We started the backyard journey by getting 15 bids from landscape construction companies. We had done plenty of home remodels and rebuilds, but never embarked on a backyard landscape project. Bon Terra impressed us immediately, as they were the only company that was up front with design ideas, costs, and time. Johnny was able to design a backyard that fit our aesthetic, and came up with many ideas we never thought of. He was able to make changes as needed, and was always open to work with our own ideas. We found Isaac and his construction crew to be personable, hard working, and punctual. They work four days per week, Tuesday through Friday, which worked great for us. I spent $14,000 to get to that point and found out I could not afford the project. The contractors told me they could make bids on basic plans and did not need the finals. I asked if it took 5 hours to make the drawing and was told it takes "a while".

I also had a pretty skimpy budget and needed to comply with the water company's rebate requirements. Tyler created a plan that filled every wish. His finished site plan reflects his extensive plant knowledge and a very fine eye for detail. He is well acquainted with the water rebate program and was able to answer questions thereof. I also used his service to purchase and deliver plants, and have him onsite to place the materials. This service alone is worth every penny; he moved plants and boulders around to the best aesthetic. After everything was complete, he came back for some fine-tuning and recommendations for my gardener. To save money I had my gardener do the installation but really wish I'd had the budget for a more extensive job done by one of Tyler's more experienced contractors. Long overdue review for a project completed last summer. Cristian and his father led a month-long…read moreproject that included removing an existing brick patio, installing tile and turf, updating an outdoor kitchen, adding a pergola, redoing deck railings, and renovating a substantial stretch of around 20 large concrete steps. It was one of our largest house projects to date with many additional findings (a crumbling foundation wall, trash dumped under our deck, rotting fence posts, etc) that were replaced during project construction. The additional charges amounted to a little over 10% of our estimated budget, which was extremely reasonable given the scale and scope of the project. Lastly, communication was thoughtful and responsive with 1-2 day response times and onsite visits, even though Cristian started the project with a one-month old. Cristian and his dad were professional which can't be overstated enough; personally, I found them both to be some of the best contractors I've worked with, where there wasn't tedious over-explanation of technical details or brusqueness/condescension as can happen in the construction industry.

I had asked that we need to replace the barrier underneath. The got it done in about 2 days. The 2nd project we had grass installed in our backyard and get the sprinklers working again (previous owners never got it fixed, so I'm glad that it wasn't any major work). They did it all in one day. They did a fantastic job - so fast, but most importantly, great quality and such good value. I would hire them again for future projects and highly recommend them to others.
