Funny enough my husband wanted to go to The Cotton Gin to shop for Vineyard Vines clothing. I had planned to sit the shopping trip out but next thing I know I'm checking out at Cotton Gin with a new puzzle, bracelet, Christmas ornament, candy and bag. Just when I didn't think I needed anything I managed to find a variety of things at Cotton Gin. As indicated by this anecdote, The Cotton Gin sells a variety of stuff and it's fun to wander through the various rooms of the two level store. Although I most commonly come away with beachy souvenirs it is worth noting that they have high end cotton products like towels, quilts, and such. The Cotton Gin has various locations and the Nags Head store is located at the 14 Mile Post across from the Outer Banks Mall.

For example, I saw a ladies blouse with cute pink flamingos on it, a baby sleeper with cute sheep on it and some cute dishes with Mr. and Mrs. on them. While the items here are endearing and they have many fun patterns and colors, I think a little bit of Mud Pie in the wardrobe or the home goes a long way. Mud Pie is a chain and the store definitely has that corporate feel to it compared to the other locally owned shops in the Outer Banks Mall.

Eric and Robert are so fun and friendly, very no-BS guys who tell it to you straight. They made the class super fun and we were always laughing. Given the time of year, there were only 3 of us in class so it was nearly 1-on-1 instruction. I learned so much! I came back the next day to pick up my mirror and was stunned at how beautiful it came out! Y'all got me into a new hobby! Thank you for such an awesome class!

I stumbled upon Absolutely Outer Banks a handful of years ago and I was impressed with the selection of locally made arts and crafts. Ever since, this is my go to spot for legitimate and tasteful Outer Banks souvenirs. In addition to locally made items they also have some vintage items and even some new items for sale. One item that this store specializes in is really cool resin windows that are unique and exude happiness. Absolutely Outer Banks has artwork in all mediums and in all price points. They have jewelry, wood signs, candles, prints, glass work, textiles, metal work, etc.  On my most recent visit I enjoyed looking at a vintage pin ball machine and eyeing up the beautiful array of Fiestaware. There is plenty of opportunity for ooohhhing and ahhhing.  The owner is super friendly so that adds to the overall great experience. Absolutely Outer Banks is centrally located in Kitty Hawk in the former spot of a bank.

This store takes up space in the Outlets of Nags Head. Which is good for the plaza. Think of this as a high end souvenir shop. A lot of beautiful things that you can take home to decorate your place. It almost feels like a library in here. It is quite, bright, and every shelf or table is full of items to browse. A lot of things that look desirable. So many things that you can take a lot of day looking through it all. I came in and looked all around, I went straight to the magnets to add to my collection. My nieces and nephew went straight for the shells. All nice and clean, ready to pick through. They also have this section where they have mini books, which they loved. Walked out of here with many little things, most of which are on the fridge at home. Great place to browse and grab.

We spent a while in here and I still feel like I barely scratched the surface. The quality and pricing of the items is all over the place. I believe the sections of the shop are set up and priced by different sellers. The used books in the front of the shop are pricy and the books further back are more reasonably priced. The large store/market is home to all sorts of trinkets, antiques, thrifted items and unique works of art. As you walk throughout the space each pocket and corner is filled to the brim with all sorts of gems. They have a large selection of women's clothing-- pants, dresses, sweaters and some really special vintage clothing items. You can also find shoes, handbags and jewelry. There are several different vendors all offering items within this one spot and there is really something for everyone! Bakeware, dishes and mugs from the 60s and 70s and loads of books and home decor. The prices are reasonable and if you look hard you can find some real steals! (Some of my best have been: a Dooney & Bourke bag for $40, Madewell t-shirts for $2 a piece) The staff here are always friendly, helpful and welcoming to visitors and those of us who are coming from out of state. Highly recommend a visit- but beware! You will need way more time than you think to see all that there is to offer in ReStyle Market.

Each brand, just a sliver in shelf space. Think the basic design from each and that's what you got to choose from in here. It's like when you go shopping for a car and you get the basic model with manual windows. Think lawn mowing shoes. The sections are lopsided too. Women shoes take up a good portion, followed by children shoes, then what space is left is for men shoes. I guess if you are in a pinch, this place could fill that need.
