The staff here is always nice and the location itself is clean, which I definitely appreciate. However, I've noticed on multiple visits that the service can be inconsistent. Our waiters don't check in very often, and at times it feels like we're kind of forgotten about during the meal. The food has also been a bit hit or miss. I usually order the same thing each time, and sometimes it's great -- but other visits the steak has been tough and hard to chew, and the broccoli hasn't been steamed enough. Because of the inconsistency, we don't come to this location very often and usually prefer the Westshore location instead. Overall, the people are friendly and the restaurant is clean, but I think some improvements with service and food consistency would really make the experience better. read more

First Outback restaurant in the US! Founded in 1988, which seems crazy, but this is the ultimate! Corrine was our very friendly server and she paid prompt attention to us. I enjoyed my steak and sweet potato just as much as the Outback in Roseville MN, which is long gone. Happy the original is still in business. And they still have the Bloomin' Onion. Worst time there ever. Went to the bar and the bartender ignored me for almost 10 mins. He wasn't busy and walked around just talking to staff. I received my salad about 5 mins before my steak so I had to rush to eat the salad so I could then turn to the steak. The steak was string with the membrane I suppose and quit chewy. I was going to say something but the older bartender was busy talking with the staff again. I've been here numerous times but this was beyond ridiculous. I'll try another time. The last couple times I e been to an Outback ( not this location) the steaks were just mediocre. But last week when I was in Tampa, I was hungry for steak so I figured I'd give them a shot. I'm glad I did! Since I was by myself, I sat at the bar so as not to take up a table. I ordered the 6 oz filet with garlic butter, mashed potatoes, and the mixed veggies. The steak was cooked to perfection, somewhere between rare and medium rare the way I like it. It practically melted in my mouth. The scoop of butter on top was a nice addition and large enough that I could use over half of it to add to my mashed potatoes. Delicious! The Old Fashioned I ordered was very tasty. Outback consistently under-delivers when ordering through delivery services like DoorDash. This isn't a one-time mistake -- it has happened on multiple orders. They routinely forget items, not just small things like sauces, but major parts of the meal, including an entire steak or an entire soup. On top of that, the food always arrives cold, even when the delivery driver picks it up right away. The quality is disappointing -- cold food, poorly seasoned, and missing items make the meal not worth the price. This wasn't our first choice for dinner as the restaurant we showed up at wanted us to wait 90 minutes for a table without a reservation. We wanted steaks and Yelp suggested Outback nearby. Okay, let's give this a shot. Parking is a massive challenge here. The tight lot was completely full and after circling twice, I took a space across the street that did not have any signage on it indicating it was private or "customer only." That ended up okay. Be cautious as you could get ticketed, booted or towed if you're not careful. We had no wait for a table and the meal was very good. Constance is a fabulous waitress who gave back just as much as we gave to her. She was fun to dine with and took terrific care of us. I chose the larger prime rib, cooked "medium rare" but also seared "Outback style." It looks well done in the picture but it really was cooked to order. That said, I think I'll go without the searing next time. The meat tasted great, the Brussels sprouts on the side were delightfully spicy and the Caesar salad was fresh romaine though the cheese on it had a tough texture. We received a complimentary blooming onion for Outback so we decided to go. I haven't been to many locations but this location reminds me of all the other locations I've been to. My son's football team was doing a fundraiser, and Outback agreed to donate 15% of all team dine-in or take-out orders on a certain date to the team. The catch was that I had to show the flyer to make sure that they donated. I tried calling in, but I got a recording that re-directed me to their website for online ordering. Fine. However, there was nowhere to upload the flyer or to alert the restaurant that I was participating in the fundraiser. My solution was to order and choose the pay on pickup option to make sure that the organization got its 15%. My husband went to pick up the food at the pre-scheduled time, and he ended up waiting about 15 minutes for the food, leading him to wonder if they hadn't cooked it in advance. By the time we opened the food at home, about 10 minutes after picking it up, the food was all lukewarm. My steak was underseasoned. The sweet potato was fine. My husband's burger was a soggy mess. The kids' meals were fine, although the french fries were mealy and cold. Outback is back! Every entree and appetizer were as good as they used to be when I first fell in love with the Aussie inspired menu. There was a period that lasted about a decade when the food was terrible, portions were shrinking, quality went down, random failed menu items introduced, wings were dry and tiny, etc., etc. Those days are over. Then we had the house salad with that delicious brown bread. For my entree I had a combo platter of ribs and coconut shrimp with a side of mashed potatoes. The ribs came with a side of bbq sauce. My family and I went on a Wednesday day night with a group of 8 for my grandparents 34th anniversary. FOOD: I'm a rare breed when it comes to Outback since I love their steak but ever since I was little I still order the kids Mac n cheese haha. It's yummy and well I love it. My mom ordered medium rare steak with lobster tail and her steak was cooked perfectly, she even shared a few bites with me ( love that lady). Our group also shared the bloomin onion and cheese fries, tons of bread, and most of us got some form of salad which were all very good. SERVICE: Unfortunately for us, it took over 20 minutes to get our apps and over an hour to get our entrees. The manager informed us that the computers that showed the orders to the kitchen had crashed so it was going to take longer for our food once the computer was back up and running. At first I was understanding as I know technology can have a mind of its own. Then, the manager also said that the computers had frozen each day for at least 3 or 4 days in a row. THAT was a concern for me and I was pretty surprised that she relayed that information to guests. As a large chain restaurant this can be detrimental to guests experience especially when a bad experience can leave a lasting impression. My heart hurt for my grandmother who said " WHY did this have to happen on my anniversary dinner?" It was then that I wish I could have gone in the kitchen and made our food, we were all hungering for our entrees and were debating leaving due to the very long wait. Take-out reviews: Sad to write that the past two take-out visits have had easy to avoid problems. Both times, items ordered were not in the take-out bags. Unfortunately, the missing items are not noticed until we get home and unpack for dinner. Both times, I called the restaurant to report the missing items. Both times, I was placed on hold and the call disconnected before anyone came back on the line. If anyone in management at the Henderson location is reading my review, please let me know how to rectify this matter? Do I need to go back to the restaurant to speak with the manager or just let it go that we're out $22+ worth of paid-for food? We tipped over 20% both times as we understand the employment and supply shortages but this is just a careless oversight. The person working the drive-up line was friendly and indicated that she was overwhelmed. We get it so we generously tipped to help take the sting out of the situation. However, we got stung by not getting what we ordered. TIP - even though it takes longer and backs up the car line, check your bags before you drive away or you might be short items. Most of the food that we received was good. The steaks were prepared and seasoned well. The hamburger had the wrong cheese and none of the toppings we ordered. read more

I've had issues with this Outback with several orders. Last year almost every order was either missing an item, cold, or horribly made. I even once drove there directly and spoke to one of the female managers directly about the horrendous service I received. She took down my info and promised that they would make it up to me. She claimed someone would contact me to send me something in the form of a gift card/credit it was called something else but no one ever emailed me did so I let it go and stopped ordering. Fast forward to tonight, i decided to place an order thinking they still can't doing orders as badly as they were before. Wrong! Not only was my shrimp was cooked in old oil, it was black and overcooked, hard as a rock, I even recorded hitting the shrimp with my plate to show how hard they were they didn't even break or fall apart. My salad had a lot of brown pieces in it and no ranch dressing was included either and my carrot cake was dry as the drought between my grandmother's legs. Only thing good was the bread which I asked for extra butter and that wasn't included either. So basically I paid $40 for a little load of bread since it was basically the only edible thing I received. I know I can't be the only person getting messed up orders. I'm not even going to bother calling or coming in to talk to anyone because I did that once before and nothing was done about it. I just won't order ever again as it's like throwing money out the window with the horrible food and the horrible customer service. I wouldn't order here as there are so many other better options to choose from that will make your food right. Do better Outback, all you have to do is make your food correctly and make sure items aren't missing in orders before you send them out! You literally have one job and you cannot even get that right. I may be a bit of a steak snob, but given this is a "Steakhouse" I believe it's fair to have high expectations for their steak. I have been to other Florida locations and never had an issue with the actual meat before. I ordered the 6 ounce filet and lobster and my friend ordered the 8 ounce filet and shrimp. Both of our filets were so fatty they were inedible as you can see in the photos. My friend spent more time cutting his than enjoying it. I gave up after two bites. My friend and I were intentionally poisoned!!! Now both of us are vomiting uncontrollably for hours. All because we wanted a few late night appetizers!!! We were told "it was late an we didn't want to be the last ones to order"!!! When our food came out it tasted a little off. The waiter stopped by and was told that he forgot my soup. We ate a few bits and came to the conclusion that something wasn't right!!! I waiter never returned to our tabke at this point!!! Not to cause a disturbance and clearly not feeling well we left!!! Absolute worst service and horrible food I've had at any outback, and we love outback. we waited 10 minutes after we sat to be greeted by the server who was going to just walk by until she saw us with surprise, she did an about face and took our drink order, which took another 7 minutes to get, an an iced tea, chills sprite, and the kangaroo drink which didn't have the toy which is why I ordered it. The app came out quickly, but it took another 15 mints for her to come back and take our order. Then the food came out and the food was tasteless and bland. We both ordered the new filet and shrimp with scallop special and got the 8 ounce. Neither myself or the baby ate the food at all except for our salad and my husband left half of his food untouched. At $114.00 you'd think she would have checked in on us but did not. After a 2 hour stay we were more than ready to leave. We paid our bill and took a very unhappy child home. I mentioned things to the host as we left and he asked if we'd look like a manager, but after that amount of time and not seeing one for the 2 hours we were there we weren't waiting.
