First off I would have given a 1 if it hadn't been for our waitress Debbie and the on duty manager (who was just filling in, who should be a manager, but isn't) Brittany. These two ladies went above and beyond to fix the issues and we didn't even have to ask for them to fix anything. Whoever the restaurant manager is you really need to make Brittany a manager. She stepped up and took care of us above and beyond and was pleasant the whole time. Debbie also stepped up and gave us free refills bc of the long wait without us asking her to bc our drinks weren't free refills. She kept checking on us and giving us updates the whole time. Made sure we have plenty of bread to keep us content until food arrived. Now, bad part we were there for 2 hrs waiting for food. Our blooming onion came out fast and so did the bread and my husbands side salad, but when it came to entrée that was a different story. It was a very busy evening and I do believe they were understaff bc they weren't even setting people on one side of the restaurant, so I don't know if back of house was understaffed too, but let's just say it took way too long and then when our food came out it was not good. My husbands shrimp was ice cold like it just came out of fridge and thrown on his plate and his cheese fries were cold. Then my steak was cold to the touch, I mean fridge cold. The other person who was with us got a blooming chicken and he said his was fine. They took all our food back and redid it, at this point after 2 hrs we just wanted it boxed up to go and so they recooked it and boxed it all up and gave us free deserts. They did comp all our drinks, mine and my husbands meal and the blooming onion, which was great for the experience we had. Those two ladies saved the night. Needless to say I just ate bread and blooming onion for dinner, but have steak for dinner tonight. I will also say the bathrooms were dirty, paper towels all over the floors, counters were covered in water like someone had taken a bath in there. I do believe this restaurant needs more staff, the staff they had were working their tails off and no one was standing around doing nothing. I felt bad bc they trying their hardest and just couldn't keep up. We love outback and eat there a lot. This was our first time going to this location, when we go back I will always ask to be seated in Debbie section and hopefully they have given Brittany that raise she deserves. read more

Surf & Turf for a great price - I usually don't eat chain spots when I'm out of town but I couldn't pass up Outback's Tuesday Tail deal - 6oz sirloin & Lobster tail w/ 2 sides for $24.99 It's not advertised in the restaurant but I saw it on the app. As I walked in hostess let me know bar is 1st come seating. Sat down at the bar & was immediately greeted by Jennifer. She was amazing & very attentive. If nothing else, I would come back for the service. Horrible service I walked in 30 min before closing the bar tender was screaming last call several times sounded like some dive bar in a remote Navy harbor some where in the third world. Outback Steakhouse in Rocky Mount has plenty of parking, and I was able to walk in and get greeted and seated properly. My beverage, salad, and bread came out quickly. I ordered a ribeye steak with coconut shrimp and a loaded baked potato. The steak was good, cooked to the correct internal temperature, though a bit overseasoned. The shrimp were good as well. 4:30p Tuesday Service- seating hostess was nice. Needs to not be on her phone while working. Waitress was prompt, bread server was nice. Food- my hubby's Kingland pasta Steak and shrimp Alfredo- not enough Alfredo sauce so it was a bit dry. Only a little sauce drizzled on the meat. The sauce tasted from like a jar and had been in the jar a long time. The steak was salty and tough. The shrimp was like rubber and had a slight bleach smell and taste to it. I have been eating at this chain for many years and their food and Menu remain good. This particular restaurant is surrounded by about 6 hotels, so they seem to get a lot of travelers. Service was quick and friendly from everyone working. I opted for one of my favorite items on the menu, Alice springs chicken. It is a chicken breast with mushrooms, bacon, and cheddar cheese, along with honey mustard dressing. It also comes with 2 sides. I had the loaded baked potato and the house salad. Ordered Uber Eats from this location and had a poor experience. Canberra steak was overcooked and heavily salted, and my mashed potatoes had no flavor. If I could give it zero stars I would. We got there at 6:30. The waiter didn't even come to the table for 30 minutes. We got only ONE of their tiny loaves of bread for 5 adults with a tiny amount of butter. We had to ask 2 times for another loaf. They took our drink orders. They took 30 minutes to bring cokes. By now it's 7:30. Took our food orders. Brought the appetizers out 20 minutes later. At 8:30 we got our food. My baked potato which I ordered loaded, didn't even have butter on it. Our food was horrible. The blooming onion first of all came out, overcooked almost burnt, and the oil looked like it needed to be changed. The waitress was not familiar with the menu. We had ordered three orders of coconut shrimp. However she only rang into two and thank God for that because that was even worse than the blooming onion, overcooked, dirty oil and filled with stuffing. I left there with a queasy stomach. The oil is sitting in my stomach. I asked for a Heineken. I had to repeat that like three times. She didn't know what beers were in the bottle and then my husband got a tropical drink and she didn't know anything about it. Surprised by this place. We came here after an unpleasant experience at a nearby restaurant (Texas Steakhouse and Saloon) where we could not get anyone to serve us. We walked in here and it was packed, so we chose to sit at the bar. As soon as we sat down, they were taking our drink orders and after ordering two glasses of the house Chardonnay, our server suggested a bottle as it was a better value if we were going to have a third glass (GREAT SERVICE). Visited on 11/17 around 7 PM. The good news...our waitress (Vanessa or Veronica) was attentive and accommodating. Especially considering a party of about 15. The wings were fantastic! By far one of the best experiences that I've had to date. I'll look for Outback's wings going forward. Now for the bad...I ordered the 10 oz bone in ribeye with asparagus and mashed potatoes - what a woeful experience! The asparagus was completely overcooked, drooping with absolutely no texture (akin to string beans) and the ribeye (medium) was 1/4 fat and severely under seasoned. Probably the worst ribeye I've ever had. My waitress was kind enough to swap out the asparagus for a salad but to be honest, I should have sent the entire meal back. Even the potatoes were void of seasoning and the entire meal was lukewarm. A complete disaster. I'm fairly tolerant so for me to write this review expressing things in the way that I am - this was a major miss on Outback's part. Last thing, the pink lemonade was more like pink lemonade flavored water. As you can see, save the wing appetizer along with the coconut shrimp (which were nearly overcooked) this was NOT a pleasant experience. Our server Maureen was awesome, the other waitress with "three sons," was awesome and even the manager (female making rounds in the restaurant to ensure that all was well) was awesome too.
