We had to have one final family dinner for the ending of 2025. Believe it or not it took my family and I a bit to agree to a place to go. We actually canceled 2 reservations before we chose Outback. We were literally on our way to another restaurant when we passed Outback and we all looked like "What about Outback?!" I called and a young lady answered and of course with it being New Years Eve my first question was "What time are you open until?" Follow up was "Is there a wait?" The young lady said they were open til 9pm and there was no wait. I canceled the 2nd reservation and we popped a U-Turn. When you walked it you definitely still felt the seasonal vibe so it was super cute. Got it and we were automatically seated. We had the pleasure of being served by Vinicio. He was lovely and sooo attentive to everyone at the table. Their Old Fashioned was pretty good, a little sweet at the end, so if you order it make sure to stir it. All the sweetness sticks to the bottom of the glass. All the drinks we ordered were really good. My brother got the Watermelon Paloma and my mom got one of their Margaritas and it was soo good. I had to taste for Quality Control When it came to our food, I know Ive never been disappointed by the food which is why my whole family pretty much agreed to come here. You ALWAYS have to have the warm delicious bread with the butter My mom and I are bread heads lol so we always have to make sure to leave enough for the other. The rest of my fam ate the Aussie Cheese Fries as an appetizer and one thing I didnt remember was the cup of ranch they give you on the side, so bomb!! Now my entree, I was soooo excited for the Toowamba Salmon, my dad and I both got it. He said the shrimp was a little spicy for him, but it was perfect for me. My mom got a shrimp and steak pasta, he was disappointed when it came to the steak pieces. She said it looked better on the menu and she didnt get a lot of steak in it. My brother got a 13pz ribeye with a baked potato on the side. It took a while for him to get his 2nd side. He asked for broccoli and initially when they brought him his plate it wasnt there. I have been having steak cravings so I decided to stop in for lunch since it's so close to work. Ordered myself the Ribeye/grilled shrimp combo with a side of mash potatoes & caesar salad. Started out with their bread and butter which I thought is really good. The bread is nice & soft. Caesar salad came out next which I wished they would have brought it out with my steak. I like to eat them together. The Ribeye looked better than it tasted. Was not that juicy. Definitely had better elsewhere. I like a good balance of fat & meat but there was a chunk of fat I couldn't eat. Also, I asked for medium rare but it was more like medium. Shrimp is well seasoned & the garlic mash is not bad. My main course took a while for it to come out. I didn't have much time to eat before packing most of it up to head back to work. I was actually on a happy hour search but saw that they have this "Aussie 3 - course menu" that had some interesting options... ok then let's give it a whirl on a Sunday night! It is what it is. It's a great deal given the app is about $13 and you can get a bottle of with for like $27 up (or even less!). So I decided to go for the the potato soup, coconut shrimp, plain cheesecake, bottle of wine, and a bloomin onion. Right away I knew I'd ordered too much. How the hell was I going to even make a dent on this food?!? I mean ... I had wine to drink! Bloomin onion... it's yummy but also A LOT. It's a fun treat! Potato soup... eh... it's ok. I had a couple bites and it was fine. Coconut shrimp... pretty good deal for less than $15 you get the soup shrimp/side and cheese cake! I had 8 pretty large shrimp and they were good! Has a old school homey/family appeal to it and a good variety of food options for everyone (steak, pasta, burgers, etc). Slightly better quality than u would expect from most chain restaurants and fair prices. Portions are pretty decent, each steak comes with 2 sides that u can chose or upgrade to some other options. We came here for a birthday celebration literally because we talked about the Bloomin' Onion. The Onion did not disappoint! The service was fine and we probably did not need to make reservations as it was quite empty on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant did start to fill up a bit as the night wore on, mostly larger groups. They did have a Deals menu, similar to Chili's, but we had to ask for it as the promo might have been winding down. No one ended up ordering off of it though. The food was good. The mashed potatoes were really satisfying but my ribeye was overcooked. I asked for medium rare but I got a pretty tough medium well to well-done texture. It was also quite salty. I'm not the type to send food back unless it's inedible (redoing a steak can make you wait for 30 minutes at other places). The flavor was still good and I ended up finishing it. I got their house specialty margarita. Typically at these types of restaurants, I'm worried about their margarita's being overly sweet but this was a nice, balanced marg! Our server also gave us a dessert for the birthday girls (Brownie Down Undie) which was quite good. Overall, it was fine. Nothing really special except the Bloomin' Onion. Prices were fair. Hey Everybody! Aloha and welcome back. I decided to have dinner at Outback Steakhouse to take advantage of the free meal offered at the restaurant for Veteran's Day. Naturally, the restaurant was busy. The crowds were out the door and the hostesses were trying to balance reservations with walk-in customers. The pressure was on and the crew there was working hard. The manager, I believe his name was Chad, was calm and collective and dispersing folks to their tables all the while apologizing for the wait. They told us the wait would be 60 to 80 minutes, but in reality, the wait was under an hour. They texted us to let us know our table was ready. We were seated immediately after we checked in and in no more than 30 seconds, our server,Tammy, wass taking our drink order and dropped the special menus for the Veteran's Day promo they offered. The meal includes fresh loaves of bread, an entree, a choice of two sides and dessert. I opted for Grilled Chicken on the Barbie. Seasoned and grilled chicken breast served with a signature BBQ sauce which was tangy and sweet and a choice of two sides (I chose Caesar salad and a baked potato with everything on it). This dinner was more than generous and I can see why so many Vets chose this restaurant to celebrate Veteran's Day. Everything was so satisfyingly delicious. After the juicy chicken breast and baked potato, I was stuffed. So stuffed I decided to take the cheesecake to go. Special thanks to the hard working crew at this location in Poway. Our server was great but the food was definitely not. Mediocre at best. The blooming onion was extremely salty, my filet mignon was overcooked and not seasoned at all. Grateful for the A1 sauce. The salmon had the same spice used on the blooming onion and the house salads were nothing special - the lettuce was not fresh. Stopped into an old favorite I had not eaten at in many years! The ambiance and service are just as I renter it- like a time capsule - in the best way possible! Ordered chicken on the barbie - which comes with BBQ sauce on the side, and has 2 medium sized chicken breast grilled to perfection! I like to order this with a baked potato (all toppings on the side - butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits and green onions), and a honey mustard salad to go with it! The restaurant also serves fresh baked bread, right out of the oven with butter. Delish! Pro tip: if you want to try the blooming onion and can't finish a whole one, you can now order "pedals", which are all the trimmed onion pieces with their famous blooming onion batter served on a plate for $1.99 (it's listed in the sides). I have not dined at Outback in over a decade. Decided to come for lunch on this particular day. Their lunch menu is limited and affordable ranging from $10.99 to $13.99. It comes with a side choice of fries or vegetables with an additional charge for soup or salad. I got Alice Springs Chicken that has a top layer of melted cheese, bacon and mushroom for $12.99. My friend got the Bloomin' Fried Chicken which has the same batter as the blooming onion for $12.99. We both chose vegetables. Both dishes were decent and delicious, the chicken breast on the Alice Springs got dried after all the layer of toppings fell off. I preferred the Bloomin' Fried Onion because the salty taste balanced out with the vegetables. Overall, it's a small portion size for lunch and after tax and tip, easily stay under $20. Plenty of parking in this area, additional parking over by Core Yoga. read more

Not sure why they have such horrible reviews. I've been twice in the last month and both times WERE amazing. Service can be a little slow but I think they just don't have a lot of workers. Brian, who was her server during lunch on Wednesday we entered the restaurant nobody there orders our food food was good besides the food. The Service was mediocre. We got our bread on the cutting board and we asked for some more bread so our experience of other restaurants is they gave us a new board every time they brought the bread out, so there was trash on the board that was given to us the first time And he just put the bread on the board with the trash and just walked away. Our experience at Outback Poway today was absolutely unacceptable. It started with an unusually long wait for our filet mignon and lobster, only for one of the kitchen staff members to inform us they were out of lobster--40 minutes after we had already ordered. They offered to "make it right" by removing the lobster from the bill (5 plates worth) and giving an additional $20 credit for the inconvenience. To make up for it, they also gave us shrimp as a substitute, but it was translucent color and the texture was incredibly strange. Then came the filet mignon. One of the steaks came out raw (blue) which was shocking considering we ordered it medium cooked. When the staff replaced it, the new piece was so tough I couldn't even chew it, absolutely not a tender filet mignon. At that point, I just wanted to leave and didn't bother to complain further. To top it off, I'm now left with a stomach ache, potentially from the undercooked shrimp. This experience was far below what I expected, and the "resolution," giving a small credit and some free shrimp, did not come close to making up for the poor quality of the meal or the lack of service. It displeases me to write a review on a restaurant that I once loved. I had taken a friend of mine who has never been to this establishment to enjoy, what was once a great steak that was perfectly prepared. Unfortunately, they did not meet our expectations due to the fact of poor service, long weights and cold food. What really surprised me, Was the food being served, in which I only can imagine, a salad plate. The waitress did not service our food, but rather management stepped in to be of some service. He drops the food on the table and doesn't wish us bon appétit. Doesn't ask if we need anything else i.e. condiments a refill on our tea, etc. We ordered an awesome blossom that taste like drinking a gallon of oil and was also well overcooked. I'm sorry to say, I will never return to outback, especially this one in Poway, ever again. Absolutely horrific service, ambience, and waiting time. I will be following up on the comments written by the owner to see what they do to correct this issue. I want to see if they contact me regarding my comments. read more

Four stars for the drinks and service! Our server was awesome. Attentive but not overbearing, she made sure everything was good. We came for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. We actually had one side of the restaurant basically to ourselves for most of our meal. It was so peaceful and not noisy at all. My only complain is that our burgers were slightly over cooked. 5 of us had lunch here and we all had the 5 oz sirloin lunch special. The meat was about 3 oz the most . It was like a toddler size lunch. I ordered one to go for my daughter. Her meat was a tiny bit bigger then ours. Guess what I measured it and it was less then 4 oz. Shame on you!!! The house salads & 2 loaves of bread with butter were delicious and our 2nd sides which were baked potatoes with everything on it were small but good. I ordered the filet mignon and lobster tail. The filet mignon was very good but I was so disappointed with the tiny lobster tail. My husband could have eaten it in one bite but I cut it up in 6 tiny bites. Would not recommend that at all. My husband had the largest prime rib. He was so disappointed. It had a big fatty part which he didn't mind that as much as the quality of the piece of prime rib. It was the worse he had ever had, he said, and we have had many prime ribs there in years back and have served prime ribs on Christmas Day at our home. It was cooked medium which came out fine but the quality of the meat was awful according to him. He made a joke and said maybe it came from a horse. Again our service was excellent. We came here for a dinner with family. The restaurant was not crowded but service was still very slow. Drinks took over 25 minutes to receive from time we sat down until the drinks came. Everyone ordered the steak and lobster combo with filet. The sides were very good and the steak was ok. They had overcooked the filet as I asked for medium and got well done. Thankfully, the taste was fine and filet is a tender piece of meat. The restaurant atmosphere was fun and warm. The lack luster service was hit and miss all night, so overall it was an average experience worthy of a solid 3 stars.
