This is the second time that I've been to the tattoo and piercing shop; the first time I went with a friend and also came in for a repiercing due to a hospitalization. I'm hoping this will be the last time that I go to this shop for a repiercing, but I will definitely come back here if I have to. Joslyn was extremely professional and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time during the piercing process by double checking that it didn't hurt. I had to purchase one of their steel titanium jewelry ($15 was the cheapest one) and was not allowed to use my own jewelry that I bought from Laughing Buddha. Which is totally understandable and makes sense as to why they don't use other jewelry outside of their own. I think it also specifies in their rules or contract that you're not allowed to bring in outside jewelry, but I would call to make sure. I also did not like that they didn't have a more comfortable waiting/seating area. Those tiny chairs on wheels are not really plus-sized friendly and I would have appreciated a regular chair instead of those. The online booking experience for an appointment within 3 days was easy to use on their website. I believe there was a $5 security deposit that goes into your overall total at the end of your piercing/tattoo session. In fact, my piercer Joslyn even emailed me to ask questions about my piercing history and whatnot. I really appreciated her attentiveness to detail and for taking the initiative to understand her customer's needs. Overall, I had a pleasant experience with my piercer Joslyn and would highly recommend her for your piercing needs. Thanks again!!

Even though I didn't have an appointment, I never felt rushed. I explained what I wanted verbally, and he immediately sketched up a design that was exactly what I had in mind. From start to finish, I was tattooed in less than an hour. It's been a few weeks now, and it has healed beautifully. I went back for a second tattoo, a small rib piece. I had sent him the font I liked beforehand, and when I got there, he whipped up a few size suggestions to help me choose what looked best. He took the time to make sure everything was spelled correctly and placed exactly the way I wanted before we started. Both experiences have been fantastic. Each artists has their own style and they will direct you to the right person for what you want. Each artist is welcoming, makes sure you're comfortable, and includes you in the conversation. Austin has been working on a full leg sleeve and he has really gone above and beyond with each piece of the sleeve and I'm so excited to see it finished. Everything is fantasy, metal, alien all with a comic book feel. My little brother has a few tattoos by Andrew and only has the very best things to say, plus his tattoos and the line work look SO so good... so when my sister and I recently visited said brother in Long Beach, we had to put Retro Row Ink on the agenda. This tattoo shop is one big open room with maybe 8-10 artist-stations throughout. Everything is super clean, colorful, and welcoming, and of course there's tons of beautiful artwork by the resident tattoo artists across the walls. You gotta browse and enjoy all the different talent! My sister got a couple small tattoos, some script and then her daughters' initials worked into a tattoo she already has. Andrew sent us a link to a website where we could search and select fonts, but if you need ideas your tattoo artist will definitely have them! I like the idea of tiny tattoos on my hands/fingers, just one tiny step at a time, hahah. I decided to get a single teensy star, which I now call the North star. It looks like a classic, Christmassy twinkle star... or what a single light looks like in the dark when you have an astigmatism, ha.
