I booked an appointment with Alf via Instagram to get a fine line tattoo filled in with color and had a great experience. From walking in to getting to know the artists there, truly a great experience. Alf was such a cool dude, friendly, and a great artist. He nailed my tattoo and I love it even better now that it's colored in!! Also all of the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back for my next tattoo in the near future!

My niece and I went to get matching tattoos. Bone's work, as you can see from the photos, is absolutely beautiful. She is talented and very good at what she does. Alf did the artwork on my niece's arm, and it too is perfect. We are very happy with our tattoos and the service we received. The vibe in the studio is uplifting and accommodating. Yee Claw baby! I'm new to Long Beach, I've moved from out of state and have been here a year. I've spend a year searching for the perfect local artist, these guys are far from perfect. THEY ARE SENSATIONAL!!! I got tattoo'd by Alf on Friday the 13th, and I am BEYOND impressed. Typically shops are over crowded and overly busy, of course they were busy but not crowded. The shop was so clean you could eat off the floor. I've never felt so welcomed and comfortable walking into a shop. Everyone i interacted with was so kind, helpful and nice! This isn't your typical customer service, every single person treated you like an individual (not just a customer) they were so patient regardless of how busy they were. My tattoos are now healed and PERFECT! Lines are clean and crisp. Healed quick and were exactly what I wanted. I can't wait to get them colored! Alf was so nice! He was quick, professional and everything he needed to tattoo me was new and clean. Just an absolute professional! Alf's Body Art Studio is setting the standard in body art studios. SENSATIONAL!

Dropped in without and appointment & Alf was nice enough work with me. However, I chose a very simple tattoo & the execution just wasn't there. The lines are incomplete & thick. I understand that this is a finger tattoo making it difficult, but of all 13 of my tattoos this is the least clean. Still in the healing stages so hopefully the lines are cleaner & thinner post healing. Looks like a great artist for cartoon style tattoos.

Yee Claw baby! I'm new to Long Beach, I've moved from out of state and have been here a year. I've spend a year searching for the perfect local artist, these guys are far from perfect. THEY ARE SENSATIONAL!!! I got tattoo'd by Alf on Friday the 13th, and I am BEYOND impressed. Typically shops are over crowded and overly busy, of course they were busy but not crowded. This is a low key small tattoo shop but it is definitely my favorite. First off, they were so reasonable in prices compared to a dozen other shops I got quotes. The quality of my tattoos were as good if not better than the older ones I have from World Famous tattoo artist in the past. The place was so chill and relaxing. I got 2 tattoos done perfectly while I watched season one of Narcos on Netflix on their wall mounted tv. I will definitely come back for another tattoo at this shop, since the is my favorite tattoo shop now. I can honestly recommend them to anyone that wants a positive experience. Alf is awesome. This was the best experience ! I was so scared to get my navel pierced but Alfredo made it all a smooth ride. He was informative and told me exactly what he was going to do and he showed me the new needle he was going to use. He took his time finding the correct spot to pierce too. Overall if you want your belly pierced do it here ! Didn't even hurt like I thought it would I'm happy with my new piercing ! Thank you so much !! Went to their Friday the 13th flash sale like warm experience. I understand the hectic-ness of the day but I didn't really feel welcomed and the vibe felt off. Owner was decent however the artist (older blonde lady) that did my tattoo was a little rude, dismissive, and used a condescending tone when speaking directly and indirectly with me if at all. I felt ignored my entire appointment and the tattoo was done with minimal effort in my opinion. Unfortunately due to that I will not be returning or recommending this shop. read more

Im really glad I found this tattoo shop around my neighborhood. I was looking for a tattoo shop that specializes in traditional/color heavy designs and I stumble upon this shop. They respond pretty quickly to my inquiry and worked with my budget without compromising the design I gave them. My artist, Alf, was so easy to work and get along with. He gave me some ideas and suggestions without being too pushy nor difficult. After my consultation with him he got me booked for my first session. When I got there, Alf made the preparations right away. He was pretty fast with the outline, but he wasn't rushing whatsoever. Can't wait for the next one and have this one finished. Keep forgetting to write this but yeah. I love my tattoos from Alf! I got 2 wrist tattoos as my first tattoos. Alf was a sweetheart and his shop was super clean. Honestly the tattoos didn't even hurt me at all and I just kind of sat there like it was a massage lol. Can't say everyone will have the same pain tolerance as I but I found it enjoyable. The price was very reasonable and he was able to book me the next day before I headed back to Texas! I highly recommend going to see Alf, he's just awesome! read more

The prices were reasonable and the owner was professional. It was painless getting my lobes pierced for me, the piercing itself was done correctly and quickly. I would recommend this art studio because of the great quality of service at reasonable prices, accommodating to the customer as well! Worst place ever literally passed out as I was getting a noise piercing my 5th time getting one so I know how it feels and goes first sigh was not even cleaning my noise before , said 60 for 2 couldn't do 2 bc I passed out for a while and he didn't do anything to help Until my bf stepped in and had to tell him that's not right worst place ever charged me 40 when it should be 30 even after I passed out bc he left the needle in my noise for way to long ... Worsst plave ever by far not even a sorry for was charged the right price never again.. read more

Alf ensures the highest level of sterility before, during & after appointments, to keep everyone healthy & safe. Having a rich art background, he applies his steady hand & knowledge of art principles to each design to create customized body art to cherish and be proud of for life. We have 4 female tattoo artists, and 2 male. We offer a variety of styles: from color, Japanese, black and grey, fine line, whimsical, and traditional styles.

Meet the Business Owner: Alfredo C.

Alf knew early on that his attention was pulled on by drawing, as every teacher would harshly remind him of as he endlessly doodled in his notebook during class. A product of the 80's, he found himself sketching pop icons like Bart Simpson, Super Mario & the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As a lover of skateboarding & BMX culture, he would ride with friends while listening to Guns N' Roses in his walkman. By 17 years old, he followed in the footsteps of some friends & got his first tattoo, a small gecko. He became a regular tattoo client of Gerard Kuninski(Austria). He decided to pursue tattooing full time. He learned in real life, through constant seminars & while going to tattoo expos throughout the U.S., Canada & Mexico. He was traveling when he met his future wife in Los Angeles in 2016. He quickly moved to the U.S., living in Glendale, California before settling in Orange County after the birth of his son in 2018. He's so proud to debut Alf's Body Art Studio in Anaheim, CA.

Bad experience with Jack Mauk. Gave a deposit for the first tattoo, a geisha with a dragon that takes up the entire outside of my thigh from knee to hip. Ended up being exceptionally cheap for how big the tattoo was and how long it took him to complete. During the tattoo he made kisses towards the vagina on the geisha that he was tattooing. Pretty weird and red flag. Second tattoo, no deposit required for some reason, but he charged me double the amount of the first tattoo for a much smaller and wayyy less detailed tattoo on my calf. I guess not responding to the kissing towards the tattoo or being receptive in general to his weird vibe caused a pricing change for the second tattoo. When called out on the pricing changes and cringy "flirting" he told me I was not welcome back to the shop. At first I was really upset by his treatment, especially because I wanted to return to see Damien for another tattoo, and was going to contact Tom, the owner. But I have found better artists at shops like Classic Fullerton and Roseland Tattoo that would never dream of treating a client the way Jack treated me. Not the smartest business move and just all around weiiiirrdd.

I was warmly greeted by one of the tattoo artists and she allowed me to visit with my friend. I only stayed 30 min and my friend sent me a pic of her tattoo and the artist did amazing work! I believe my friend said she was there from noon til the time she sent me the pic which was around 6pm (of course with breaks).

He joked around about it when I scheduled, and made it so much more lighthearted because I was stressed. Then when he did the procedure, he made sure to ask what I could tolerate, even when he put the tape on. That dermal was in there too, had been in for 13 years... took David all of six seconds to get it out and he made it seem easy. Needless to say, he's the only person our family goes to for tattoo and piercing services now. We've also met the owner and today we met a beautiful female artist with red locks that also works there, and I've been to lots of shops in my life and this shop is by far my favorite vibe. I started to notice a bad reaction the day after I got tattooed (3/9/26) and reached out to Jen on Instagram for some advice. She messaged me back a week later on 3/16/26, by that time I had already gone to urgent care and the er. I was prescribed 2 kinds of strong antibiotics due to a skin infection. I have several other tattoos and have never had any issues healing. I was thinking maybe I had some kind of bad reaction to the ink or derm sheild so I asked Jen about the brand/type of ink and derm sheild so I don't use in the future but she never responded to me. I reached out on 3/23, 3/31, and 4/7. I'm not sure why she just ignored my messages but I'm very disappointed, I never once blamed her or anything, I just would have appreciated a response.

I got my nipples pierced on their Friday the 13th promo. I had been debating whether on getting them or not due to the pain but the piercings both were so easy and honestly not bad at all. I feel like my cartilage piercings have hurt more than these. It's only been a few weeks and the healing process is going well!
