When it was all said and done, we ended up with an additional 210 square feet of new paver patio that transitions from our old patio flawlessly. They also installed artificial grass and edged it with pavers that match our patio, he prepped the rest of our yard for gravel installation (which we did ourselves) and added some decorative tree rings for us as well. We chose NuLawn because Brett was very honest and upfront with us when addressing our wants with realistic results. He also made us very comfortable with his honesty and explanation of how the project would play out.

The bids were from downright stratospheric to questionably low. Brett the owner came in and gave me a bid that I was more than comfortable with and after checking out two other jobs he completed I knew I was using the right professional for the job. On time and Brett and his crew even ran ahead of schedule. I was amazed at how much his crew could accomplish each day. I even caught one of the workers cleaning out the pool before he left one day. Ryan is great to work with, so happy we decided to contract with him and I would HIGHLY recommend him and his company. Summary: We highly recommend Ultrascapes for a landscape build and/or renovation. You really can't…read morego wrong with hiring a company whereby the prideful owner remains involved with the project from beginning to end and treats the project as if it were for his own house. He is very focused on customer satisfaction. Details: We hired Ultrascapes to build a grill island to house 2 high-end appliances. We solicited ~4 proposals from various contractors. Ultrascapes' lump-sum fee proposal was in the middle range of all proposals received; which was good for us as we don't like to select low-bid nor do we want to pay a stupid premium for the same work. We ultimately selected Ultrascapes because we felt that the owner, Ryan, seemed to grasp our vision better, was helpful in determining design & materials, and was willing to work with our budget to make our project happen. Ryan is professional, responsive, involved, and stays committed to the outcomes of the project. He maintains high standards on the quality of the finished product as if he was completing it for his own property. In terms of schedule, Ultrascapes began work a week after authorization and providing our deposit to get materials procured. They stayed onsite almost every day through completion. There were some issues during construction from decisions made by his crew, but Ryan quickly corrected those issues and kept the project schedule. Ryan would visit the site almost every day to supervise the progress and quality. Another valuable point: He didn't attempt to nickel & dime us with various small change-orders that may not have been detailed in the original scope of work; he stuck with the original vision, outcome, and lump-sum fee proposal.

I had a landscaping project completed by this company a few years ago but am just now writing this…read morereview because I felt an obligation to warn people about their business practices. Each time I walk outside my front door, I am reminded of how much money I spent in getting my front yard landscaped only to have been ripped off by what I thought was a reputable company. I would submit pictures, but I'm actually too embarrassed to even share them online. For all the time and money I invested, I should've been proud of this small project. I expressed my disappointment at the time everything was installed, but they could've cared less. Today, the plants that survived are not healthy and neither are the trees. I would NEVER recommend this landscaping company to anyone IF they want a professional job. I question whether this company actually employs licensed landscaper architects or your run-of-the- mill high school student. If you would like a mediocre landscape job, then Sunburst will not disappoint you.

My wife and I have hired a good number of landscapers to do some things around our house, Big…read moreNick's was easily the worst. We hired Big Nick's 6 months back to do some work in our backyard. We wanted some weeds removed, one planter repaired, three planters to be filled with rocks and plants, and three flower beds around our pool filled with weed barrier and rocks. The final product was not at all worth the price. The "fixed" planter cracked again after 3 months and now has to be re-repaired. The weed barrier was not flush against the edges just about anywhere they put it so weeds still grow around the edges. 2 of the 7 agave plants we had them put in the planters were planted at an angle and have since died. These were 5 year old Blue Glow Agave plants we got from Moon Valley Nursery for $400 each. On top of that, the customer service was terrible throughout the process. Big Nick's agreed to provide the rocks when we started then tried to charge me an extra $1,600 halfway through the job because they ordered the wrong amount. They took the weed barrier we had provided for the job with them after the first day then tried to charge us when they didn't have it in the days after that. That charge wasn't itemized in their bill, I only learned about it after I asked about extra charges when their math didn't add up on the bill. When they finally did return it, someone just let themselves into our backyard unannounced in the middle of the day and left the weed barrier there. Super violating. Big Nick's also didn't communicate about when they would be here to work, which left us in the dark about when to take our dog to doggy daycare so they could work. As a result we ended up paying for several days of doggy daycare we didn't need and had to scramble to get the dog in one other day. Bottom line--save your time, money, and aggravation and find a different company.
