I tried booking an appointment twice and was told to message the same number I called and still to no avail did I ever receive a response back. I checked the hours to make sure I contacted at the right time and even waited 2 days before attempting to contact the second time. Was looking forward to booking due to the overwhelming amount of positive reviews I saw but was disappointed to get such poor service and communication. I came to yelp to find a tattoo guy who would give me a small heart on my shoulder area and when I came across Jacob I was surprised by the reviews and his 5 star rating! I'm visiting from Seattle so tattoos over there are a bit expensive for something small. When he told me about pricing, I thought it was very affordable, then I thought about getting a second one done. So I saw the bouquet of flowers and I sent it over to Jacob and asked if I could have it done too. He said he could and even told me to come earlier than our original appointment time. When I went to his place, my boyfriend and sister sat on his couch, another plus because most places won't let you bring anyone in except people getting tatted. It was nice having my support there since it was my first tattoo. He showed me the bouquet of flowers that he designed because all I said was, "something similar, dainty and small" so he told me no one else is gonna have some thing as me. Which I LOVED! He is very warm, welcoming, and super down to earth (what more can you ask for from some one putting something permanently on your body). He's a very "don't be shy ask!" He works in his own sterile & organized space, in a house, which I enjoyed. It creates a more relaxed environment. With Netflix going & some nice chit chat, kinda ends up feeling like you're getting tattooed by one of your good homies. He knows what he's doing & I really appreciated his ability to understand what I wanted out of the tattoos & then able to freehand it on me first to better flow with the natural contours of my body. My gf wanted a tattoo but was very indecisive about the location and the overall layout, so we started with a concept and with Jacob's patient help pieced together a beautiful tree that represented her closeness to her home state and nature. It ended up coming out beautifully, looks even better than it did on paper. His office is unorthodox for sure but is much more inviting because of it. Everything is meticulously cleaned and sanitary (we had a convo about how much time he spends making it that way and you can tell when you're there). My two friends & I decided to get our first tattoos together (on my birthday!) , & since I have several family members who've gotten successfully tattooed by Jacob before, I figured "fuck yeah, let's do it." So we get to his place (yes, his tattoo shop is in his apartment. But before you freak out, finish the damn review) which was a little difficult to find only because there are multiple doors alongside the building, but if you've trouble finding his you can just text/call him. Okay. So I have to admit that I was a bit worried about the fact that I was going to get tattooed in someone's house, only because from what I've read online/heard from other people is that they usually get tattooed at an actual shop, one that's of course incredibly sterile & professional. However I soon got over my worries once I walked in-- his place was spotless. His tattoo studio was completely clean, sterile, organized, & just as if not more professional as an "actual shop." Plus, I figured since my family members' tattoos came out beautifully, my friends & I should be fine. My friends & I didn't get anything fancy, just a few dollar-coin-sized tattoos. We came to him with our designs on paper & pulled images from our phones to show him. From there he was able to search them up on his computer & transfer that into a work of art. He's definitely a wonderful artist & did not disappoint with the designs; they turned out better than how we imagined them in our heads. He's super down to earth, highly talented, & very enthusiastic about his clients & art. He took his time with everything to make sure we got the results we wanted, never rushed. He explained the whole process & aftercare with us during & after the tattooing. He is VERY clean (saw him change his gloves several times during my friends' tattoos). He's also super chill to talk to, & he definitely made a bunch of tattoo virgins feel comfortable about the fact that needles were about to be punctured into our skin multiple times.
