One of the better Outbacks we have been to! We walked right in and grabbed seats at the bar. We ordered our go to favorite cocktail the Wallaby Darned and these ones were strong and delicious! The onion petals appetizer came out quickly with 2 sauces for dipping! We did have to wait a bit for our entrees but that gave us time to digest a bit and order a second round of drinks. My husband's steak and Alice springs chicken was cooked perfectly and he ordered the seasoned rice and upgraded to the wedge salad for his sides. I tried the new Parmesan creamed corn which was decent but I would probably try something else next time. I was a bit disappointed with the coconut shrimp due to the heavy breading. The loaded baked potato was delicious as always! Overall a solid meal with good service, would recommend and return again. read more

I don't come here very often but when I do it's always a good experience. Food is tasty and they have some great deals. Drinks were delicious, they always have something new for you to try. Our servers name was Allen and he was absolutely exceptional! Super kind and amazing at his job. The inside was clean and there wasn't too many people there. I would stay away from this outback! They ignore their customers. There is one waiter in the bar area that i have had before that is good but the woman i had today totally was miserable. Slamming drinks, not checking on us and literally walking away. The manager could have cared less with what i had to say. I was not even asking for anything free even though the meal took 2 hours. We are a local medical office and recently ordered catering for 20 people. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. When we picked up the order, there was not nearly enough food--what we received wouldn't have adequately fed even half of our group--yet we were charged over $400. This put us in a very difficult and embarrassing position when trying to serve our clients. To make matters worse, the quality of the food did not meet expectations. The vegetables were undercooked, and overall the meal felt rushed and poorly prepared. We contacted the business to speak with a manager, and were told the owner would follow up with us. We have yet to receive any response. We were not initially seeking a refund--we simply wanted enough food to properly serve our guests--but the lack of communication and resolution has been frustrating. My wife & I ate at the Hagerstown Outback today. I ordered the sirloin & coconut shrimp combo meal. The shrimp was delicious but the steak was filled with stringy gristle, the kind you can chew forever but can't force yourself to swallow. Terrible quality, especially for the cost. read more

Our blooming onion was good, prime rib was almost perfect, but my wife's chicken and pasta seem to be real oily, my baked potato was cold and hard that's why I ended up taking it home. But there was plenty of food the prime rib was big so I did take some of it home. My daughter loves her cheese fries and when I say love it's at least once a week. Always tastes yummy and when we ask for 5 ranches for one order of cheese fries they always have us covered. We didn't even have a chance to eat. Please, please teach your host staff how to properly profile customers for seating. My husband is a big and tall man and the first place they tried to seat us was the tiniest 2-person booth in the restaurant. We were then moved to another booth which was also much too small. The tables are immovable, so a big and tall customer doesn't fit in the super skinny booths. We should've been sat at an appropriate top. The final straw was the hostess' absolute lack of caring. She stayed at her table rolling servings instead of handling the situation. read more

Stopped in for lunch. The first time in a long while at an Outback. Noted the floors and many tables dirty while we were led to our seats. The wait wait for a server was rather long, the server was pleasant. We ordered a blooming onion that came many minutes later lukewarm. For lunch we ordered a steak salad and a prime rib sandwich. While we waited the next 40 minutes for those we noted multiple dirty tables and didnt see anyone busing them until our server cleared two. We did speak with management and was treated decently but this restaurant has the look and feel of either a staffing or quality control problem. read more

The worst Outback experience I have had. Very rude and dismissive service. Sent one of our steaks back due to being overcooked. They brought the same steak back 15 minutes later even more well done. The server openly showed her disgruntled attitude to me and my family because she had to redo the order. Then there was an issue of an extra steak on the check. All in all...a horrible experience. But 5 stars to the welcoming and friendly staff , the clean and cozy atmosphere, the dinner salad , the drinks . I haven't been to an Outback in quite awhile . Years ago I always ordered their midsize ( 8oz) signature sirloin ; it was always on point . Ordered same last night and let's just say things have changed . My feeling is that Outback is using substantially less quality meat for this particular steak at least . I presume in order to keep the costs in a " value priced " range . Definitely value priced ; I can't argue with that . But next time I think I'd get the Alice Springs chicken . Called for call ahead seating was told that they aren't doing any call ahead spots until after 9 p.m so we came in like we were told on the phone. Meanwhile as we are standing waiting 3 different families came inside with call ahead reservations. I speak to a manager who says that call ahead spots started filling up over a week ago therefore they wont take anymore until after 9 p.m. I was also told on the phone that the wait time was only 20 to 25 minutes but once here they say 50 to 55 minute wait time. The food was good and I will start with that. Our server was great and attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. We had the blooming onion which is as tasty as I remember from the last time I was in and outback 16 years ago. The decor was up to date and the food is too. My only complaint is that our entrees came out over 30 minutes after we ordered them. I'm on vacation so it wasn't really changing my schedule but if I had to work the next day I'd have been a little annoyed. Our server even said at one point that he didn't know why they weren't ready but he did run back and told us they were just going on the grill and apologized. Well this Outback is in Maryland but the crab cakes were not authentic Maryland crab cakes. But I'm from NY so what do I know. They were decent but maybe could have spent another minute in the pan. Slaw tasted like Miracle Whip, not what you make slaw with. I was a little disappointed the remoulade wasn't the original recipe from the grilled shrimp that was taken off the menu years ago. We ordered the lobster sirloin tues night special for $25.99 and we upgraded for $2 more to a larger sirloin. The server was great, friendly and did a good job. First, Kim the bartender was friendly, helpful, lovely, attentive and one of the best who had ever served us in all of Hagerstown restaurants. Started with iced tea and French onion soup. I never thought you could screw this up but the previous place I ate at really messed it up. This Outback had the best French onion soup I have ever had. Kim accommodated my many allergies and modified my dinner accordingly. I got the filet medallions, mashed potatoes and wedge salad which was totally modified and I loved it! I went to Outback with my family for a birthday dinner. There were 5 of us total. Let me start by saying, the food was good but the service was sub par. The only good thing I do have to say about the service was that they accommodated us with a table rather than a booth because my father had just had back surgery. It went downhill on the service end from there. I ordered wine as soon as we sat and did not see this wine until about 30 minutes later. The waitress blamed it on the bar and said they had to pour it, even though she hadn't walked over to ask them the entire time we were sitting there. We ordered 2 app, the bloomin onion and the fried mushrooms. The mushrooms came out in a decent time, but the bloomin onion took 20 minutes because they "gave it to another table". Instead of making light of the situation our waitress said "well if I had been back in the kitchen it wouldn't have happened, I don't do things like that". Basically blaming it on everyone but herself, very unprofessional. Our main entrees were sirloin steak and lobster, Alice springs chicken, a porterhouse, and a kids grilled cheese. All of them were very well prepared and satisfying. The food was good, but they have to work on the hiring people who can own up to their mistakes! read more
