Jacob the Tattoo Guy, he is the tattoo artist that brought all my imaginations into reality! His shop has the super chill homey vibe; like you're hanging out on the couch watching Netflix with your friends and getting tattoos type vibe. A big majority of my tattoos have been inked from Jacob. With one of them being well over 10 years old, and that one is still super dark and bold till this day after all these years ! If you want a patient, considerate, and very steady-handed tattoo artist to work with, go to him ! He will work with you to bring any idea you might have to life :] read more

We wanted to give our son a special graduation gift, and he wanted a detailed sunset/beach scene tattoo with dolphins. He researched tattoo shops in several cities near us and knew that Jacob was the perfect artist for the job. Our son drove 2 hours to get to Jacob, and it was so worth it! Jacob cares about making the tattoo meaningful and what you want, and he is extremely gifted and talented. He was incredible every step of the process. His shop is professional and clean. His prices are fair, and the quality and beauty of his work is absolutely breathtaking. Our son is extremely proud of his tattoo, and we love that he has a work of art that he loves (we love it too!)! Thank you Jacob for creating the perfect gift from our family. We appreciate you!!! read more

Disclaimer: My tattoo is a cover up and as of right now it's unfinished so you can still see the original underneath if you look really hard. Jacob was great! The consultation appointment was great, he was able to visualize what I wanted and give me advice on the size, the line thickness, etc. On the day of, he made sure I was comfortable and the piece he designed was better than I could've ever thought up in my head. Jacob is incredibly easy to talk to in person and communicate with via text. As a female in a slightly compromising position and very small shorts, I felt completely comfortable with him. Highly recommend! It'll be a little while until my next appointment but I think my piece as is already looks pretty fucking elite. read more

I tried booking an appointment twice and was told to message the same number I called and still to no avail did I ever receive a response back. I checked the hours to make sure I contacted at the right time and even waited 2 days before attempting to contact the second time. Was looking forward to booking due to the overwhelming amount of positive reviews I saw but was disappointed to get such poor service and communication. With all due respect, try finding a place with better communication and willing to have you as a customer. read more

Absolutely an amazing experience overall NOT TO MENTION phenomenal tattoo!! I couldn't have asked for a better coverup. I'm forever thankful!!! lol by far my favorite tattoo now. Definitely got my attention on yelp with his amazing portfolio and now my lifetime patronage after such an amazing experience AND tattoo. My tattoo is so crispy and on point. It's everything I wanted and more. The lines are so neat and straight. I hardly even felt any pain. He was fast yet efficient and yet still so personable. Honestly, I've recommended him and now all my friends are ready to book their appointments lol I'm in love with my tattoo and I had such a good experience getting it. read more

I came to yelp to find a tattoo guy who would give me a small heart on my shoulder area and when I came across Jacob I was surprised by the reviews and his 5 star rating! I'm visiting from Seattle so tattoos over there are a bit expensive for something small. When he told me about pricing, I thought it was very affordable, then I thought about getting a second one done. So I saw the bouquet of flowers and I sent it over to Jacob and asked if I could have it done too. He said he could and even told me to come earlier than our original appointment time. When I went to his place, my boyfriend and sister sat on his couch, another plus because most places won't let you bring anyone in except people getting tatted. It was nice having my support there since it was my first tattoo. He showed me the bouquet of flowers that he designed because all I said was, "something similar, dainty and small" so he told me no one else is gonna have some thing as me. Which I LOVED! We vibed with some good music and I felt very relaxed and calm during this whole thing. For my first time, I think it was a very good experience. Jacob went above than what I expected and made me feel safe during all of it. You're in good hands if you go to Jacob. I left the place feeling very happy! Thanks Jacob, I'll be coming again! read more

Jacob The Tattoo Guy - My mom's writing off a birthday card!!!! - Tattoo Near Me - Long Beach, California

Jacob, is f****** awesome. Got tat'd by him recently and it was so fun! I'm not a stranger to tattoos I have plenty but it was my first by Jacob. He is very warm, welcoming, and super down to earth (what more can you ask for from some one putting something permanently on your body). He's a very "don't be shy ask!" "Don't like it say it it's all good" "what can I do to make this a great experience for you" guy and it helped with me just meeting him. His space is clean, organized, comfortable , and chill. To me it's always important the space be welcoming as your doing something on your body that can't be undone. The tattoo exceeded my expectations, every little detail came out amazing! He was patient with me (when the pain became to much) and made it a priority to make sure I was okay throughout the session. Thank you so much Jacob! You're great, and I can't wait for all our future sessions! read more

Had to come back & give this man his five stars! I've been tattooed by many artists but got tattooed for my birthday by Jacob for the first time & it was a blast. He works in his own sterile & organized space, in a house, which I enjoyed. It creates a more relaxed environment. With Netflix going & some nice chit chat, kinda ends up feeling like you're getting tattooed by one of your good homies. He knows what he's doing & I really appreciated his ability to understand what I wanted out of the tattoos & then able to freehand it on me first to better flow with the natural contours of my body. So if you're be hesitant about booking an appointment with Jacob, just do it. He totally gets it & is great to work with. I'll for sure be back ! Thanks Jacob !!! read more

Never got to get a tattoo from this place so this review is solely on the communication piece. Wish there would of been a follow up call or text if they weren't able to make an appointment or not. When we spoke on the phone I was told to send pictures and references Ect. Haven't heard anything since. Granted I get it's hectic due to covid Ect, however, the shop says it's open and to text for any inquiries. A simple "I won't be available til ...." would of sufficed . Best xoxo read more

Highly Recommend! I would recommend Jacob to anyone looking to get a quality tattoo. I had done a prior search for a tattoo artist in Long Beach and stumbled upon Jacob. He was very easy to contact, very professional and was able to get me in for a consultation and the tattooing a day after contacting him. He has a nice, clean business that is also comfortable and personable--including two friendly and lovable dogs to greet you! His artwork was clean and exactly what I had wanted. He also helped me conceptualize my idea without much information or imagery required. All in all, I am very pleased. read more

Incredible artistic creativity and talent for an incredibly low price! My gf wanted a tattoo but was very indecisive about the location and the overall layout, so we started with a concept and with Jacob's patient help pieced together a beautiful tree that represented her closeness to her home state and nature. It ended up coming out beautifully, looks even better than it did on paper. His office is unorthodox for sure but is much more inviting because of it. Everything is meticulously cleaned and sanitary (we had a convo about how much time he spends making it that way and you can tell when you're there). Aside from that the artist himself is one rad dude, very friendly and willing to work with the client to achieve the perfect tat. Don't hesitate to contact this guy for any work you're considering, you will be 100% satisfied with both the end result and the creative process that gets you there. read more

Jacob The Tattoo Guy - shading looks even better after healing!! - Tattoo Near Me - Long Beach, California

My two friends & I decided to get our first tattoos together (on my birthday!) , & since I have several family members who've gotten successfully tattooed by Jacob before, I figured "fuck yeah, let's do it." So we get to his place (yes, his tattoo shop is in his apartment. But before you freak out, finish the damn review) which was a little difficult to find only because there are multiple doors alongside the building, but if you've trouble finding his you can just text/call him. Okay. So I have to admit that I was a bit worried about the fact that I was going to get tattooed in someone's house, only because from what I've read online/heard from other people is that they usually get tattooed at an actual shop, one that's of course incredibly sterile & professional. However I soon got over my worries once I walked in-- his place was spotless. His tattoo studio was completely clean, sterile, organized, & just as if not more professional as an "actual shop." Plus, I figured since my family members' tattoos came out beautifully, my friends & I should be fine. My friends & I didn't get anything fancy, just a few dollar-coin-sized tattoos. We came to him with our designs on paper & pulled images from our phones to show him. From there he was able to search them up on his computer & transfer that into a work of art. He's definitely a wonderful artist & did not disappoint with the designs; they turned out better than how we imagined them in our heads. He's super down to earth, highly talented, & very enthusiastic about his clients & art. He took his time with everything to make sure we got the results we wanted, never rushed. He explained the whole process & aftercare with us during & after the tattooing. He is VERY clean (saw him change his gloves several times during my friends' tattoos). He's also super chill to talk to, & he definitely made a bunch of tattoo virgins feel comfortable about the fact that needles were about to be punctured into our skin multiple times. He's established a super chill environment & I loved that. Our tattoos turned out amazing & we're planning to go back to get more done by him before the summer ends. (: read more
