The burger was good, the service was even better! We stopped by Barley Burger on a weekday afternoon for lunch while traveling through Rocky Mount.. we tend to stop in Rocky Mount frequently when driving I-95 up the East Coast. This restaurant is in a strip shopping center and in the area of local hotels. We were seated near the bar which was a nice booth with raised barriers between tables which made conversation easy. Our server Kaydi quickly came over to offer drinks, an energetic tone, a positive smile, and the refreshing Southern "yes ma'am/sir." I got the Blues Brothers Burger with sweet potato fries, a very tasty lunch, and filling. We were offered to-go drinks, a cordial touch. Pricing averaged about $25 per person, a very reasonable price for the value delivered. Overall, we will certainly be back the next time we're driving along the east coast. I ordered the Burger Bowl which is an enormous mixed greens salads, bacon bits, sliced egg, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions topped with 2 burger patties. I originally didn't think I'd finish this salad but it was really fresh and delicious. Very low carb meal. Next time I might try chicken instead of burgers. Husband had the Rocky Balboa burger and a side salad instead of fries. He was a little disappointed in the small size of the burger but it was otherwise good (cooked medium well but not dry) and the salad was fresh. Service was friendly but server had a little trouble remembering if they had Guinness. I would expect the servers to have this information ready as they serve primarily burgers and BEER, ya know. We were driving from Washington DC to SC and decided to stop here for lunch as it was a good halfway point. It was a great decision because it was delicious. The ambiance is movie pictures themed. The menu offers about ten different burgers, as well as a build your own option. I went with the truffle shuffle and loved it. It had carmelized onions, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and truffle oil. For my side I had onion rings, which were also good. My husband had the blues brother burger. It had blue cheese, carmelized onions and lettuce on it. He got the sweet potato waffle fries. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The decor is filled with movie memorabilia and tv's for watching sports. Our waitress,Shane, was absolutely amazing!!!! We ordered fried pickles for an appetizer. They came out quickly and were lightly breaded and full of flavor. For our main course we ordered a truffle mushroom burger with tots. We shared it since we heard portions are large so we are happy that we shared the plate. Everything was so tasty and delicious. Yelp helped me find this absolute gem while visiting Rocky Mount today. I absolutely loved the decor, the music, the draft list, the service, and the food. Our server was super friendly and informative. We shared that we live in Raleigh and learned that they also have a location in Raleigh on Hillsborough Street. We already have plans to check out the Raleigh location this weekend! The food was all amazing! Clear standouts were the eggrolls and the smash burgers. The sweet potato waffle fries were amazing too. We enjoyed the 90s music and the movie decor on the walls. The Ricky Bobby is amazing. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I would probably have them go a little lighter on the jalapeño peppers, but I can't eat too spicy of food. Met with some family members here to celebrate a birthday. We arrived at the restaurant around noon on a Monday. The place a reasonably busy, with several customers taking advantage of the nice spring day and dining on the patio. We were quickly seated and the server took our beverage orders. The restaurant seems to have a movie theme, with lots of the dishes having movie character names, such as Ricky Bobby, Napoleon Dynamite, Rocky Balboa, and my choice - Marty McFly, a burger with homemade chili, coleslaw, and American Cheese. Others in our group ordered Cobb salad, and two hot dogs Doc Brown and The Jules. Our meals were brought to the table with a short wait time. My burger was enhanced with the homemade chili. Good flavor, normal sized burger. I liked the sweet potato fries with ranch dipping sauce. Locals and travelers know a Gold Mine when we see one. From the moment we stepped out of the rain we saw sunshine. Leah greeted us and sweetly told us there was a wait, we would have waited all day for the awesome food and service we received. We only waited long enough to decide our beer choices. While sitting at the small bar area we conversed with server Rebekah and also with Leah. Great beer & food selections w/ creative sandwich names, friendly staff, quick food w/ full service. Benjamin, the young man at the front door was on point. Quick & friendly greetings as soon as the door opens! The pics may not give the full story but the hand battered fried pickles and the Ricky Bobby Sub were perfectly made. Although I got my food to-go, the pickles were still crispy and the sub was wrapped in foil to Lee it hot till I got to my hotel.
