We are traveling thru to Niagara Falls and stopped for the night and saw this was a couple blocks down from our hotel, so decided to drop in for just a snack after a very long day. We were seated quickly and we ordered our drinks. Quickly out came our warm fresh bread and whipped butter, yum. Then we asked for a blooming onion but we prefer ranch dressing to the typical dip they have, they said no problem and soon they presented us with our beautiful onion and ranch dip. These are a little on the greasy side. This one was a little strong as far as onion goes but, hey how can you really control that. Service was super great, constantly came asking if we needed anything else and wanting to top our water off. Highly recommend this outback. As we sat, we realized our waiter had disappeared and suddenly had 2 other waitresses bring us drinks then my salad. No one explained why our waiter had stopped coming or told the other waitress she had a new table... Finally, someone from the kitchen brought out our food. It was done correctly, spiced perfectly & the best steak I've had at Outback in a long time. I had the 6oz Sirloin with Garlic Butter (so good), baked potato and house salad. Gluten free. The other order was a Outback Burger and fries, done correctly and delicious, not Gluten Free. We had 5 different staff members come to our table, but no one ever said anything. Finally, we asked another waitress to get our bill and then we had Mgmt come to our table. Simple explanation, apologized for the situation & we said the food was good at least. Megan and Ben were very friendly and helpful throughout our meal. There was an awkward situation with another patron that was being rude and they handled it very professionally. The food was really good. We each had a sirloin steak. My wife had grilled shrimp and I had the twisted ribs. They were both delicious. Ben switched the tv so I could watch my schools' football game. We had a great experience here! We loved the Outback when we had it in Canada so it's always a treat to make a stop when we're in the states. Our visit was no less than expected, service was quick and friendly and the food was the standard Outback Steakhouse fare. Since we had a late lunch I opted for the French onion soup and a house salad, which only ran me around $10 or so. The soup had tons of cheese and was hearty and flvourful. The house salad, although simple, is one of my favorite items to get at the outback, the salad bowls and lettuce are always ice cold and fresh and the honey mustard dressing just pairs so nicely with the lettuce and croutons and tomatoes. I'm not sure if it's just nostalgia speaking but I love the outback house salad and it was exactly as I had remembered it at this location. The restaurant looks like a standard outback, it's clean and has that Australian/American steakhouse theme. There are also some TVs playing sports. I paid an outrageous price for 1 dinner, my dinner and appetizer was a total $40. I was charged $61 I had to pay a service fee, delivery fee, 20%tip and tax. When I got my food my appetizer was burnt and soggy it looked as if someone had been eating off it. The toppings for my baked potato was ridiculous, the amount of a half teaspoon worth. I always enjoyed going to the outback on the east coast every Sunday and when I moved here I was so disappointed that they were so far away. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! We patiently waited two hours before we were seated at a table. The hostess and her trainee were very polite and apologetic. We observed everyone waiting with us are seated, some have eaten and are now leaving. Several see us and are shocked we haven't been seated. While we were waiting , our 87 year old grandpa requested a drink. The hostess couldn't leave her post and her trainee wasn't a "server", so she suggested that one of us could get it since our 87 year old was on a walker. That took an additional 30 minutes and finally our table is ready. Our two senior handicapped citizens (using their walker and cane) managed to make it to the table. Our server arrives and informed us she is very busy and will take our drink and entree order. She delivered our drinks and took our order. We are very cordial and fully understand that our 2 hour wait has nothing to do with her. Next, a lady appears and starts talking to us and tells us they have been very busy and please be patient with our server, which , by the way, we were! We reiterate that we have been very patient even though it took 2 hours to be seated. HER RESPONSE: "YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT~YOU COULD HAVE LEFT!" Seriously! Now she tells us she is the MANAGER! Obviously she has NO MANAGERIAL TRAINING SKILLS WHATSOEVER!! She was RUDE, CONDESCENDING AND DISMISSIVE. She never apologized for our wait and fully doesn't comprehend the effort it entails to take handicapped senior citizens out for dinner. That being said, she leaves and we look at each other and question what her attitude was all about! Now our 87 year old would like another drink and our waitress is busy so our "go to" person said he will get it stating it will be faster than waiting. He went to the bar and ordered a drink (JUST AS HE DID BEFORE). The bartender tells him his server will take it to the table. Insistent, he tells her he will take it because of the wait. At this point, a man approached him and asked if there is a problem. He explained he wanted to take the drink to his table. This man threatens him saying : "YOU NEED TO LEAVE THIS RESTAURANT OR I WILL CALL THE POLICE!" This man approached our table and ORDERED us to leave again stating if we don't, he will call the police. DOES NOT STATE THAT HE IS A MANAGER, NOTHING! SHOCKED TO SAY THE LEAST, I retrieve the walker and cane for the handicapped Individuals and help them out of the booth. The customer at the table across from us is clearly upset and disturbed and offers her assistance. As we are leaving, the group of seven that were waiting with us earlier to be seated, asked me what happened. I tell them and they immediately are upset and drop the " f bomb ' directed to the manager who is leading us out of the restaurant as if we are CRIMINALS!! In my mind I think this is a " WHAT WOULD YOU DO " episode on TV. I wish I would have videotaped this incident so OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE could use it as a Tutorial on HOW NOT TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS ! Reflecting on this, we should have refused to leave, let the police come , record our statement and those of customers who observed how this incident was handled, but we worried about the effect this would have on our elders. It is very obvious that either 1) Management doesn't know what they are doing; 2) the place is significantly understaffed; 3) Management doesn't know how to run a restaurant when it is slammed. Could not believe my experience. My wife has a peanut allergy, but we have never had an issue at other Outbacks. So when we placed our order, we disclosed her allergy, as we always do, and the first waitress said she was unsure about the frying oil. We said we would pay for our drinks and gladly leave. Then the manager came around and assured us that the oil was safe, and she herself had a peanut allergy and has no issues. For a second time we ordered, then the "owner" came by and told my wife he felt uncomfortable serving her because the oil no longer has a warning for nut allergies and it used to.
