the time to explain everything, and made the experience super comfortable. I had checked out their website and liked all of the artists' work, so I inquired through there. No one got back, so I'm thinking their not receiving it. I decided to call, and Angel picked up. We ended up texting about what I wanted and set up an appointment. When I got there, the place was clean and nicely set up. Everybody in there was welcoming, and I most of my tattoo finished in a day. Angel made sure I was good the whole process and took breaks to see if I liked the work so far. Pricing is fair. Everybody has their own pricing, but they all have a set rate and don't go by the hour, which is better. I wish there was a card reader, but there's an ATM inside in case you need cash. I drove down from San Diego to get my first tattoo done by Angel, my sister and I showed up a few minutes early and Angel right away put on a movie for us and told us to make ourselves comfortable, not only was he professional and knowledgeable in his line of work, he was detailed and efficient. I sat for a good 8 hours (first session/line work) and every so often he would ask how I was doing and if I needed anything. The studio had air conditioning and everyone including Angel made the entire experience amazing. I couldn't ask for a better tattoo artist. I wasn't going to get anymore tattoos but with such an amazing experience I had and the quality of Angels work I've already booked my next appointment. Angel was my artist and he was fantastic! Laid back attitude that makes it easy to feel comfortable. He also made sure I was comfortable throughout the session. You can tell he takes pride in his work and pays attention to details. Although he does go at a slower pace, his rates are very reasonable. I booked a session (he generally books full days only) for a discounted price of $450 which was great. I'll need at least another session to finish this piece but considering it's a pretty large (and detailed) forearm piece, I'm definitely happy with both the work and the price. read more
