Amazing studio! Looking at all the artists online, they're all extremely talented. The studio is open for appointment only, which I really appreciate in these COVID times. It's also decorated pretty well. Jade caught my eye with her art and I have waited for her to open her books so I could get one from her. Although I would love a tattoo from everyone there. Being a huge Harry Potter fan, I love how she brought my idea to life! The entire time she kept making sure I was comfortable and spent it talking about Disney and Harry Potter. Overall it was very enjoyable and I will definitely be back for more! read more

I follow Jade Q. on Instagram...the artist I chose, the other artists present, as well as the vibe of the space, were ALL great and comfortable. All elements together put me at ease. I loved my experience at Breakwater and I say aye to all the great reviews posted prior to mine. I am ultimately grateful and will be back! read more

Breakwater Tattoo - Koi line work and sharing came out so good and Justin was super fast - Tattoo Near Me - Long Beach, California

Absolutely the best experience I've ever had, hands down! I went in for an appointment with Chelsea to get matching tattoos with my niece. From the moment we walked in to the minute we left it was great. It was clean, bright, and comfortable. As for my tattoo, It is slightly smaller than my hand and in color. It has been almost a week and healing is going perfectly. I love how it turned out (we both do!) and could not be more pleased. We also looked through the books of the other artists there and their work is also amazing! Highly recommend Breakwater and I will absolutely be back. read more

Justin Tauch has been tattooing me for over 5 years now. When he opened Breakwater, I was beyond excited for him and the amazing collection of artists he has working out of the shop. All artists there are kind welcoming and helpful. The environment in the shop is relaxing and comfortable. All tattoo stations are clean and well prepared. The artists are mindful of the needs of their clients. The appointment only aspect of the shop is a big bonus for me. It creates a wonderful environment to get custom artwork done. You never feel rushed or uncomfortable here. read more

Had my eye on Justin's art for a long time before I decided to book with him (so freaking glad that I did) he took my vague collection of ideas and turned them into the most beautiful piece of art! The tattoo itself was 3 sessions and totally worth every moment and dollar! Most importantly the art styles of the artists at Breakwater are so unique and amazing! But they are all so kind and fun to interact with as well! 1000% recommend!! read more

It was a pleasure getting to know the guys and girls at Breakwater Tatto. They are all professional and are at the top of their game when it comes to creating beautiful pieces of art!! I got to work with Justin for over a year on my underwater scene, and I enjoyed every second of the experience. It was always a pleasure to talk with Justin through our sessions. And the atmosphere at Breakwater is awesome. Great artwork and always an amazing Playlist to listen to. I recommend that anybody looking to get work done, even if you're not from Long Beach, come to Breakwater. It's worth the travel. You will not be disappointed!!! Thanks Justin! I can't wait to get started on our next piece. read more

Absolutely LOVE this shop!! This is an extremely over due review but I need to share my happiness as I will always come back for more!! I had a piece done from Justin and followed him to this location when he first opened his shop I was taken away by how breathtakingly beautiful and detailed it was! Every visit there was always a fun and enjoyable experience that felt both personable and welcoming. The other artists all make you feel extremely welcomed and are super friendly too, and everyone's portfolio is absolutely gorgeous. Both pieces I have are some of favorites and I always get stopped and asked about them. The prices are absolutely worth it, and I would recommend Justin and his team to anyone! read more

I've been tattooed by Justin at three different shops now, and I have to say nothing tops my experience at Breakwater. They make it easy to make an appointment and be seen, communicate clearly, and most importantly crank out amazing pieces that go above and beyond what you expect. Justin made the process enjoyable, just be being his funny laid back self while doing what he clearly loves, and its cool to see him surround himself with other skilled artists who share that quality. Not to mention the place is visually stunning... Still can't get over that dope logo. Seriously, If you're looking for a new tattoo you'll be proud to show off you'll get it here. Bring some examples in and let him do the rest, you won't be disappointed! read more

Breakwater Tattoo - I know I'm biased but just look at this masterpiece, damn Gina - Tattoo Near Me - Long Beach, California

Breakwater is a totally zen place to get a tattoo. It's immaculately clean, comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful. Justin Tauch, the owner and operator is an incredibly talented artist and his aesthetic and vision is embodied in his shop. This is an appointment only shop. If you've got an idea and a vision for the ink you want done, it's great. They don't do walk ins so you have to, or maybe get to, put some thought and planning into the piece and the results of that thought and planning process is clear in the results. Justin is a really cool guy and was super easy to talk with and hang out with during some very long sessions. He's an artist and a professional and was just phenomenal to work with. read more

Beautiful hidden gem in Bixby Knolls with very talented artists! I had two small tattoos done by Namoi and it was a very pleasant experience. I am not representative of their usual customers and yet them made me feel very welcome. (Meaning I'm older and not into the elaborate tattoos most folks were getting.) The artwork in the studio is gorgeous and the atmosphere is relaxing. For whatever reason the photo of my tattoos will not upload. read more

Breakwater's artist Tan Vo has given me 13 tattoos so far and I honestly look at the work everyday and smile. Tan and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and also 100% professional when it comes to talking designs, after care, and in-studio hygiene. I can 100% recommend Tan as well as every other artist in the studio! read more

Holy crap. This shop is incredible. Every artist tattooing here has incredible attention to detail, unique styles, and gives an incredible experience. I have worked with Justin so far, and his work is top notch. I've now got plans to take one of his designs I recently received and turn it into a half sleeve. I can't wait to get more done by him, and to visit some of the other incredible artists tattooing here. read more

This shop is amazing to put it mildly. All of the artists are so talented and so kind. I had the honor and pleasure of working with Justin Tauch. He did my back piece to honor my mom who passed away and he took what I wanted and elevated it to a creative level I could never of dreamed of. I am not ashamed to say that I cried with joy once I saw the completed piece. He is so talented, funny and genuine person ... the hours flew by. I can't recommend this shop and Justin enough. read more

Breakwater is very clean and inviting. Justin took his time with my first color tattoo and really took the time to make this amazing Baby Yoda Tattoo. I am so in love with it. I would highly recommend this studio! read more

Justin hooked me up with a sweet design that I absolutely loved. 2 sessions and about 6 hours later I have tattoo that is better than I was hoping for. Justin made sure I was doing ok throughout the whole process, kept my blood sugar high when I needed it. The Studio is pristine and comfortable, never once did I have second thoughts about this permanent addition to my body! Highly recommend! read more

I have gotten several tattoos from Justin in the past several years at different shops before he opened Breakwater and by far love the vibe of Breakwater the most. Not that all the other shops weren't great, but Breakwater has such a wonderful chill and relaxing vibe to it that I have not seen elsewhere. It's clear that he put his own spirit and passion into the studio and it shows that being in your own zen makes you even more of an amazing artist. The shop is also super clean and I love the very open layout they have set up. The shop is by request only which I personally like a lot. I feel like it helps cut down the distractions (for both the client and the artist) of random people coming in and out possibly wanting a tattoo. Now for Justin and his work. Having had tattoos from Justin from the time he started to now, it is incredible to see how much he has grown as and artist and person. I have loved every tattoo I have gotten from him in the past but my last one I got at Breakwater was just incredible and flawless. He really listens to what you want and he goes the extra mile with the details you might not even think about. For example my red panda he thought before I did to use flowers from the himalayans instead of using whatever kind of other flowers that were not native to their habitat. It was a very nice touch that I am not sure others would have thought about. During the whole process he is super easy to talk to and he's always cracking jokes. It makes the process so much more comfortable and relaxing to be a part of. Any time I am out and my tattoos are showing I get compliments left and right. He clearly loves what he does and it really shows. I have recommended Justin to so many people and will continue to do so because anyone would be proud to show his work for life. I attached two photos, one being my most recent piece(red panda) and the other of my two calf pieces both done by Justin. My pet memorial piece was also a huge highlight because he made it a more than perfect way to honor my best friend and he clearly knew how important it was to me and was willing to fix tiny details for me no problem. read more

Let me just start by saying that Justin at Breakwater Tattoo is one of the coolest and most down to earth people I've met- he is an AWESOME artist! He's a triple threat with his tattooing skill, fantastic artwork/composition, and super professional demeanor. I've been tattooed by him a few times now, and while each visit has been better than the last nothing tops being at Breakwater Tattoo! If you want someone who is able to beautifully turn a simple idea into a piece made to fit your body perfectly or even just a super cool and unique flash you'll definitely want to get a consult with him! The studio is spotless and so welcoming that you feel right at home as everyone is always so excited that you're getting work done here- even if it's not by them (talking about you, Tan! You rock too!) as someone who takes the trip from NJ to CA nearly every year, I cannot recommend this shop highly enough!! read more
