It's gotten a tad bit too pricey over the last 3-5 years though, with pizzas costing $22 each, and only serving 2-3! We ordered an appetizer meant for grazing in a group and was surprised to find that we had tiny portions of a few spreads with 3-4 total crackers for $10! So while we love the pizza, the I prices are starting to worry me. Amazing view atop the hill overlooking the lake, and awesome pizza, but they might want to reconsider the prices for what they're offering.

The menu had plenty to choose from. I ordered the Cowboy burger with the bbq sauce on the side, and garlic parm wings dressing in side. They were decent items. Nice venue with seating inside, or a screened-in outer area, or outside at picnic tables (with…read moreumbrellas and without). Outdoors they provide cornhole, hula hoops, footballs, etc. The outdoor area is dog friendly. Service was the main reason Tamarack Farms got four stars instead of five. We checked in for a table as soon as they opened, but it was a very long time after we were seated before we got water and could order. More minimal dings were for not providing BBQ sauces with the ribs, butter for the cornbread, or wet wipe packets. As someone who ate regularly at the original Famous Dave's that burned down, these things were the standard. Not extras. And now they don't provide them when other BBQ joints do.

I enthusiastically change my rating from three stars to five!…read more I visited Tamarack Farms with my family during our recent trip to Hayward and wow is this spot much improved from when I visited six years ago. Some things that stood out: * The farm pizza! This was delicious. We tried a couple including pepperoni and mac and cheese pizza. The crust was excellent as was the toppings. I was also impressed by how well the mac and cheese stayed on top of the pizza. The kids loved it too! * The brisket! My husband's aunt and uncle recommended this, and they weren't wrong. It was so tender. Just perfection! * The cornbread! If you ever had Famous Dave's cornbread, this is very similar, and for good reason. "Famous Dave" Dave Anderson owns Tamarack Farms. * The wine slushies! On a warm day, these hit the spot. It also feels like this restaurant has refined its approach. This includes the decor, the menu and how the restaurant is run. Where before we had to wait a while for our food, this time around everything seemed to run like a well oiled machine. Tamarack Farms also includes a fun selection of wine, so you could take some bottles home with you. The building is open and airy, with large garage doors. It's just a fun place all around. I hope it becomes a tradition that we come here whenever we're in the Northwoods.
