Huge shoutout to The Alf @ Alf's Body Art Studio Got my Maggie Simpson piece done and I'm blown away! Colors are popping, details are crazy, and it turned out even better than I imagined. I trusted his vision and he killed it. His communication from start to finish and during the healing prosses was so healpful. The whole crew there is super welcoming and made it such a good vibe. Excited for my next session!!
I booked an appointment with Alf via Instagram to get a fine line tattoo filled in with color and had a great experience. From walking in to getting to know the artists there, truly a great experience. Alf was such a cool dude, friendly, and a great artist. He nailed my tattoo and I love it even better now that it's colored in!! Also all of the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back for my next tattoo in the near future!
My niece and I went to get matching tattoos. Bone's work, as you can see from the photos, is absolutely beautiful. She is talented and very good at what she does. Alf did the artwork on my niece's arm, and it too is perfect. We are very happy with our tattoos and the service we received. The vibe in the studio is uplifting and accommodating. We had great conversations and left happy.
Walked in and was seen right away. Quick painless service. Clean and knowledge. Friendly staff. Cute nose ring choices. 10/10 recommend. There is parking on the street metered.
I have been going to Alf's studio for over a year working with Courtney on various tattoo projects - I am so honored to continue working with such an amazing, kind, and professional tattoo artist who has such a passion for all her projects - whether her own design or bringing one of the designs in my head to life!!! I get many compliments on the work she has done and recommend EVERYONE to her!! I have also been pierced by Alf who was very gentle, professional, and fast! This shop overall is such a "hidden gem" of 2nd street - even though Courtney is my "main artist"/ all of the other tattoo artists are extremely welcoming and kind! I always have a great experience going in :)

Yee Claw baby! I'm new to Long Beach, I've moved from out of state and have been here a year. I've spend a year searching for the perfect local artist, these guys are far from perfect. THEY ARE SENSATIONAL!!! I got tattoo'd by Alf on Friday the 13th, and I am BEYOND impressed. Typically shops are over crowded and overly busy, of course they were busy but not crowded. The shop was so clean you could eat off the floor. I've never felt so welcomed and comfortable walking into a shop. Everyone i interacted with was so kind, helpful and nice! This isn't your typical customer service, every single person treated you like an individual (not just a customer) they were so patient regardless of how busy they were. My tattoos are now healed and PERFECT! Lines are clean and crisp. Healed quick and were exactly what I wanted. I can't wait to get them colored! Alf was so nice! He was quick, professional and everything he needed to tattoo me was new and clean. Just an absolute professional! Alf's Body Art Studio is setting the standard in body art studios. SENSATIONAL!

I understand that this is a finger tattoo making it difficult, but of all 13 of my tattoos this is the least clean. Still in the healing stages so hopefully the lines are cleaner & thinner post healing. Looks like a great artist for cartoon style tattoos.

I was looking to get my first tattoo and had reached out to 15+ artist to see what would be the best fit based of a few things and Alf's was the one I ended up choosing and I'm so happy I did. From the start of our conversation on here, Alf was responsive, honest and helpful. I voiced my concern on how it'll be my first and he helped me through the design, the size and helping me feel comfortable when we first started. He lightened the experience by telling me stories, his experiences, and gave me the comfortability of making sure I wasn't in pain while checking up on me during the experience. Came in as a walk-in to get a price quote the price was too good to pass up! Alf was there and did my tattoo took about a hour and I love it! Im really glad I found this tattoo shop around my neighborhood. I was looking for a tattoo shop that specializes in traditional/color heavy designs and I stumble upon this shop. They respond pretty quickly to my inquiry and worked with my budget without compromising the design I gave them. My artist, Alf, was so easy to work and get along with. He gave me some ideas and suggestions without being too pushy nor difficult. After my consultation with him he got me booked for my first session. When I got there, Alf made the preparations right away. He was pretty fast with the outline, but he wasn't rushing whatsoever. Can't wait for the next one and have this one finished. Keep forgetting to write this but yeah. I love my tattoos from Alf! I got 2 wrist tattoos as my first tattoos. Alf was a sweetheart and his shop was super clean. Honestly the tattoos didn't even hurt me at all and I just kind of sat there like it was a massage lol. Can't say everyone will have the same pain tolerance as I but I found it enjoyable. The price was very reasonable and he was able to book me the next day before I headed back to Texas! I highly recommend going to see Alf, he's just awesome! read more
