This bookstore is awesome! When I went on a Friday afternoon recently, it was pretty calm and…read morequiet. Not too crowded which I liked as it can get pretty tight since there's many books and many shelves. Service was fine although I didn't really talk to many people while there (was more preoccupied with finding the books and checking them out). I'd say this place has great value as the books i got (3) were charged a total of just under $5. I can see why the staff put up flyers stating to be mindful with how many books the customers get as they're priced pretty low, allowing you to collect a decent amount. I'll definitely be back to check this place out again :)

Second Story Books is worth the drive or long Metro ride from Washington, D.C. Housed in a large…read morewarehouse within walking distance of the Twinbrook Metro station, Second Story Books houses over 500,000 used books on literally every topic. Want three aisles of kids books like Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys? Go here. Need every book C.S. Lewis wrote? Stop by Second Story Books. After visiting nearby ZavaZone with our seven-year-old daughter, we stopped into Second Story for a few minutes, which easily turned into an hour. Every book is 50% off. We left with 15 books for just under $21. The books are well organized and maps help navigate visitors to each section, but know that the warehouse's narrow book aisles can get cramped. It adds to the appeal! There are even harder-to-find rooms with other items like posters for sale. They also sell CDs and DVDs. Staff are helpful. I lost my wallet and within an hour a staff member messaged me on Facebook letting me know they found it and it was safe at the checkout desk. If you have used books, Second Story Books buys them from people.

Update: I left the below review elsewhere, and Dave had the audacity to contact me stating, "One…read moreof my employees showed me the terrible review you left on Google. I'm sorry you felt the need to write down such a review over your claim..." That's not an apology for a botched inspection! This company essentially told our moving company that our claim was mostly fraudulent by denying our damages, which thankfully we were able to prove otherwise. Oh, and the table below that I previously said they "beautifully fixed" - yeah, so, after they fixed it (fixed in place, mind you), they rotated it (odd since it was fixed in place). I couldn't find the damage because it was now on the other side of the room. It was fixed just ok - we keep the spot covered. Original: Overall, we do not recommend, although some of their repair work was excellent (and some was pitiful). Their inspection capability was sub-par, and David's attitude was extremely pompous in person (and somewhat over email). Our move had massive amounts of damage, and we had photos of the storage units and moving trucks with our household goods horribly packed (heavy items shown crushing more delicate items below). However, David and crew determined those items had "pre-existing damage" (nevermind that we had before-move photos, pre-move inspection documentation, photos of the items being crushed during the move, testimony from the movers themselves that items were damaged during transit, etc.) David's attitude was so pompous during the whole process that he was not open to even consider being wrong (they even labeled glass items as "plastic"). It took about a year to rectify their poor inspection and settle with the moving company (which we ultimately did to our satisfaction once we were able to show that the inspection company did not correctly capture the damages). To their credit, they were responsive, beautifully fixed a horribly gouged table with sentimental value, and were willing to at least confirm what the moving company was telling us. Recommend they lose the attitude, treat customers with respect, consider all evidence, and learn a little bit more about item values and materials.

We appreciate all of Clair's furniture's help. We had a terrible move, he came out and worked with…read moreus through all of the red tape to fix our things!! Totally recommend them for move damage and furniture repair!
